Mother's Day is Castaway Cay.

Oh, we could probably toss roses into the water at the adult beach....or something.

are we doing a DIS meet aboard the ship the first day? I am sure we'll all be meeting in the terminal!

I'm sure there will be lots of yelling and squeeliing in the terminal when we find each other! We did a 3PM meet in the Promanda Lounge on our double dip, and that worked great...then some of us found each other for the sail-away party too.

We're staying at POFQ in November, but could move with the package code to POR(no availability at FQ). I'm not sure I want to change, but any of you have any views? FQ is so compact.

Well, I'm a hugh French Quarter fan, so unless the savings is significant (how many DOD's does it cover?), I'd stay with the smaller resort. I'm thinking your DH would appreciate the convenience. Riverside is beautiful, but very spread out.

Yeah, 50's Prime time, sorry, sometimes I put the answer in the "title" line and it doesn't get seen. My bad!

Good morning sister! Did you get my message that I'm home from work today? Cold has now moved into my chest and I have a wracking cough!
I'll call you at the office later (may need a meal delivery if your plans allow)!

I'm off to page 1511 to finish catching up!

Good morning everyone.....afternoon for you Ukers!

Hope everyone is doing well.

Few things to answer/post....
1. I (at this moment) am planning on staying at the Fairfield Inn out by MCO the night before sailing to (hopefully) get on the 1st bus out to the port. Would be up to meeting any/everyone for dinner the night before.

2. Horseback riding.....I am probably going to do this (but in Acapulco - have done it in PV, so want to do something else there).....so I'd be willing to have Molly with me (if you want me to).

3. Kathe and V (especially...but anyone else that will be here is welcome to join).....how about a breakfast/brunch meet on the morning of the 27th?? I know Kathe is doing PFTS that night so I'm sure she won't want to eat much for lunch :rotfl: . Let me know what you think!

Can't remember what else I was going to write---I'm at work, and it's already taken my about a 1/2 hr to write this much!

Shore excursions.....only thing I am planning on doing right now is in Aruba - I want to do SNUBA...has anyone done this yet? I love to snorkel and would like to scuba, but not sure if I can, so figured this was the next best thing. Am considering the Zip line/Canopy adventure...this will test my fear of heights (I try to do that to lessen my fear).

I guess that's it for now!
TTFN!

I was going to write about POR vs POFQ....I've stayed at both.

Both are nice, but if I had a choice (everything else being equal) I'd choose FQ - I love the atmosphere (love NOLA) and the size. POR was nice too....we stayed in the mansions (Magnolia Bend). POR is more spread out, but you get to walk off some of the food you're going to be eating!:lmao:

What is PFTS? I am drawing a blank!

On the DIS Podcast, Kevin did a review of Prime Time this last week. You may want to listen to it (mostly good).

I will have to check this out - just not sure I can keep up with y'all AND listen to POD casts!

Cleveland (even Public Square) is NOTHING like NYC - no comparrison. NYC was literally shoulder to shoulder people all over midtown and Times Square. There were so many people in Times Square it was literally overwhelming. It was kind of cool for awhile - but with a 7 year old in tow a bit of a challenge.

Riding in a NYC taxi is another experience alltogether - although they are not allowed to honk anymore. If I had to do the same driving, I would NEVER make it. They literally squeeze in inches from other cars and almost collide at every intersection!

I know exactly what you mean, I learned how to drive a STICK in NY! I survived and cannot believe I did!

I enjoyed the Luxor as well - I try and hit a different hotel each time I go, but the last few we were lucky and stayed at the Venetian with friends. I really loved "RED SQUARE" I cannot for the life of me remember which hotel it is in, but they have a bar that has a frozen top to set your drinks down to keep them cool. China Gate restaurant is in the same hotel...

We were lucky and saw "LOVE" last trip - AMAZING show! Have a GREAT TIME!

That is the russian bar that is at Mandalay Bay, its a very nice bar to sit and relax and have a drink at. It is right next to the Luxor. They also have the House Of Blues there which has the best cobb slad in the world. YUM!

Thanks - YES! That was it. I'll have to try the cobb salad next time!

Miss V - Good luck with the pool boy - I actually had one but the company changed routes and I now have a GIRL! (Just my luck eh?)

MISS JACKIE - NO I didn't get your message - but I'll call you see if you need me to bring you any supplies at lunch. I hope you feel better! Thanks for spilling the beans about what a horrible child I was sleeping and kicking you all the time. KIDDING! I just was ACTIVE thats all. I sleep much more soundly now - ahhh hem... actually more soundly than YOU do now! :rotfl: :lmao: :rotfl2: :thumbsup2 Miss T - was mentioning another AZ Dis meet - maybe we can get GATOR to join us this time. Think we can get MISS CHERI down here in this heat for another one????:wizard:

Nskjerven - I have INDEED mentioned riding horses on the beach in PV! It was me! I always have such a battle in my mind about that - PAYING to ride when I have two lovely horses here... but hey - I can't exactly bring them now can I ???

Have a lovely day all!:grouphug:

We love POFQ, though we have only stayed there(twice) and BWV. We have walked around POR and yes it is beautiful, but I just think of the long walks and the standing on the buses!!!:)

However, our friends from Georgia who are booked at the moment at POFQ too can save $600 by moving to POR. If I could choose my room at POR than I would probably give it a go as it is the only way we will have the DP this time( package) At the moment we have AAA room only rates, which together with UK tickets and what I guestimate to spend eating is not a lot different. Decisions, decisions, decisions!

Went to the 300.00 store today and Bed Bath & Beyond and spent a small fortune but all the bathrooms (but ours) are done now! And the guest room is all set! 3 rooms closer to finished.

Well, your DIS pals are glad to hear the guest room is ready for us!
:lmao: :lmao: :cool1: :lmao: :cool1:

...up to page 1518!

Hey, that reminds me....have you booked any ADR's for this trip? If you haven't, you'd better get cracking! :lmao: At least if there are some favorites you'd like to visit. Boy, I remember the 'olden days' when you could just walk up to LeCellier and get a table.....gone, gone, gone!

Yes, I booked ADR's as soon as we could thanks. Good point though! We are Joining our friends for 3 meals which we will keep anyway, and I booked others in case we managed to get the dining plan. I will cancel 2 of these of we don't. There isn't a lot of availablility for the code this year and there has been plenty of moaning about it on the resort forum!!

We've stayed at POFQ (in 1991, when Dixie Landings was being built) but prefer POR. In fact it's our favourite resort even over WL which we used to love most but which seems to have become so busy. POR is big, but we enjoy our walks from place to place, looking at the landscaping, water, and particularly the wildlife. We like the Bayou best, with the frog chorus in the swampy bits at night. But we've also stayed in the Mansions and enjoyed the more manicured gardens with rabbits on the lawns in the evening. And with the various paths and bridges, none of the rooms is more than a very pleasant 10-minute walk to the main building.

Looking forward to being there again next May. :)

does anyone have the logo - not the one with Mickey - the words one - saved as a jpeg file? I am trying to copy off PJ's site but I can't change it from bmp.....

Well were game for anything. Lots to do and see there . I think the tournament would be fun to see and eat there and then go over to the Rio to see or we can be in the parade above the casino.

That sounds perfect....let's do it!

I agree with the becoming like family. Im an only child and Holly and I have kind of become like sisters since we clicked on the cruise a few years ago. Nice to ahve friends like that !

I have a feeling that your family just got a lot bigger...just you wait and see!!!

 :cloud9:

I really need a support person - and cannot get the boss to replace the person who quit months ago. Another person that I had well-trained (but who did not like the job) quit for another job a couple of weeks ago. She was very competent.
This is why I need to get motivated with starting my own practice again.

Can I send you my CV (resume)? :rotfl:

Now, all I need is one of those green card thingies ......
