Glad you made this thread, if this years fall break falls around the same time as next year we will be going Oct 15th - 18th but have to wait till mid nov 2012 to know for sure. We just got back from DDs first WDW trip last week and looking forward to plan our 1st DL trip.

Welcome! I can put the 'guess' dates in for now and just let me know when you figure it out for sure!

My kids also just had their very first WDW trip and I'm also so excited to plan my first DL trip with my son!

As Canadians I think I should have chosen November or December but again everyone kept saying it was a LOT warmer than more Octobers. Other than being disgustingly hot and sweaty it was a great trip! We had a lot of days (12 with 9 day park hoppers) so we could take more time in the parks instead of running place to place. Next WDW trip will be in a family suite. My boys fought a lot at night having to share beds like that! lol

Heather - It was a lot cooler pretty much as soon as you left, and a lot less humid. Our last day there was a little chilly for me (Saturday October 13) because of the wind.

I have just started planning my October 2013 trip. We are going to do the first week of October. This trip will be just DH and myself. We are going to do a few days at Disney, focusing on Epcot, then spend the rest at the darkside. For the Disney portion we are thinking about staying at the Swan for easy access to Epcot WS. For the Darkside portion we are planning to stay at RPR.

I quit smoking February 22, 2012. Cigarettes here cost about $5.10 per pack (give or take). I have been putting the money I spent on smoking into a separate savings account. Right now that account has over $1,300 in it. By October 2013 I'll have over $3,000. This money is my budget for the trip. My husband is saving a little here and there to be our spending money.

Here is what I have planned so far:
Saturday September 28 - Lake City Hotel
Drive to Lake City. Eat at Mikes Cafe. Sleep at hotel here.

Sunday September 29 - ???
Sleep in late. Drive to Orlando. Eat/hang out DTD Check into Disney hotel if price is right. Stay somewhere cheap if not.

Monday September 30 - Disney Hotel
Epcot - Food and Wine Fest!

Tuesday October 1 - Disney Hotel
Magic Kingdom morning (see new fantasyland, ride the three mountains)
Epcot - Food and Wine Fest!

Wednesday October 2 - Universal Hotel
Universal Parks
Sci Fi or Horror mini golf at night

Thursday October 3 - Universal Hotel
IOA for Harry Potter early entry
HHN

Friday October 4 - Universal Hotel
spend day at resort
HHN

Saturday - Universal Hotel
sleep in late
hit the parks

Sunday - inexpensive hotel
drive home.

Awesome! Our room bounceback was only for aug/sept plus this trip is just me and my oldest son and we're going to Disney Land.
