ok, were back from philly. here we go. the little spot is still there. the spot has some inflamation around it. meaning, doctors feel it is not a new tumor but a result of the stereotactic radiation. which is common. hes not to concerned about it but is going to watch it. if she gets any pain or trouble, they can put her on steroids but he doesnt want to do that unless she has problems. we go back nov. 14th for another mri and to see him again. so, in the range of. oops, spot on the film to brain tumor we have to go in and get it today, i think we got half decent news. it seems he remembers us as the disney family and is a fan himself. so, we are taking at good news. thanks for all the prayers, textes, concerns over that last few days!!!! he said go to disney world and have a great time!!!!:thumbsup2

More news on the positive side. We got back from the Doctor a little while ago. We waited about 45 minutes and they then spent about an hour with her. First the attending who saw her in the ER and then the staff doctor. He is also head of the department. Both were really thorough with great "bedside" manners.

They decided to hold off on the lumbar puncture. I think they said that it was the sixth optical nerve that is causing the problem. It prevents her from turning her right eye to the right. They said there was no chance of damaging it further, and should get better with time. If it doesn't, surgery is a possibility. They won't even think about that route for six months.

In the meantime, glasses were ruled out because it wouldn't help. She needs to wear an eye patch to counteract the double vision. She is not happy with going back to school wearing a patch so he suggested sunglasses with frosted scotch tape on the inside. She still wasn't happy. It didn't help that I keep making pirate jokes. That and the doctor said cosmetic issues were not something to consider. We go back in four weeks. Hopefully it will be better by then.

Trying to get her to look on the bright side, at least she is partway to her halloween costume. For some reason she doesn't think that is funny either.

Glad to hear all the good news! :goodvibes And I thought the pirate thing was funny, but what do I know?

It did! Check out my facebook page (can't get it to post here remotely...)

Can't get to FB at work, but I'll check it out when I get home...popcorn::

Glad to hear that it doesn't seem to be anything serious. I couldn't imagine why a teenage girl would be upset about having to wear an eye patch to school? :confused3

I thought the pirate thing was funny too. Maybe she will one of these days.:lmao::rotfl2:

Edited because the "best palindrome ever" is not allowed on this forum. Hint: it's best when there are two of them.

That is all.
Well played.:thumbsup2

now that the anaesthesia has worn off, i am checking in to say hello.

my surgery that was put off earlier this month took place yesterday. the doc said the cyst was huge, but he was able to remove all of it. on top of that they confirmed it was benign. I had to have my ear drum reconstructed and a prosthesis inserted behind it to replace the small bones that were destroyed. I should have a better idea of how my hearing will be out of that ear in 3-4 weeks.

hope you all are doing well.

Started downloading the pics from all the cameras. gave my 7yr old his own because I wanted to see the vacation from his point of view. 472 pics in 6 days. Almost every moment documented. Now I just need to figrue out how to post a pic to prove I was there.
welcome home!

Yes, I'd say this is positive news....will continue to lift you both up in prayer!

6 Days! So Jealous!!!!
thanks!:thumbsup2

good luck with the pirate jokes, i tried that myself with tammy and i got the same amount of laughs.:lmao: tammy walked around for a few weeks with a dark lens on her eye because after her surg. it looked bad. she couldnt wait to get it off. praying for you guys, shes way to young for this.
Good to hear (now we just need to keep hearing good things for everyone else)
Enjoy the trip!

I’d love to see some your young’en’s pictures. Post a few around here or start a new thread for them once you figure out how you want to go about doing it.

Ehhh… Cameron seems a bit of a glory hound to me
(but I don’t figure you’ll make it in Hollywood if that isn’t the case).

Actually (and not to pick a fight, but…) if you adjust for inflation, Avatar if 14th:

Rank - Year - Tickets Sold - Adjusted Earnings - Film
1 - 1939 - 202,044,600 - $1,606,254,800 - Gone With The Wind
2 - 1977 - 178,119,600 - $1,416,050,800 - Star Wars
3 - 1965 - 142,415,400 - $1,132,202,200 - The Sound of Music
4 - 1982 - 141,854,300 - $1,127,742,000 - E.T. the Extra-Terrestrial
5 - 1956 - 131,000,000 - $1,041,450,000 - The Ten Commandments
6 - 1997 - 128,345,900 - $1,020,349,800 - Titanic
7 - 1975 - 128,078,800 - $1,018,226,600 - Jaws
8 - 1965 - 124,135,500 - $986,876,900 - Doctor Zhivago
9 - 1973 - 110,568,700 - $879,020,900 - The Exorcist
10 - 1937 - 109,000,000 - $866,550,000 - Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs
11 - 1961 - 99,917,300 - $794,342,100 - One Hundred and One Dalmatians
12 - 1980 - 98,180,600 - $780,536,100 - The Empire Strikes Back
13 - 1959 - 98,000,000 - $779,100,000 - Ben-Hur
14 - 2009 - 95,863,900 - $772,962,100 - Avatar
15 - 1983 - 94,059,400 - $747,772,300 - Return of the Jedi

But what is more important (from a DisDad perspective) is that two of Walt’s films are higher up in that list.
If you look at the top 100, you’ll also find that Disney has held its own very well:

Rank - Year - Tickets Sold - Adjusted Earnings - Film
21 - 1941 - 83,043,500 - $660,195,600 - Fantasia
24 - 1964 - 78,181,800 - $621,545,500 - Mary Poppins
25 - 1994 - 77,231,800 - $613,992,700 - The Lion King
29 - 1967 - 73,679,900 - $585,755,300 - The Jungle Book
30 - 1959 - 72,676,100 - $577,774,600 - Sleeping Beauty
38 - 1940 - 67,403,300 - $535,856,500 - Pinocchio
45 - 2006 - 64,628,400 - $513,795,500 - Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest
47 - 1942 - 63,712,400 - $506,514,000 - Bambi
65 - 2003 - 57,337,500 - $$447,882,900 - Finding Nemo
81 - 1960 - 53,808,000 - $427,773,600 - Swiss Family Robinson
87 - 1992 - 52,442,300 - $416,916,700 - Aladdin
88 - 2010 - 52,201,900 - $415,005,000 - Toy Story 3
91 - 2003 - 50,648,900 - $402,658,700 - Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl
100 - 1999 - 47,836,500 - $380,300,300 - Toy Story 2
thanks!!:thumbsup2

I'm at work, walking down the hallway, and talking to myself as usual. Suddenly, I feel the urge to poop and head towards the bathroom. I have my belt undone and pants unbuttoned when I realize I have not opened the door to enter the bathroom. Luckily, no one was around. I am so ready for vacation.

i missed something!! what are you sitting in doc??? ( i know its a plane.):lmao:

Apparently, if you were stupid enough not to cancel your Air Canada reservation today (in anticipation of the strike that didn't happen), you might have ended up in an empty Beechcraft 1900D, and if you happened to call "shotgun", they might have let you have it... :confused3

And congratulations to my DS, Jack, who's excitement over the phone when he called to tell me tonight about passing his Board of Review and reaching the 2nd Class Scout brought tears to my eyes!

OK....what was supposed to be a nice pleasant uneventful evening turned into drama....

My 2 year old decided she wanted to touch the shiny exhaust pipe on my wife's car! Blistered thumb later, she's miserable and hard to console. Cold water/compresses....tylenol....

Ahhh....the joys of parenthood!

Motrin, Scott. Okay to double them up. Okay to give in this age group for this indication. Will help the swelling and is better at treating pain.
