The Disney Wish, what are you wishing for?

Being that we've only sailed Disney, I can't comment on the other line's food quality. But I would sort of agree with you on the Quick Service Foods, I do find on the Wonder (the ship we've sailed on the most) that I tend to get more food items from Daisy's Delite's as it offers more fresh and healthier offerings. I would very much like to see more of that reflected in the others, less fried foods and more fresh or healthier prepared foods, also I wouldn't mind if they would have one of the quick service stands open for early risers (ie, 5 or 6 am) so we can get something with out having to wait until Cabanas opens or resorting to staying in the stateroom and ordering room service. I am always up early and like wandering around the upper decks before the rest of the guest wake up and would really like to have some kind of breakfast bite. And many have mentioned a casual restaurant that is open for "anytime" dining, that definitely would be possible on the new ships, but for the old ships like Magic & Wonder finding space for a small bistro style place would be really interesting.
I also wish they had something open early morning. Even if it was just coffee and fruit cups or pastries.

Good idea but I think it would have to be done on another deck than the main deck, otherwise there would be no space for anything else.

I know some cruise lines offer this (ex: Carnival Mardi Gras) but they have a whole section for it, away from the other pools.
Before COVID I considered taking a cruise on the Carnival Vista where they had this. I think they were called the Havana cabins. They had an obvious theme and the cabin areas (this is all according to YouTube) appeared to be blocked away. They had a direct access to the pool which for some hours of the day was for everyone, but some just for those in the cabins. But it still looked empty a lot. It looked like a combo between concierge and the general cabins

I wish Disney would reconsider their internet plan and start offering an Unlimited Internet package. I've had this type of package on RCL and Celebrity, it was expensive, but a lifesaver nonetheless. Some of us have businesses and can't afford to be away for a week... I know this is a wish that could be implemented now, so here I am hoping that DCL looks at this forum. 🤞

I definitely hear what you’re saying but I have to admit I liked the way my husband was totally present with the kids and me when we went on our cruise. He wasn’t doing work email or reading the news or keeping up on which guys were getting traded on which sports teams. He was just there, swimming with the kids, talking to me, walking around the ship and eating and playing and soaking things in and enjoying life. He absolutely loved it and we all adored our time with him. He has a job that is very very hard to get away from but he made it work, checked in a couple of times very briefly and the world went on without him for a little while. I’m sure a better internet package is inevitable, so we probably won’t get that kind of time with him again. If he sits down in a lounge chair, instead of watching the kids swim or laughing at the movie or talking with me, he’ll be replying to emails and reading the news and keeping close track of which sports guys are getting traded to which teams.

I cruised on the Vista and from the aft pool, we had a view of the Havana pool. Indeed, it was always quiet or empty.

The lack of internet is a huge bonus for sailing DCL. It has been the only vacations in the last decade where I actually disconnected and there nothing anyone could do about it. Colleagues somehow survived an entire week without calling me daily.

Would love to see some leisure space that is designated as a quieter area and open to both teens and parents. There is nowhere I can hang with my 16 year old without much younger kids running around and yelling, or lots of background noise.

When my oldest turned 18 and we could sit at the couches near the adult pool in the late evening, it was pure bliss. Great memories.

I know this will be controversial but, after talking about the Covid changes, I thought a cabana type offering would be nice. I don’t like the stress of finding chairs and then worrying about leaving stuff there while in the water with my kids etc. It wouldn’t have to be cabanas but reserved seats somewhere near the pool or movies where I could pay and reserve seats with towels and a bar server and maybe optional shade, and some special souvenir or some fun extras. Or, small reserved hot-tubs. We could never get in them when we cruised before because there were people camped out in them all day. My husband still jokes about the lady who seemed to stay in the entire day with her family coming and going. I wonder what that did to her skin.

I know people will say this is another nickel & dime thing but the stress of finding chairs and worrying about keeping them too long or not having them when I come back from getting food would make it worth it to me.
Did you ever try to go in the hot tub with her?

Unfortunately, no. I'm sure she was a fun lady and I would have liked hanging in the hot tub with her. But I was dealing with a toddler and the one or two times I might have had a chance to try the hot tubs they were packed. It wasn't a big deal at all - we had a fabulous cruise!

Oh man, is it really that bad:oops: ? We are doing our first Disney Cruise in 2022 and will have a stop in Nassau. Should we just stay on board the ship? Is there anything you would recommend if we do get off?

Nassau is a one-and-done type destination for some people. You get off and see what you want to see, maybe get your passport stamped, that's it. There's some interesting historical stuff to see. The Straw Market was worth seeing once.

If I go back I won’t be in a rush. Maybe walk around the market, buy a souvenir or two and head to Senor Frogs for some drinks and then be back on by lunch. It’s not a bad stop but it’s kind of a one and done thing. All of the excursions can also be done at CC or anywhere else and it’ll be cleaner. I’ve heard Atlantis is very overrated too

Not really, it's more that people just go a lot. We did the Land and Sea tour, and it was really good and we enjoyed it, well, the land part was the weaker portion. Any of the excursions that go into the natural beauty of the land and the actual cultural history are nice. You just have to get past the shop and being surrounded by vendors. At the very least, for your first time there, do an excursion and then you can make up your own mind.

you and dynamicdisneyduo are right. It's not bad but nothing special about it.
I enjoyed going to Atlantis and getting my casino fix for a couple of hours having a drink or two while DD was enjoying the pool.

We've gotten off the ship in Nassau several times and done a few great excursions, but now we're kind of over it. Last cruise, we stayed onboard and we might have stayed onboard again for our recently cancelled cruise. Next time, now that our kids are pretty much grown up, we may try a local food tour or something.

We absolutely loved Blue Lagoon and Atlantis excursions. We tried a visit of Nassau and venturing on our own and that's where we were disappointed.

My recommandation would be to find a nice excursion. This way you avoid the vendors and you'll most likely have a good time.

Nassau is doing a huge port upgrade. https://www.nassauportconstruction.com/
They are trying to bring more culture and displace some of the day traders who sell foreign trinkets as Bahamaian goods. It opens in theory in 2022. It will be a cause of at least getting off the ship to listen to local music!

We haven't done any excursions there, so I can't comment on those, but the market near the port just doesn't appeal to us. We get off and walk around a bit, but I don't like people pushing you to buy something. It just makes me uncomfortable. On our last cruise our tablemates went to Atlantis for the day and they felt like it was run down. They had been before and weren't too impressed, but they decided to give it another try since there daughter loved the water park, but they said that was probably the last time they would go.

I guess participating in the activities on the ship or not participating (lounging in a pool chair) appeals more to me than touring Nassau. :)
