Up and ready to head into day 2! Yesterday was HS and I am so glad we stayed for the Osborne lights, wow! Today is AK and this is the park that we are the most excited about!

Weather has been wonderful, shorts and tees for sure. We brought hoodies and stashed them in a locker first thing expecting to have to grab them after sunset but we never touched them until we left the park, although we did leave at 6:30 because we were so tired.

Food at the park was meh. We stopped for lunch at Dockside Diner (nicknamed by us as the SS Disapppintment) and they were not only out of vodka (only told me after I ordered and paid for!) but they were totally out of the one and only kids meal! No note at the entrance to the line, I only found out after waiting to get to the counter.

When we stopped back there in the afternoon to grab something to drink my son dryly commented that he hoped they were not out of water. (He is only 10 and autistic so for him to get dry humour is huge!)

Food issues aside, it was a great day and we did everything we wanted to do and are now considering not doing a second day at HS and maybe adding a second MK one instead.

Wow. It's almost here.

Those that have completed your trips, how was it?

Just returned from our first trip on Sunday! Now suffering some serious Disney withdrawal despite returning with lots of souvenirs, snacks and memories.

Crowds were lower than expected; temps were higher than expected (except for MVMCP on 12/3!) Buses ran better than expected (I’d read lots of horror stories about them so I didn’t expect much!)

We were able to fit in: Akershus, Soarin, CP with NPH, Illuminations (unfortunately downwind *cough*), LTT, Wishes & Wishes Dessert Party, BOG, Castle Lighting, CRT, BBB, MVMCP, O’hana, Osborne Lights, Minnie’s Holiday Dine @ H&V, Fantasmic, Lion King and movie night at POR. Even managed 2 trips to DTD!

We rode everything on our bucket lists (7DMTx3!) and got every single Princess autograph!

Basically - it was a magical six-day trip that I will NEVER be able to top! And it would not have been possible without your very good advice – so thank you all!

Days 2 and 3 done!

We went to AK yesterday and I have no idea how people feel that it is a half day park! Not only did we spend from 8am until 5pm there but we are doin a second day there on Monday. We did Safari, EE twice, Dinosaur, walked the Africa trail, went to Rafiki's and saw the animal show there, saw FotLK and did 16 of the Wilderness Explorer badges.

It was a really fun day and so far it has been our favourite park.

Today we were at Epcot and again, we are planning a second day there on Tuesday. Too many rides to list but we barely scratched the surface of the world pavilions and DS had a blast with the Agent P game, we finished 3 of the missions and he can't wait to do the rest.

Tomorrow is our one MK day and it is probably going to be a busy one!

So far the trip has been tiring but fun and the weather cannot be better!

Stuck on the Peoplemover right now! Been stopped for almost 10 minutes and no idea when we will start again or get walked off.

So this was going to be my giddy one week left! post. But on Friday my husband had an accident and could have died. The doctors said he was very lucky to be alive. His tests came back fine and I think they will give him the all clear to fly, but all I can think is how grateful I am that I didn't lose my husband and the father of my child, soon to be children, two weeks before Christmas. It's so easy to become caught up in trying to make the perfect holiday experience for our families, but just having my family together and healthy is what I'm thankful for this year. This trip, if we are still able to go, is just icing. Enjoy your holidays everyone.

Got back from my trip yesterday (boooo) and have to go back to work tomorrow . I just want to go back to Disney... But the trip was great!! Was able to ride almost everything. I think the only rides I didn't ride were Kali River Rapids, Prince Charming's Carousel, and the Speedway. Went to the Christmas party on the 8th, had front row spots for the parade and a good view of Holiday Wishes, and also saw IllumiNations, Fantasmic!, the Candlelight Processional, and the Osborne Lights. Oh and some resort decorations. My friend and I thought it was a very fun and successful trip!

Park Order: MK, EP, DHS, AK. MVMCP on the 18th.
We have FasPass and ADRs scheduled, but I'm still nervous hoping we can get in enough other attractions with the crowds that are expected. Time to head over to Len's Place and do some emergency ride scheduling.

still have to finish packing.... one day left of work..... weather has me all confused..... I'm from AZ didnt really want 80 degree weather but as long as I dont get snow in Denver on Wednesday ( Southwests logical route- either that or thru Chicago), I will be a happy woman.

I am also trying to finish packing. 6 days to go (we have a split stay added on before the portion of my trip showing in ticker.) I have waited until now to pack for my DS, age 8, as it is a surprise. Only problem is, turns out the boy only has 2 pairs of shorts and about the same number of matching socks! Who knows where his clothes migrate to. I am blaming his hockey bag. The socks can easily be remedied, but shopping in Maine for shorts last minute will not be easy. Though, I for one am not complaining it looks like we need more than two pairs. Our local weather has been so unseasonably warm (40s-50s), I need some warm days for it to feel different than home! Although I have 1 non-work day before our departure day, it is now booked with 4 soccer games, 1 hockey practice, and a child's craft party. So, it's looking like shopping after work is my best bet!

Who knew you could get so much done at Disney in a weekend trip?! We did most headliners. The mornings were lighter crowds which was amazing. By the afternoon it started to get packed. At night is when we packed liked sardines. I thought the decorations were perfect. I am super bummed that I didn't get a Osborne light ornament. If anyone got an extra, I'd love to buy it. Or a pin!

We had dinner at BoG and since we finished after the party started, we were escorted out. DS's headphones had stopped working during the day and even though they were not supposed to, a nice CM let me in to the Emporium to buy him a pair. DS had fun doing the Sorcer of the MK game but it was a bit buggy and he only completed one mission.

Yesterday was out second AK day and we had a great time. DS managed to get all of the badges for the Wilderness Explorer game and he was so excited to finish! Between our two days there, we saw every show, walked both trails, did the safari twice, dinosaur twice, EE four times and a few other ones once. We had a great time and loved having two days there. thanks for the updates! I am thinking about giving up one of our MK 1/2 days in an attempt to minimize the craziness of trying to get to DHS to see the lights. We have definite plans for 2 other 1/2 days ( 1 am and 1 pm) and 1 whole day. This will change our plans to a very Epcot heavy trip (7 1/2 days!), BUT Epcot is our favorite park. Hearing from someone else who would choose double AK or Epcot over double MK helps me feel more confident. Our trip was originally a shorter trip, so the equivalent of 2 days in MK seemed balanced. We can also hop over on some other evenings if we decide to. We added YC for 3 days, so we are adding only Epcot and DHS time to take advantage of the location.

He went to the cardiologist today and they have him wearing a heart monitor for the next 48 hours. His preliminary results came back great they're just being super cautious. So we're really cutting it close to the wire to see if he is given the thumbs up to fly. Obviously we would take it really easy if we do go, lots of lounging by the pool time and kiddie rides in the parks. I would just hate to cancel and break DS's heart. He's been looking forward to this trip for months.
