Wow! we could've used that...

I didn't read through the entire thread, but I have to say the one item that I used more than anything else I packed (besides the camera!) was a little pair of scissors I threw in my suitcase at the last minute. They were great for taking stuff out of packages, clipping threads, I can't tell you how many times I used them in the week and a half we were there! It was the best afterthought I've ever had.

The best thing I had in the first aid bag in my back pack was the new Band-Aid brand Blister care band aids. They were a life saver for blisters.
Being a Paramedic I did go over board on the first aid kit, but better safe than sorry. But I have to share a good story about packing though...My DW is hypoglycemic, and one guard at the gate to Mk saw my glucometer and told me that guest services has a frig for you to store insulin in!! :thumbsup2 How cool and observant is that!!!

Great tips!

My son suggested that I buy the All Small and Mighty to take with us on this trip. I thought that was a great idea. It doesn't take up much room at all. (We drive down.)

I am sorry, what is this? Is is a laundry detergent? :confused3

Stain stick !!! How I miss this mouth I'll never know :rotfl2: but I seem to do it every trip. It has saved many clothes from getting ruined and I dont't have to worry about treating them when I get home.

1. Excederine and Imitrex
2. Cold Medicine
3. Carabiner water bottle clips

'nuff said!

Here is my must have list for inside the parks. We bring a stoller for DD so I leave a small backpack in the underneath basket with these things in it:

- Ponchos
-change of clothes for DD
-change of socks for All
-Suncreen/Chap stick
-Band Aids/ Blister shield
-Small Fans
-Wipes/ Ani-bacterial gel

Also, mark the stoller with a ribbon or bandana to find it easily in stroller parking! ( This was the best tip I got for our first trip :thumbsup2 )

Just read the last post ( :thumbsup2 ).

Read this on another thread here on the boards.....Tie a diaper (in a baggie/plastic bag) onto your stroller handle (those Disney strollers all look alike) and pour a coke over it, so it will look soiled. (I know--too gross!)

But, the poster swore no one would steal your stroller! :thumbsup2

In our disney bags last yr., a friend of ours put the heat-warmers packets in there. The non-hunter I am, I've never heard of them. They were perfect for our Jan. trip. We kept them in our pockets and socks to keep warm watching Wishes and Illuminations! Can't wait to get some more!

:lmao: :rotfl2: :rotfl:

the is the grossest, funniest thing I've ever read!!! I spit diet coke out and choked a bit when I read it!!! :rotfl:

A cheap shower curtain and those 3M removable hooks. When you have 4 people in a room you can hang it upby the sinks in that doorway and two people can get dressed at once.
Definately glow bracelets. They are way too expensive at the parks.
Nail clippers, we have used them too many times to count!

I'm just smiling at this, we are searching everywhere to find something to cool us down for when we go in June....and there you are finding something to keep you warm :rotfl:

Now if we could just bottle up some of the heat for you and some of the cool for me, we would be all set :thumbsup2

Vaseline. If you plan to get a henna tattoo, you will need the Vaseline to put on it for when you shower and go swimming. I didn't know that the last time we got one and went to buy it at the Sundries shop at the Boardwalk and they don't sell it.

I will bring it next time.

Bandaids for blisters!!!
Also don't forget sunblock, aloe vera lotion for burns, aspirin, and antacid tablets. And a camera.

Thanks for the heads up on the vaseline. My daughter was just talking about getting one this trip and I would have never known that we needed to bring that. Can I ask what it's for? Is this to help the tattoo last longer ? And if so, approximatley how long do they last?

I like to bring a couple of clothes pins, the type with the spring. I use them to keep the curtains closed. Sometimes the curtains don't close all the way. Light shinning in my face will wake me up or keep me from falling asleep. It is also great when you have had a late Disney night and want to sleep in. :cat:

You put it on the tattoo to sort of "waterproof" it. It makes the color last longer. As for how long they last it really depends. It lasted much longer on my dd (with her Italian skin) than it did on me (with my pasty Irish skin.)

I have never done this, but I have heard that if you get a henna tattoo early in your trip that you can go back and they will touch it up for you before you leave. I am not sure if I want the tattoo early in my trip (because of having to put the vaseline on for swimming and showering or if I want to wait until one of my last days to get it for when I come home.

That is funny! Hey, we live in the deep south with humid weather like Florida's. As long as we can we will go during the cold months. One of my tips for the hot weather is the mist fans and lot of cold water!
Have fun!

Henna tatoos usually last anywhere from 1 week to a month, depending on how well you take care of them. Mine usually last about 2 weeks. You need to let your henna tatoo dry at least 6 hours, preferably overnight. If the person really knows what they're doing, they'll apply a coating of sugar and lemon juice 15 minutes after application to create a glaze (the henna crust won't come off as easy). Then, the next morning, use a spoon and oil to get the crust off. The tatoo will be orange at first, but over a couple days will turn brown. DO NOT get black- ONLY brown. You should try to avoid swimming in chlorine, but if you have to, apply vaseline every hour or so. Same thing goes for before you get in the shower or bath. Water will fade the stain quicker (or anything that removes skin cells). Also watch out for sweating. Get the tattoo someplace where you're not going to sweat constantly (ie. your arm instead of your lower back). Hope this helps!

Thank you so much for the tips. I had no idea what the process was.
