HEY MAYERS!!!

I'm enjoying a mellow day at the Contemporary (and maybe MK) before checking in for CP tomorrow morning and the CR has computers w/ complimentary internet access in the rooms (double-yay!) I've hit all the parks except DAK, because it was kind of rainy yesterday morning, so I decided to go to DTD instead....I've got 8 months, I'll get there eventually :)

I have lots of pics to share once my computer arrives and I can get them off the camera,

I'll post more about everything thus far later this evening, right now, I think I'm going to go see about some lunch

Okay, here's my news...

I'M A MAYer!!!

Really, I am.

Only I will be a MAYer on the other coast!!!!

Seacrest, I'm coming to DISNEY LAND!!!!!

No specifics yet, other than Mark's sales meeting in May is in Huntington Beach. He came home and said plan a trip, we're going to DisneyLand. Oh. My. Gosh.

I'm bouncing off the walls.:dance3:

JO

PS>>>
Good Morning MAYers!

HOORAY! You'll be our part of the west coast faction of Mayers!!! We're going bi-coastal :woohoo:

We have postponed our trip we were going to take in May!....BECAUSE……

We are pregnant!!!

:cloud9:

All I do now is work and sleep! lol

Congrats Mella!!!!

Hellllloooo MAYERS!!!!!

I sure have missed you all! I am sorry I stopped posting. I get really depressed thinking about wdw when i don't have a trip in the works and life got really crazy over here.
How is everyone? Are any of you planning trips in May? How are all your kiddos?
We are planning a trip in November. I was browsing the dis last night and I was a thread for Novemberers from our own Jobird!
Isabella's doing great -she asks to go to Disney just about every day ( she is so my daughter!) AND we are expecting a baby boy in April!
Jo told me Mella is pregnant too - congrats Mella!
I hope you are all doing well! I think it is so awesome how you have kept up this thread

More Congrats for Elly!!!

YAY sulley... i'm happy you are having a wonderful time.... enjoy it we will see you in May.... What park are you hoping to work at??? Can't wait to see that pics...

Mornin!

Sulley, it's so good to hear from you! Can't wait for all the details of your trip and then everything to do with the CP.

Huggie, I love California Grill. We ate there last Mother's Day. Make sure you request a window seat before you go. You'll be able to see Wishes if you're there at the time of the show. It probably has the best view of anywhere on site. You'll love it. The food is wonderful; the steak is awesome. If you like sushi, Dh said it's probably some of the best around. I don't eat it.
All in all, it's a great choice. :thumbsup2

This weather is awful. It's 9 degrees, but the weather says it feels like -7 degrees. I guess it could be worse. I'll just sit inside and make plans for our trips.:woohoo:

yay!!

Drew made 3 goals yesterday in soccer. Belle just ran after the ball.:goodvibes She is feeling bit better.
Shelly, glad your little one is feeling better. I hate winter and all the gross stuff that goes around.

Oh holy cow, I forgot to tell you all...
We told the kids last night about the October trip!!!!
We decided to just tell them everything, including the trip to see the Gators play football. We told them at supper. Mark said "We have a secret to tell you." Mary Cat looked at me like "I hope you aren't pregnant."

They were shocked, in disbelief. Mary Cat was so excited she got up early and made us coffee!!!!!!!:rotfl2: What a sweet daughter.:rotfl:

I started something with them a month ago, for them to earn money for the trip.
At the beginning of every month, they are given $20 each. All they have to do is keep their rooms and bathroom clean. For every day it doesn't get done, they owe "the bank" (me) $1. At the end of the month, whatever is left over is theirs to keep. So far they have been pretty good.

Drew has lost $2, and Belle has lost $3. Mary Cat, the miser, hasn't lost a penny.
What ever they get between now and then is their spending money. I told them they have the potential of earning a ton of money, so we'll see.

I'll be in and out for the next few hours. Hope someone checks in...
:grouphug:

Jo

Hey Jo... That is a great Idea with your DK's. Good way for them to have thier own spending money. Me and my DH are actually putting away our tax return money for spending money. I was hoping that my family gave my DD dis Dollars for xmas but no such luck. I can't wait for WDW... it's 4 months away and i'm already getting excited.

Sulley- We miss you!!! Glad you are having fun!!! Can't wait for the pictures.

Jo- That is awesome that you guys told the kids. I would of loved to see their faces. Thanks for the heads up for California Grill. I made a 7:30pm ressie and Wishes is at 9pm. So I think we should be there for wishes. Trust me I can milk it until then.

Ok we are off to a christening party. TTYL

Mari-
That's good that you have the tax money to use. We are going to have to pay this year, I'm afraid. The move and the rental just really screwed us up. we haven't gotten our taxes done yet, and I am anxious to get them to our accountant to see how bad it is.:headache: I am still saving money--$20 each time I go to the store gets pulled out. so far I have a good amount saved, but it will pay for our food in October. I'm not sure yet about the DL trip... DH's bonus, I guess??:confused3

Huggie- That will be a fine time for your ressies. It will take that long. They pipe in the muxic to Wishes and you can go outside to view it, but we stayed inside. It was breathtaking, actually.:cloud9:

I've been on AllEars printing out menus and such to DL. I am excited!!! Yay!!!

Jo

YAY Jo i'm excited for you and your DL trip... i still haven't printed out the menus yet i'm actually thinking of canceling some ADR's and making one for California Grill. I was looking over my ADR's and i feel like we have too many.... i might just cacnel the ones i have set for lunch and just to a CS instead.... so i will be changing around some adrs... we'll see what happens....

You might be happier, Mari, if you just do more CS for lunch. I'm afraid you are going tofeel like you're running form one place to another, just to eat.

Personally, I love the Columbia Harbor House in the MK. It's across from the HM. But I usually order salads everywhere we go when we are touring, unless I am ravenous. Then I get a burger.

Jo

All right, here's my mini-report of my time in WDW thus far :) PS...Really Long Post Ahead!!

My dad got up and drove me to the airport Tuesday morning, we managed to leave the house by 3:30, which was the goal. My flights were wonderfully uneventful, and I actually arrived at MCO about 20 min ahead of schedule. Since I hadn't eaten any real food since I left the house and it was now about 12:30, I decided to get some food before going to the DME desk. Had lunch at Chik-fil-a in the airport which was quite a treat since we don't have them back home.

DME got me to the VWL around 1:45, and it only took about 10 minutes to check in. After dropping off my carryons in the room I headed over to MK. There really wasn't any crowds at all. My first ride was PotC, which is always my first. From there I wandered around some and rode Peter Pan, IASW, TTA, and Buzz. I was able to walk on to everything except Peter Pan, but even that only had a 15 minute or so wait.

For dinner I had a ADR at Crystal Palace, which was a really fun meal and all of the characters stopped by at least once.

I rarely will get to the park for rope drop and don't stay until closing ever, and this trip was no different. I like to take things slowly, and since I'm too much of a chicken to ride the popular rides, I don't have a lot of issues with lines. Also to save money, I decided not to get the DDP and only ate CS with the exception of CP the first night.

On Wednesday I went to DHS, which was also pretty empty, at least compared to previous trips. I'd only been there once before, I didn't go there the last two times, so I wanted to reacquaint myself with the park. The first ride I went on was The Great Movie Ride...I'd never been on it before, and on the way in, I got a Dream Fastpass!! It was a fun ride, and since I love classic movies, it was a neat way to see scene from some of them. I then went through the animation presentation and learn to draw a character session. I also saw Voyage of the Little Mermaid and Lights Motors Action which were great fun. The last thing I did at the park was go on the Backlot Tour. For lunch I had a turkey leg which was yummy.

After heading back to the hotel for an afternoon break I decided to go over to Capt. Cooke's at the Poly for dinner. I had the Multigrain Club which was great!

Thursday I went to Epcot, I started by riding Soarin' twice in about 30 minutes, then Livin With the Land and Soarin' again. I could ride Soarin' over and over and over again, without getting tired of it :). I then rode the newly refurbished Spaceship Earth. I really enjoyed the upgrades and think that Judi Dench does a great job narrating it. I then spent some time walking around World Showcase. I stopped in Norway for some School Bread, which was...interesting, and I rode Maelstrom. I also rode Gran Fiesta Tour in Mexico. I headed back to Future World and stopped at a hot dog stand for some lunch, where I met two girls who were on their first day of actual work for the college program...There were tons of CMs that had the "Earning My Ears" tag, most of them CPers. I rode Ellen's Energy Adventure after enjoying my hot dog.

That evening I went to DTD for Earl of Sandwich and some Chocolate, Peanut and Caramel coated marshmallows from Goofy's Candy Co.

Friday was another day at MK...I again started the day at PotC. I considered riding BTMRR (which is one of my goals for the next 8 months) and even went as far as getting a FP for it, but chickened out again....I WILL DO IT though. I did ride HM and survive, which was a big step for me. I grabbed lunch at Pinnochio's Village Haus. You would not believe the mess created when a 32oz soda falls and explodes out of the cup! There was soda EVERYWHERE!

I also rode Dumbo and while waiting in line for it, it started raining again. I decided to go into Philharmagic and hopefully allow the rain to stop again. It was the first time I've watched it all the way through with the 3D glasses on. Normally I have to take them off, it's just too overstimulating. After coming out, it was still raining, so I decided to call it a day and head back to the resort.

I grabbed dinner from Roaring Forks at the Lodge. I had their chili, which was really good!

Yesterday I planned on going to DAK, but when I woke up, it was sprinkling and just all around humid and yucky....I decided to go back to Capt. Cooke's and get a breakfast of Tonga Toast!!! If you like bananas, you have to try this! I rode the monorail back to the Contemp and took the boat back to the Lodge. I had already read the two books I brought with me, so I decided to go over to DTD again to the Virgin Megastore and see about getting another one.

After finding a book, I meandered around for a while and decided to go over to the Beach Club for lunch at Beaches and Cream....I had the Hot Roast Beef sandwich, which was very similar to a cheesesteak. The only problem was it filled me up so I didn't want any ice cream :)....I rode the boat over to DHS and grabbed the bus back to the WL. I needed to do laundry, so I started that and while it was drying, I decided to get in the pool....It was definitely warm enough yesterday and the water was really pleasant. After all the laundry was done, I turned on the TV to find that we were under a Tornado watch and that there was a Tornado warning to the west with a nasty line of storms heading the direction.

I considered going to MK to grab some dinner, and decided against it, which was a good thing considering two minutes after I got back inside from the walkway to the dock, the skies opened up. I grabbed a sandwich and snacks from Roaring Forks, and checked out a couple movies to watch that evening and curled up to enjoy the evening.

This morning, it was chilly....It was definitely sweater weather for me, but nowhere near as cold as everyone else is. I checked out of VWL and checked into the CR. I've got a room on the 8th floor with an AWESOME view of the castle (definitely will have pics of this)...and I'm just spending the day relaxing before the insanity of tomorrow hits....The parks, especially MK are super busy today. There was a definite upswing in crowds starting Friday afternoon, the transportation got a lot busier and the parks just look a lot more crowded.

All right....end of report....sorry for it being sooooo long! :)

Yay Sulley!!!

I soooo much enjoyed your TR. I really felt like i was there and could imagine everything you were describing! Thanks so much for taking the time to update us. We are so excited for you and hope that you will enjoy your time.

When do you check out of the CR and into your apt? Where do you have to go tomorrow to begin training? I can't wait to hear all about the tunnels!!!! I want to go into them.:goodvibes

Sounds like you are eating really good. You haven't had a Dole WHip yet??? I want a float so bad. I can't wait to get one at DL.
Have you been there before?

When do your parents come out for a visit? I hope you don't get homesick. Just go visit Mickey is you do.

Can't wait to see the pics...
Hugs to you, Sulley!

I check-in at the apartments tomorrow morning. I actually won't start training until Wednesday or Thursday with Traditions and then I'll start training at my location after that.

Tomorrow will be moving in, Walmart run, and housing meeting. Tuesday's when I find out where I'll be working and registering for Disney classes.

I've had Dole Whips before....YUMMY!....I'm thinking about getting dinner at Capt. Cooke's again tonight, since Tempo Grab n Go (CR's CS) doesn't have a very good selection, and if I do that maybe I'll have to get one there (they have a self-serve dole whip machine!

My parents are coming for a visit Feb 2-9....so just a couple weeks. I've already talked to them 4 or 5 times since getting here....Luckily this isn't my first time away from home, when I went to school in WV, the closest family was about 6 hours away...At least here I have family and friends just a couple hours away, near Gainesville and more family in Miami.

 Hey Sulley! Thanks for checking in! Sounds like you are having a nice time. How's the weather? It's 12 degrees here! :sad2: That was the high today!

You are making me hungry with all the talk about Disney restaurants! I can't wait to see your pictures! And here about where you will be working!

Hey, you need another ticker counting down the days until the MAYers come visit you!! :yay: :snooty:

The weather's been all over the place this week, but not quite that cold :)....Today it only got to 55, though yesterday it was in the 80s....I've worn everything from a bathing suit to jeans and a sweater (and was still a bit chilly...the wind was fierce today) this week.

It's sure was cold today! I woke up and my computer temp said that it was only 9 degrees outside!
One thing that did come in handy was when I went to pick up the pizza for my family's supper tonight I set a can of pop outside because it was warm and when I came back it was ice cold :drinking1

Sulley-Thanks for the trip report. Glad you are having fun!! I am so jealous. I cant wait to find out where you are working.

Hi Sulley :wave2: I'm Kait and new to the Mayer board. That's so cool you're doing the College Program. I was looking into it, but wasn't so sure about moving away from my family. :guilty: I would have loved to be able to work at Disney though. :thumbsup2
