We also ship a box of toiletry items and our snokel gear along with anything else that will fit into a box. I think it costed about $18.00 from Long Island. It was great not having to lug all that extra stuff in our suitcases:love:
When we arrived @ our stateroom the box was already there:banana:

:happytv:

And didn't the tape come with some stretchy rubber band things? What was I thinking? I was 19!

You must have bought the DELUXE model....mine was just the VCR tape. I think I bought it at Walmart when I was in those...I really need to start exercising modes!

So you just ship the liquor from home? Didn't any of the bottles break? I am such a worry wart when it comes to things like that. Is it legal to ship alcohol? How did you know that it got there for sure? I would be worried that it didn't make it there!

You have the liquor shipped from a place in Port Canavnal(sp) they have a web site. The liquor is boxed professionally and guaranteed not to be broken upon arrival. You can select any kind of wine-liquor ect that they carry. We found this to be a great savings and have passed the info along to many others and never had a problem:hug:

We will be using them again along with other member of our group....

Let me know if you would like the link

....It's all free unless you get it from room service or order it at a bar. An exception to "ordering it" is when you are in the dining room. ....
Just to clarify...did you mean that "ordering it" in the dining room means you'll be charged?...

Sorry if that wasn't clear! Vikki, if you're wondering yourself, ordering in the dining room will NOT have a fee. Otherwise, any other place that you place an order for a Cast Member to get a soda for you, you will be charged (in a bar and room service for example).

Kimberly.........Love the Bling-Bling:3dglasses

Will have to make sure my wife doesn't see this post:surfweb:

:rotfl2: :rotfl2: Well it could be a Valentine or Mother's Day gift! :rolleyes1

Ohhhh...that Mickey Confetti line is so cute! The only thing I ever purchased from QVC was in college....it was this octagon shaped cupcake carrier that flattened down to store....

:happytv: OMG...I have TWO of those Piatto Bakery Boxes! I remember Joy Mangano selling those on QVC!!

Yes...I love the Mickey Confetti bling. LOOOVVVE IT!

Actually, QVC is a huge timesaver for me, and I have found so many quality products. I even have items shipped to me on auto delivery so I don't even have to worry about running out of something like my hair/skin care products (I love Ojon!!) and my multi-vitamins. I love my 700 thread count sheets, featherbed, Dell laptop, Orek vacuum, Dennis Basso coats, Dooney and Bourke purses/travel bags, and so much more that I bought from QVC. Now...if I only would put my Pilates to use....hmmmmmm.

:happytv:

And didn't the tape come with some stretchy rubber band things? What was I thinking? I was 19!

OMG again! :lmao: I think I still have those toning rings somewhere around here Too funny!!

Lots to catch up on here:)

First off to the midwesterners: You could have kept the ice storm:rotfl: There was really no need to send it our way;) Actually we had a much lighter version than you all did. You poor things.

Kimberly: Love the bling:goodvibes And even more importantly, I am thrilled you were able to work out having your grandma join you on the cruise. I can't wait to hear how she reacts when you tell her.

Newport News quality: Well, I have alwasy found hte swimsuits to be a good quality. As for the clothes I got, the knight cottons are a nice thick fabric and i am pretty impressed. The woven cottons are okay but pretty darn thin fabric. Most anything for that price (or even much more) generally is, so I was not unhappy. I was very happy with the fits and styles--styles I have a hard time finding anywhere else (not a lot of shopping up here in NH).

Soda at meals: It has alwasy been free for us. I drink Coke and DH drinks Ginger Ale at every meal and we have only been charged for it once. That was at Palos Brunch on the repo cruise last May. FiL was treating and I did not know we were charged for my soda until after we left or else I would have said somehitng. I do not think we were supposed to be.

Dance Class: Heather, I am sorry that did not work out for Reese. Ballet is VERY slow moving and disciplined. I am surprised tha a combo class for htat age is doing it htat way though. Gerneally at the younger ages the studios do more of a creative movement thing with very little realy ballet in there just to keep the excited and haivng fun and the real hard core stuff which requires some serious dedication does not start until around age 8 or 9 (Rio moved out of "baby ballet" and into "real ballet" this year).

Alcohol: I believe the "official" policy is that you cannot bring it onbaord. HAving said htat we (and most people) do not hide it at all and have never run into a problem. We usaully just bring a bottle of rum to mix into the Coke frmo deck 9. Taht's plenty for us. Someone reffered to shipping it to the room. DCL no longer allows ANY liquids to be shipped to rooms. If you are using a towncar service to get to port (we use Tiffany TOwncar) most will make a quick stop at a grocery or liquor store for you if you request it when you book. This is what we do to avoid bringing the rum on the plane.

I have done this plenty of times without any problem....where did you see that DCL no longer allows it to be shipped onboard?

I have a phone call into the store that I use to double-check

charlie:woohoo:

Oh I am sooooo confused. You mean the drinks that you get at dinner service in the dining rooms are FREE? We were charged for every drink in the dining room...and they were only Diet Cokes. We were so surprised when we got our final bill with the totals....not that there were that many charged (we didn't eat in the dining room but twice), but I thought they were free.

So everyone is SURE there is no charge for pops in the dining room? :confused3

Reading posts which came in while I was typing. I think Videoman's way of getting liquor on board probably would work as technically that would be having it DELIVERED. But SHIPPING it (yourself or straight from the seller) is a no no (and possibly illegal depending on where you live).
You could also order a gift basket from Shirley at The Perfect Gift and have her include your bevarage of choice as well.

I found out that it is a port rule, not a dcl rule for the shipping of liquor, but i have a call into the liquor store i used last time, (they are closed on the weekends), and i will let you know what they say. It is just a very convenient way....hope we still can do it!

Me too ! That would be a great way to get it there without having to lug it on ourselves.........please let us all know when you find out!

Thanks,
Crissi

We will all look forward to your update I am sure.

Heather--No you should NOT have been charged for your soda in the dining room. We never have been on 5 crusies (excpet for that Palo incident). On two of those cruises our only room charges were Palo and tips so I am sure I would have noticed (especially because I can go through 4-5 Cokes in a meal:cutie: ). Also, I sympathize with you about the horrid tablemates. When we were still newish to cruising we sailed Carnival and had terrbile tablemates and did not know we could ask to be relocated either.

Ok, here's a game for adults... Name that drink:

Ingredients
1/2 ounce dark rum
3/4 ounce light rum
1 ounce passion fruit juice
1 pina colada mix
1 ounce orange juice

Directions
Place all ingredients in a cocktail shaker and shake vigorously.
Serve in a tall glass filled with crushed ice. Garnish with a wedge of tropical fruit.

I was just going to say, "ask Erica" but I'll play - Bahama Mama? I could use one about now. On a beach. I am listening to the people next door use a snow blower, and the ones behind us are shoveling their roof.
