The Dis Goes to Italy 5/24 - 6/1/2012 Viva Italia!!!!

Well, isn't that all a bit misleading.

I would be excited to stay at the place in your first link.

That looked great.

And they made the "serf's quarters" look charming as well. I can almost hear the swallows.

That being said...did anyone else start the symptoms of post traumatic stress disorder just looking at those pictures?

:rotfl: :rotfl2: :rotfl:

I love your pictures, Heather! And I just have to say that if I ever have to be stuck in a Tuscan prison, I would hope it would be with all of you!!!

Laurie

You're always welcome in my cell block!

I'm again reminded of what I already knew:

Only go places with Heather!

And I need a 300mm.

Great Pope photos! You also got enough close ups of the poor bird/holy spirit that I'm thinking about doing a layout just on him entitled So There Was This Bird! :rotfl:

Fabulous pictures, Heather!! You can really see how much we liked Christina...I wonder if she normally has every person in the tour group hugging her on the last day in Rome. I bet she does. :) I love that you got the pictures of Franco. He looks so calm in all of them.

Interestingly enough I guess my cold medicine has been shielding me from the post vacation blues up until this point, or maybe I was so sick I didn't notice the blues. But I do today. :sad2:

Plus, looking at Heather's photos of Kevin and the pottery in Kevin and John's pottery store made me really mad that I didn't buckle down and buy a piece. I really wanted to. But I had Jeri with me who can pretty much talk me out of anything and doesn't spend money if he can help it. So we can all see what happened there. Next time we need a plan to distract Jeri while people help me pick out a piece of pottery (or whatever it is) Somebody say, hey, Jeri, want to grab a beer? And then I'll slip away. That'll work. We may need a beer team and a shopping team.

So in order to lift my spirits, I've been planning. Yeah, I've got 200 pages of depo on my desk that need to go out and relatives coming in to visit tomorrow, but it's all about priorities, isn't it?

Our next known trip is 4.0. Super excited! I'm riding the AquaDuck even if it's freezing tail cold like it was on 2.0! I will NOT chicken out! Nope. No, sir.

There will probably be a mini break somewhere in the fall for a long weekend. We kind of blew our vacation on Italy but if we don't take some kind of break there's going to be some crazy people coming on 4.0 I can tell ya. Or maybe crazy - er people.

Then in March over St. Patrick's Day we will be at the World for our week. I can't wait. We're staying at Wilderness right now, which is lovely, but I'm going to try for Boardwalk just because we haven't stayed there in so long and I really like that area. If anybody wants to rent my house for St. Pats let me know. Must love two cats. I know a lot of people enjoy St. Pats here in Savannah, but I'm just totally over it.

And then I must contact my favorite ABD Dream Agent Kevin (when he gives me the high sign. I'm waiting patiently and not being a pest. Star for me!) for the Backstage Magic in December. I was wavering, but the video the Dis has on You Tube wavered me right back the other way. Whoever did the Cars Land video, Man, great work! We just can't swing Germany and Italy so close to each other (according to some non-pottery appreciating people) But California is doable. I hope some of my peeps will be there!

Also in there my sister is having a baby :cloud9: and my brother is graduating from high school . And Jeri wants to do another 1/2 marathon somewhere in there. It's shaping up to be a busy year.

Now all I have to do is get off the sofa of depression and get moving! ;)

I will always volunteer for this tough assignment. Just give me the sign.

I'm also kicking myself for not buying more, including at Kevin's pottery shop. But then again, it was a good thing I was sitting down when I signed the customs form (which Cathie prepared in such detail that she had to redo the form 2x). We were $19 over the threshold and I was like, $19, really? (Thankfully, so far at least, the customs agents didn't seem to care.)

I've got the first batch of photos up on Flickr:

Let me know if you need help getting photos from the site.
I'm working on the next batch now.

Heather,

Thank you for sharing, your photos are wonderful!

By the way, Cathy and I unpacked our large box of ceramics from Orvieto over the weekend, everything was in perfect condition and a terrific reminder of our day in Tuscany.

I was told that I am not allowed to touch the new biscotti jar even though it is full of fresh cookies.

Not sure if this is because I can be clumsy or because I need to lose weight. :confused3

I'm also waiting for the announcement to start bookings for ABD next year. I'm also considering Backstage Magic but don't know which date yet. I'm trying to talk myself out of Germany. I really want to do an Ireland trip in 2014 and think BSM will be more manageable budget-wise for 2013.

If I was that kind of person, I'd post "I told you so."

Thank the Dove that I'm not that kind of person.

My pottery has arrived and after seeing the bill for duty and taxes I am sort of regretting buying so much!!!

Kevin did tell me so. He gets all the points.

Did somebody say cookies??!!

Tracey: Photos of your haul! You know, in your spare time! :goodvibes

Christy: DL at Christmas, Haunted Mansion and Small World overlay :santa:. Far away from any family drama (that part could just be me though) Come on, you know ya wanna! I'm great at peer pressure! :littleangel:

Hey John and Micki! I sent y'all a pic the other day but I used an email I had from our first BSM. I hope it's still good. Be on the lookout for it!

As soon as I have signed contracts.......

I promise! Y'all will be hearing from me.
:thumbsup2

I'm trying to get over the post vacation blues by thinking about a probable WDW trip this fall (want to see what the room discounts look like for November), and next year's ABD's. Now that I'm over the jet lag, I feel like I can do the Germany trip, also very intrigued by what I'm hearing/seeing with Cars Land, maybe a BSM is a possibility!

Hope everyone is doing well!
Jason
