***Hey, Hey! Come right in and plan, OFFICIAL OCTOBER 2017 thread!!!***

My hubs decided to pick up a last minute Hawaii trip with the Air Force reserves. He's a pilot and is trying to earn enough hour to get an airline job. Yay for free flights to Disney. However it's kind of annoying that the week before we leave he's going to be golfing and flying all day in Hawaii! ‍♀️

Everything is in order! First time going to F&W, I finally have my F&W list of food to try finalized (whew, so many things I wanted to eat!)! Just need to score BOG for dinner~ (Hoping for cancellations :rolleyes1)

I am leaving in 20 days!!! :yay:

Ok, now I know that everyone says that weather forecasts more than a day or two out are not reliable but...they are calling for thunder storms every day next week...:umbrella:. I have ponchos and I bought some new quick dry socks and shorts and my shoes should be ok for rain. I am considering bringing our umbrellas. Any other words of wisdom about making a week full of possible thunder storms (forecasted day and night) a good experience.

Also after watching the last few parties sell out should I go ahead and buy my party tix now-I was planning to wait until Monday to see how the weather is shaking out for Tuesday before committing since I planned things so that either Tuesday or Thursday would work but now I am nervous that both could sell out.

Its the final count down :hourglass :cheer2::banana::dancer:party::yay::hourglass

I would keep check and check the October canceled thread on the Disboards. I know I have to cancel a BOG dinner this weekend for our early October trip and will be posting on the board.

Our bands shipped today too!!! :jumping1::jumping1::jumping1:

Ours shipped also! :yay:

Now to just wait, at least I have trying to plan our FP's for the December trip to keep me busy, book those on 10/14. After that I will start packing!

Edited to add.... looks like Magic Bands will be delivered today! Totally shocked they didnt travel around the US before arrive like they did last year.

Magic Bands Shipped!

I have all my fast passes, I have all my ADRs and a pretty good plan - but now I'm really starting to wonder about snacks, and QS meals outside of F&W Fest....

Any tips, recommendations, can't miss items for each park?

One month!!!! party:

Our Magic Bands are labeled as "being customized" as of this morning, I'm trying to make my parents figure out what they want so I can preorder BOG breakfast, and I'm sending the initial email for ODS' birthday cake at Chef Mickey on Monday. I need something else to do!

We like Sunshine Seasons at Epcot for QS and Columbia Harbor House at MK.Depends on what you like! I really want to try Satu'li Canteen at AK. And YDS really wants to get the Darth Vader waffles at a QS at HS. (Backlot, I think?)

As far as snacks, we have to get Dole Whips (adults) and Mickey Bars (kids) at least once. I've noticed a lot of the ice cream places have bona fide sundaes for snack credits, and my dad will be all over that. And I can't wait to get something at the caramel place in Germany in Epcot and the ice cream place in France in Epcot.

I'm more about the salty than the sweet, though, so I'm hoping to find a few more snack-y things of that sort. I adore the cheesy pesto bread (snack credit!) at AoA food court.

Right now my list is very unorganized but some I have on my need to try list-
Dole Whip (of course)
Mickey Bar (for me...and my daughter can have a bite)
Fruit & Nutella Waffle Sandwich @ Sleepy Hallows
BBQ Pork Waffle Fries
Pot Roast Mac & Cheese
Sweet & Spicy Chicken Waffle
Churros
A specialty apple, and a mickey rice Krispie treat
Almost everything at Epcot
Pulled Buffalo Chicken Waffle - AK
Baked Lobster Mac & Cheese - AK

I am considering bringing our umbrellas.
I love using an umbrella at Disney. It keeps your face and head dry, something that a poncho can't do. And ponchos get hot and are awkward to fold and store when wet. I have very small and lightweight umbrellas and bring a small trash bag, like a 4 gallon size, to store the wet umbrellas. The small umbrellas cover my head and shoulders but don't poke other people, a common problem with using umbrellas in a crowd.

I prefer an umbrella and my lightweight rain jacket to a poncho. I bought two ponchos a couple years ago for my husband and I. He has used his poncho several times but so far, an umbrella and lightweight jacket have been good enough for me. :)

You just hit all my favorites! Like every one! Outside of the lounges snacks/drinks (Nomad is really really good)

Disney just announced that it is extending the 20% off discount for annual passholders. This discount covered some counter service restaurants and table service restaurants at the Disney resorts, plus some of the counter service restaurants in the parks. This 20% discount began Oct 1st last year, the day we checked in to our resort and was supposed to expire 9/30/17. This discount has saved us a lot of money and I am thrilled that it has been extended. :)

If it helps, you can pre-order something you think they'd like, and make changes almost up until that ADR. And, quite literally make a change when your rose "buzzes" and you pay. So, if they originally ordered a waffle, but then wanted just fruit (whatever!) just swap it before you pay. ;) BUT ALWAYS PRE-ORDER (which it seems like you know)

I can't decide what grocery delivery to use! I have Amazon Prime so Prime Now is an option. Garden Grocer is nice since you don't have to be there for delivery. Publix Instacart is great because PUBLIX, it's been so long since I've been able to shop at Publix.
