Why does everyone hate the All Stars

So after 2yrs watching disney yt videos and a couple months on the dis boards, I have noticed so many people hating on the All Stars. I have stayed at every all star resort and haven't had any problems. We've stayed at movies the most at least 3-5 times (it's one of our favorites). Can I just ask ya'll, straight up, what is the big problem with these resorts? and please don't list the following: tourists, teenagers, school groups, sport groups, etc.

honestly....the food courts...I think they are a nightmare...food all over the floors. You wait forever for food to come and people steal all the condiments to take to their room. The drinks machines are always a mess. The pools are too crowded. No hot tubs. Small rooms. Noise level unreal.

The mattresses in our room at All Star Music were terrible. I usually am so exhausted at Disney I sleep like the dead. But, on those beds I was tossing and turning all night. So, I won't be back until the refurbishment on them are done. Other than that we didn't mind the rest of the resort.

Sorry but the only issue / problem with the All Starts is with your last 2 groups at any age due to large group sizes and the normal noise that a large group tends to make at any location.

I have only stayed at All Star Movies. I stayed there many times when my son was younger. He loved the theming and quite frankly so did I. I can see why your family loves it. It is adorable! The only reason we switched from there to Pop for our two week trips is because Pop doesn't have to share buses like the All Stars do.

I don't hate the AllStars at all. I had two great stays at Music, but ever since I stayed at Pop, I just don't want to ever go back to the AllStars. I just love the vibe and the lake set Pop. It feels peaceful.

But those are among the reasons that we don't care for the AllStars. But since you asked, here goes:

Food Court - chaotic, crowded, often dirty
Pool - loud, rambunctious and unsupervised child and adults who use foul language. Yes, I know that this happens in even the best resorts but because a lot of people are occupying a smaller space, you notice it more at the AllStars
Rooms - small, poor sound insulation and lacking in the additional comforts, like a coffeemaker., that you would expect in any roadside motel
Transportation - either drive or rent a car (and pay an additional fee to park it) or submit to being at the mercy of Disney bus transportation. There's no taking a monorail, a boat or walking anywhere.​

Overall, staying in any Value Resort has not been enjoyable for us. We tolerate them for a night if we are arriving late and want to save a few DVC points but I would never elect to stay in any of them for more than that.

I'm sorry to be a pain but I don't understand this request. If those reasons are honestly why someone doesn't like the resort, wouldn't you want to know that is the reason and then you can discount those reasons if you choose?

Hate is a strong word!

I do not like the All stars because

1) The theme is a little cartoony for me, and I prefer not to have a GIANT sign over my room saying "Can you dig it" and such!
2) The ALL Star hotels are quite a distance from the parks. Im not a fan of waiting for Disney buses too, so if Im going to be driving a rental everywhere, I would choose a larger, more toned down hotel room in Disney Springs for about the same amount of money.

If someone invited me to stay there, I would, but I would never pick them myself.

All of this ^^^ 100% agree with-noise is insane. To me the all stars are so disruptive. Even at late hours the corridors are so loud and you hear so many ppl going by. I won’t say never but likely doubt we’d ever stay at an AS again. They’re not a good choice from my perspective -the food choices, service, noise level and overall appeal just doesn’t work for us. Even the CM that work there aren’t very happy.

We actually had good experiences at all of the All Stars! I thought the rooms were clean and comfortable and the resorts pretty. We stay at moderates and deluxe as well and we're still happy to stay at the All Stars when we're on a budget trip! Maybe it's that our expectations change at the different resort levels. We sure do expect more at a moderate and more yet at a deluxe.

I do agree with the food court problem, We stayed at sports for a week and we went to the food court a couple of times but there was one time me and my sister were there and we got milkshakes, my sisters was fine, however, my was disgusting! It was not even Ice cream, it was basically milk, the ice cream was melted. I wish I would've asked for my money back because I'm sure if I would've shown the employees, they would given me something in return. and they also weren't the cleanest.

We just went in March with a dance team and stayed at All Star Sports. We'd only stayed before at Grand Floridian and Polynesian, so we knew to expect a lot less. We went in with low expectations but were pleasantly surprised. Yes, they are budget, but bed was fine, liked the sink separate from toilet/shower. Rooms were larger than we expected. Food court was crazy, especially one morning at 8 AM with a bunch of groups. Food court did have a decent assortment of food. Got pizza one night, 1/2 roasted chicken, grilled chicken caesar salad.
They did a good job with our group, our 5 rooms were all there together in a row.

I found the mattresses at CBR after the refurb so comfortable I am looking into buying one. And we just came back from a week at BC, and the mattresses there were also very comfortable.

Recently DIS Unplugged reviewed All Star Movies. Pete Werner was even impressed with the resort and he's a self admitted deluxe resort snob. The only thing my family doesn't like about the All Stars is that the room and beds are a bit tight when your family is all adult size.

Not as many school/sports/foreign school groups stay anywhere EXCEPT values r/t price.
We have stayed at both mods and deluxe and have never yet encountered a rowdy group of kids, of any age.
We have chosen to avoid values for the room size, no coffee maker, and large teen crowds in all our Disney visits.
