Ok, so I think the Chase UR portal really is fixed this time. I was just able to pull up multiple resorts and the 2nd screen showed the room choices. I booked CSR for 11k points a night. :worship: Now I am going to watch Hotwire to see if it shows up on there for less, but at least I have a room. DD19 and I are doing a quick 2 night trip in August for DAH. Can't wait. We will fly down sat early morning and home Monday late night, so we have almost 3 full days. pixiedust:

Thanks, that’s how I’m reading it too, helps to know someone else sees it the same way! That’s great about the other offer too, would negate two months of fees!

My other question is on the direct deposit. What did you use for that? I’m a stay-at-home mom, so would have to get creative on that one.

I was able to just switch my direct deposit for a pay period at work to have the direct deposit so I’m no help with that. @gottalovepluto posted a great link I wish I had seen before. I had to wait two pay period to have the new acct added so I would have just used another’s option.

Which resort?

So DH did his first stay at a marriott property last night. They wouldn't use his amex on file (SPG biz). He swiped his CSR instead, since that is what was in his wallet. I guess it doesn't matter that they didn't use it, but anyone know why they wouldn't? He said he asked them to use the card on file and they said no. He didn't know the reason. He is used to hilton and not having to even go to the desk, because he uses the app for check in and the key, so he was already annoyed about going to the desk to begin with.

ETA: Oh and he said the internet was awful. Since he has no status yet I assume he gets the slower speed. I am not sure these growing pains are really worth it. Maybe we should stick with Hilton and not worry about trying to diversify.

That is super strange - they usually have no problem using the card on file. You still may have to swipe something, but when you check out, if you ask to use the card on file usually they will, even if you swiped a different card at check in. Some Marriotts still want to see a cc when I check in (even with status) others waive it off and just want to see an ID. Even with mobile check in, they usually want to see ID at the desk - they are just starting to roll out phone based room keys.

Oh I see. Thank you. I guess the key being on the app makes all the difference between the 2 chains.

Who remembers how to link your chase wdw ressie to MDE? The conf number in the email is apparently not the correct number.

Not every property is going to be the same. The next Marriott might blow him away.

Some SPG properties had the app feature to use your phone to open the door and go to your room skip the desk. I need to go to the desk so someone will tell me where they hid the elevator.

Ok....my breaks over …….back to my lawn care and tree pruning exercise......

I'm torn on the Labor Day trip idea... The latest direct flight with SW on Monday is at 5:30pm, 10650pts. They have one after at 7:05pm for 13640, which adds two hours to the travel time because there's a 1.5hr layover in Dallas. I'm used to being able to pick a 7pm/7:30pm direct flight.

Am I being super crazy about an hour and a half? I feel like I am, now typing it out... I don't see any later non-stops with anyone else.

I did book the flight out there that Fri with SW, and 2 rooms: Wyndham Garden Lake Buena Vista Disney Springs for 25.3k URs because the Disney hotels weren't showing, and now All Star Sports for 39.8k URs. Hmmm... for that price difference I might go with Wyndham since we would just be doing water parks...

I have a problem. Hi, I'm Alyssa and I can't stop looking for the best deals possible even though I'm not using actual money from my budget...

yeah, i saw a truck driving it on the pier.
I'll just ask here because I'm lazy and it's easier. :duck: I haven't been to DL...should I be booking reservations at restaurants on property now for December or is it a lot more laid back than WDW?

Total fail...I applied for the Hilton Aspire and was rejected! Apparently I can't count and already have 5 cc with Amex (oh yeah, I do!). I would have cancelled the only one really eligible EXCEPT I took a retention offer on it a month ago so don't want to annoy Amex. Ugh. Please file that under What Was I Thinking? And Don't Do What Shay Does.

The worst part (other than being embarrassed that I can't count and was denied) is that we have a $4200 insurance bill that would have nicely fit the MSR. Ugh...

Mind if I ask why you chose that specific hotel? I haven't even started researching alaska. You are way ahead of me.
Close enough to port but also Chinatown which we want to visit. Also only 12k Hyatt Points. Others I looked at were Westin Bayshore which looks to have fabulous views. 16k SPG Points.
For the night after cruise I booked Westin Wall Center Airport.

LOL. You can’t even book anything right now because DLR ADRs open 60 days in advance! Yes, it’s a lot more laid back than WDW. However, if there’s a restaurant you know you want to dine, there’s no reason not to book as soon as you can. You can cancel reservations without charge up to the day before. December is a busier time, especially as it gets closer to Christmas and New Year, so it’s a good idea to book ahead. Dining packages, character dining, and more popular restaurants like the Blue Bayou, the new Lamplight Lounge, and Carthay Circle for dinner should always be booked ASAP.
