I love credit cards so much!

I like night touring. It’s so much cooler. I was gross this am within 10 mins of leaving my hotel room. What time is your flight? I tour the parks on departure day but I change clothes in the bathroom at the hotel lol.
originally we were going depart at 10pm Sunday, but when I decided not to do a park I moved it to 3:30pm. I didn't want it too early since DME picks up 3 hours before. I'd like a leisurely morning. I could change it back, but DH has super early meeting in Knoxville Monday morning super early and was requesting I be home early enough for him to leave Sunday night and drive over there. It isn't imperative, but since we can fit in everything we want to do on Fri and Sat I think it is fine to not do a park Sunday.

soooo, I am going to have to call UR to book my disney hotel. Their site still is acting up and only showing poly. The original ressie I made was for Sat-Mon, so I cancelled that and will call to rebook. Do I call the normal line or the cruise/tours people?

Going to Sesame Place next weekend and we like the SpringHill Suites thats right near the park. Marriott direct is 60,000 points. CSR is 30k points for the stay (2 nights). I have DW's new CSR with the 300 travel credit. Thinking of breaking it up and doing 14k URs and the rest will be $300 exactly on her new CSR to get the travel credit out of the way. Thoughts on a better way?

The spring hill suites are walking distance to park so it saves you parking fees, so you can factor that savings in. There is a Sheraton directly across the street (it's a wider/busier street) if that gives you a better option. You can walk, but there isn't a direct path like the springhill

I’m sure you can probably talk to the regular UR reps, but I’ve booked my November stay with cruise and tour. I only did the room and not a package and it’s all worked fine.

ok. Will try the regular people first and then the others if they can't see availability for some reason.

I think the scores you get from the credit card companies and free credit monitoring services are "FACO" scores. They'll give you a good idea what your credit looks like, but take it with a grain of salt. I also wonder if "too many new accounts" refers to your Marriott personal, but should be considered relative to average consumers who may go for years without opening a new credit card. Pulling your real credit reports should give you some clarity.

DoC's rumor seems to suggest Chase might share info re Marriott bonuses with Amex for the SPG Lux, but a lot of comments on /r/churning dismissed that idea. Consensus seemed to be that no way would Chase share that kind of proprietary info with a competitor, and its more likely if Amex is going to use Marriott bonuses as a bar to signups for the SPG Lux, Amex could get info from Marriott about who received a signup bonus in the past 24 months.

Ah, Marriott supplying info sounds much more logical.

I guess I don’t really understand why they would buy it. Don’t they know going in how much shipping would be?
Yeah, it always shows based on your location on the listing. I don't get it either. And for some reason their location is coming up a couple bucks higher with fedex vs usps, even though all the places I tried to compare when making my listing where the same. I think I'm just going to offer to refund the difference and have them take back their negative feedback.

Are you there right now? I’m still debating if I should pack tank tops or T-shirts for next weekend.

That’s a good idea just so you can get rid of the negative feedback. I never buy something if the shipping seems to high. People are weird

Tank tops if you want to burn; tshirts if you want to sweat!

There's really no great choices this time of year in my opinion. I would pack some of those athletic type material tops that absorb and stay dry - I don't know what they are called but places like Nike and Reebok sell them.

Ha I agree with @Judique! I almost always wear tshirts just because I burn super easy, so I'd rather have extra fabric then a sun burn on my shoulders. Even on our 3 week trip last Fall, I only took one tank top :)

This is my first experience with UR so bear with me... I'm looking for WDW for a weekend in September and they don't show any WDW hotels. I know there is availability on Disney's site, so it's not an availability issue. Is UR like other sites (orbitz, etc) where they only have what Disney makes available to them? Also, if I end up booking a room only through Disney, would it possible to have it switched over to UR? I have read people switching packages, not sure if room only is an option.

Thanks! I've been reading the DOC comments and it does seem like it shouldn't count against 5/24, but seems harder to be approved for biz card, especially with recent inquiries. So now thinking I should try for Barclay card first, then Citi. However, Citi to has a higher bonus. Decisions, decisions...

Barclays is indeed the more sensitive issuer, so I would do them first. Citi's bonus is higher, but you have to spend $4k. It's hard to beat 50k miles for just one purchase (even if it's only $1) + AF. Barclays might ask you for business documents during recon if it's not auto-approved. You can always decide not to bother if it gets to that points. Plus, the higher biz offer is ending at the end of this month. I'd try for the AAviator Biz first, then go for the Citi Biz AA.

Hi everyone, I hope you don't mind me joining your thread to ask a few questions. I'll try to keep it not too long. I am trying to earn more free flights. I had DH open the southwest plus card March or 2017 for points, and then heard about the companion pass in June. So we decided why not go for it, and he opened the premier card. We have really got good use out of it. We planned to do it again with me opening the cards at the end of this year, but now realize we can't do that. I had a business, but closed it last December so can't do the business card. My son is going to college this fall in California, and it is a 36 hour drive from Michigan! I'd like airline miles for flying him home for breaks, and also possible visits to California for us. I used up most of the southwest points that we still had reserving flights for us to take him to school this fall and for DS to come home and return to college during Christmas break.

So I'm considering getting a southwest visa for me or the Chase sapphire preferred for either me or DH. We both have high credit scores in the 800s, and I don't want to change that if possible. He has 8 credit cards (5 with Chase.) I have 3 (1 with chase), but I am an authorized user on all his accounts. All mine are opened over 2 years ago. He only opened the 2 southwest cards in March and June of 2017. Everything else is over 2 years old. We aren't looking for an everyday card because we already alternate between the Chase freedom, Discover, Costco visa, and citi double depending on categories. DH does not like keeping track of categories so he mostly uses the Costco and citi double.

So my questions are:

Should we close one of the southwest cards? We don't really use them, and I don't like paying the annual fee on 2 cards we don't use.
Can DH refer me to the southwest visa if I'm already an authorized user on his so he can get the referral points?
Should we do the Chase sapphire preferred and just forget about Southwest, and which of us should get it? Will he be turned down because he already has 5 cards from Chase? They didn't instant approve him for the Southwest premier so that kind of freaked me out.

I spent days trying to read this thread, but is is long, and sometimes I can't figure out the abbreviations. But you all seem to be getting such great deals, so I thought maybe you could offer me suggestions.

Newbee Question...when you cancel a refundable hotel made with UR through the Chase site how long does it take to see the points back in your account

Chase has a rule called 5/24 which means 5 cards from any issuer in 24 months. They will deny you if you are over. So first, we probably need to know what Cards you and DH have and what month/year you opened them

As for business cards, maybe you have another “business” like selling stuff on eBay or Facebook, selling cookies, cleaning houses, mowing lawns. Lots of people here have biz cards for “businesses “ and it doesn’t mean you need an EIN.

My ebay auction ended last night and my item sold. The buyer just paid, but also sent a message asking why the shipping is so high, and left feedback already that my shipping is too much :badpc::badpc::badpc:

That’s just crazy...why bid they knew the shipping ahead of time and if they felt it was high just move along......make sure you block that bidder so they can’t win any of your other auctions...

I’ve found that sometimes eBay does calculate the shipping incorrectly....if you’ve printed a shipping label...And the shipping was accurate...screen shot it and show them the cost.
If eBay calculated high...I’d message back explaining and refund their PayPal the difference...then ask them to retract the feedback
