Disney's POP CENTURY RESORT Information & Questions

Since there is a lot of discussion right now about room location, just a reminder that if you receive you room notification and it’s not in an area you’d prefer, you may go to the desk and request to be moved. They will do their best to honour that request either that day or the following day. You will often need to wait longer for your room to be ready but it’s an option if you want to ask.

If you get it by text, you can also call the number given in the text to ask to change rooms. We've done that successfully twice (Pop and CSR). Very convenient if you weren't planning to be at the resort anytime soon.

I had almost the same query last week or a couple of weeks ago when I put in my request! As wasn't sure if the 60s still had standard rooms with the Skyliner. I'm sure it's only going to be a matter of time until this changes though, the Skyliner has really revolutionised my experience at Pop now that it only takes 10 minutes to get to DHS and 20 minutes to get to Epcot!

(For DHS - that 10 minutes on the Skyliner is even faster than the walk from the Boardwalk/Epcot area resorts to DHS!)
That's great:) I think you're right, that WDW will most likely change those rooms to a new category.

I hope you have better luck than I did. We arrived at Pop on Saturday and I did online check in. None of the requests were fulfilled. It wasn’t a huge deal, but not even one. 😂

Haha, same! We requested 60's lake view through online check-in when we were there a few weeks ago, but ended up in 90's facing a parking lot. It was a looong walk to the Skyliner but not too bad to get to the buses/Classic Hall if you cut through the parking lot. I had to laugh though at how far away we ended up from our "requested" location 😄

I didn't even think about requesting another room when we got the room ready text but will probably try that if it happens again. Thanks for the good advice!

@sky13 I am actually planning for a future trip so if you remember what they did yesterday that's still helpful. Particularly interested in character meets, trick or treating.

This was the sign they had in the Pop lobby for Halloween yesterday. Afraid I don't know any more detail than this!

Do the gondolas start a little early for EMH?

When they first opened, it looked like they would open a few hours before HS opened (well, except for EEMH, they opened at the same time that started, 6AM). SInce the incident, they have been opening at 8AM. Kind of disappointed I won't be able to use the Skyliner to Rope Drop HS on a EMH (8AM opening). I wonder why they are still opening later than they were initially.

That's too bad. Hopefully it's temporary. Maybe it just means they don't have staff to run them at 5am for 6am E-E-E-E-E-EMH.

so you were able to call the number they texted you from and you were able to talk to a CM ? this would be very helpful

Not the number they texted from, but a number given in the text ("For further assistance call: #). Sometimes they had to check into things and call me back, but both times they have been able to get us a room location more to our liking over the phone. These were both split stays when we planned on going directly to the park for the day from resort #1 and didn't want to have to schlep over to resort #2 to sort out the room.

Got off the Fantasy on Sunday. Booked Pop thru DCL a preferred accessible room. No text at 11:00am. Went to the front desk line, very long, and asked for any room that was ready. The gave us 3rd floor, bldg 10. We went to Epcot via the skyliner using our special “12 noon” tickets. Nice ride. We took the bus back to Pop since it was raining. Sunday we rode the skyliner again to the Intl Gateway then a bus to MK from Beach Club. Did the reverse route from MK. We got to the Caribbean Skyliner station a little after 10PM. Nice ride back to Pop. They keep running until everyone has cleared he transfer stations. Went home the following morning.

Is there anyone who has stayed at Pop in the past couple of weeks who can confirm what time the Skylier opens? Or, what the earliest time you were able to ride during your stay?

Are there still buses to Epcot and HS at times when the Skyliner is operating? Are they less frequent? We’re staying at Pop in December and plan to go to HS, but DD is scared of the skyliner.

We took the skyliner to the intl gateway last Sunday at 11:00am and the bus back at 9:00 pm since it was raining. Not much wait for a bus at 9pm, they keep them running. DH is afraid of heights but he was good riding the skyliner.
