DDC XXXIV: The Original Home Of The DISDads!!!

Filed the taxes today. Owe around $800 to Feds and $200 refund from State. That's not terrible, but hate having to pay more despite all that is being withheld.

Being able to sing? No it doesn't. However, because of other issues I have with my hearing, it makes it difficult for me to not hear individual notes in chords....which I find irritating.

That's what I meant. I'm not really any good, and just hope to find the melody. When oldest dd and I sing together at church, I usually do OK until I hear someone way off key or who comes in too early. Sorry that impacts something you enjoy. That is irritating.

Hey, everybody. I enjoyed seeing Andy Reid finally win a Super Bowl. And Bill Murray/Groundhog Day gets my vote for best commercial. And the BBQ turned out great. All in all, a successful Sunday.

I really didn't care either way. But, as Reid was in Philly so long, I get it. Probably the only coach I thought that about was Dungy, when Tampa Bay fired him and Gruden won a Superbowl with his team. I was glad to see Dungy win one in Indy.

My son is coming in for a long weekend on Thursday night, so I'm working 12 hours today and Wednesday to get enough hours to cover taking Friday off.
Getting up at oh dark hundred and doing 12 hours wasn't really conducive to staying up late last night.

Don't work too hard, and enjoy the time with your son.

Shakira won. Sorry. Spoiler alert.

Actually, we all won watching Shakira.

Hey Gents! Interesting morning for me, which actually started last night. I was heading upstairs to bed when I collapsed due to an excruciating pain in my left knee. Man did it hurt. Called my chiropractor and got in right away this morning. He did some push and pull tests and determined that everything is where its supposed to be, but that I must have pulled a hamstring, lower portion. Still hurts but I'm taking it easy today. Otherwise everything is going pretty well.

We haven't done taxes yet, but we did file our financial aid packet for my daughter's school (she goes to a private school), and man that was a pain in the butt.
Wife: "Hey, hun?"
Me: "Yeah!"
Wife: "How much money do you spend out of pocket?"
Me: "As in cash?"
Wife: "Yeah."
Me: "They really wanna know that?"
Wife: "Yep."
Me: "Do they wanna know how many times I fart, too?"
Wife: "Really?!"

Oh that's what you meant. Sorry, confusion on my part...I was thinking of something different. So yes it does, to a point, but not that much. I find it hard to hear someone talking when there's other noise around, and that translate to music as well.

We had a similar experience filling out the Federal Aid form for college applications for my daughter. They're more invasive than a proctologist. Basically, it involves telling them exactly how much you have invested in every account you own. Then they come back and tell you that you don't need any aid, since you have so much money you're wasting on things like a mortgage and utility bills.

Evening, from a cold but bright London. Working from home mark 2. I have my appraisal tomorrow. I had my pre-appraisal discussion last week, so it should be fine. He asked me for some stuff I'd to get involved with. "As little as possible" probably is not the answer he's gonna be looking for, so I've got to spend the next hour coming up with a load of BS. Come to think of it, that's pretty much how I built my career.

Forgot to comment on this...
@londontime no wardrobe malfunctions, but some pretty good eye candy.
That it was, my friend. That it was.
Shakira won. Sorry. Spoiler alert.
Me and my missus were having a similar argument last night. She said J-Lo. I said Shakira. I decided to not press my case, as my arguments probably weren't gonna land too well.
My goal is to get to as many museum ships as I can get to in my lifetime.
I've done the one in San Diego and the HMS Belfast on the Thames by Tower Bridge, which is pretty cool. You can crawl over Drake's (not the rapper) ship, the Golden Hinde in Docklands. But I'm sure Drake the rapper has a boat. And I bet its pretty cool. Hope your leg gets better mate. Any news on the job front?
My son is coming in for a long weekend on Thursday night,
Well that should be fun. Enjoy mate.

Afternoon all.

Beautiful day here, +2 (that's about 34 for you heathens). Not going to last though, we have a snow storm forecast for Thursday/Friday. Come on cruise!

I'm sure if you had something would have landed well.

I can't do it anymore. When I was younger, I could do 24, 36, even 48 hour shifts (sometimes had to in the military), but oldmanitis has set in I guess. Can't do it anymore
You can do it... but... no way you'd want to.
Sounds like you need pkondz to give you some tips.
Tip #1... Just don't.

Well, that sucks.

Geez, dude! Take it easy! Really doesn't sound great.

Yes... Just like Elsa... Let it go.

And then debate with her if you'd prefer Elsa to Anna.
(Anna, by the way.)

Afternoon all. Stopped by the office for a conference call. Looks to be boring, so I'll put it on mute and type the rest of this message. Youngest dd dx has fifth disease (erythema infectiosum) which is supposed to be in young children. So, I've been to the bank, store for more OTC meds, and Culver's.

Haven't heard of pain in the knee from hamstring, but that can take a long time to heal. I haven't hurt that one yet, other than mild strains.

I advised my girls not to file FAFSA and not borrow money. I told them to apply for scholarships along with their grades and sports. Or, find an employer to pay or the military. I never had loans. I paid off my wife's student loans. Loans are bad.

Daily booze and hookers would be a good idea for your appraisal.

And, I'm going with Shakira and Elsa. One is loca and has hips that don't lie. The other has the power to grow her own clothes. Imagine what else she can do.

Thanks for the temperature translation.

Friends of mine, husband and wife, visited London and saw, but didn't board, the Belfast, so that would be cool. As for the job front? Still the same. Although, I'm currently working until the end of the month. I found out today that they're going to keep me until the 28th...so I'm working for another few weeks.

Geez, dude! Take it easy! Really doesn't sound great.

I know, right?! And all I did was walk upstairs. Sucks getting old.

I said knee pain, which was just easy to say. I do have pain in the knee, but unrelated to what happened last night. According to my chiropractor, everything was where it's supposed to be; however, there may be other issues that he can't see without pictures being taken.

I must have been traumatized by my FIFSA form because I don't remember filling the thing out. Thankfully we got a sizable scholarship for my daughter for the current year...hopefully the same next year.

Been there done that, wrote the book, cussed a lot about it and then repeated my rants for the past 7 years. Only 1 more year to go

Need to fill out FAFSA even if no financial aide is taken as it is required for any University or State related scholarships. If not in the FAFSA system students are not eligible for the majority of scholarships. Never qualified for any financial aide but have to update FAFSA every year for each child to keep their scholarship funds coming in.

Sucks getting old.

Childhood problems - wrecked bike, dropped bookcase on toe, fell out of tree, almost drowned
Adult problems - sat too long, sneezed too hard, lifted box wrong

Yes it does, but it beats NOT getting older.

Sorry to hear about your youngest Norm. Hope she heals up quick. Lots of illness here in the mountains. We have had multiple schools closed every week for multiple days because of it. We may have a rematch against the county school on Thursday but they are officially closed the remainder of the week for illness.

Top O the Mornin Dads! Flood watch as we are slowly turning into Seattle. I sure would have preferred being at Dawa rope drop about an hour ago.

Me too! I actually was just daydreaming of an adults only trip with DW sometime in May. AP's expire in June....trying to find any excuse to go one more time - even with my April trip planned!

That Bacon....... 🤤🤤
