It was a tone of cautious optimism, IMO.
Not nearly as bad as the Q3 report will be. This went better than I thought.
The link will be on the below page shortly:Will there be a place to listen to it again?
That could be what is taking so long for them to announce any dates. They might still be trying to figure out that math.It means they won't open a park if it contributes to losses. The cost to operate the park/resort has to be less than the revenue that it generates. Meaning if 25% capacity doesn't do it - then they won't open.
Your first question could be huge. I'm wondering that alsoSo my takes from that....
1) can wdw get to "positive contribution" level without international guests??
2) no mention of DLP at all? Considering they have lost money almost every year they have been open, reaching "positive contribution" there could take a while.
Or next year when they find they have a limited number of movies to release because filming is on hold this year.
I didn’t hear anything remotely good.
Basically, they’re now Netflix with substantially more overhead.
That kind of confirms they won’t open to just locals
from shaghai disney site - https://shcorporate.shanghaidisneyresort.com/en/category/press-room-enThought someone posted the press release that mentioned no fireworks or parades at the start
Disney+ is exceeding expectation which for a time like this is good. Their overall revenues exceeded projections as well. Shanghai reopening is positive news for that segment. Film they have movies that have been filmed and are delayed so they can still put those out next year. This year was never going to be as huge as 2019 with Endgame and films like that.Or next year when they find they have a limited number of movies to release because filming is on hold this year.

When do we think international guest might be able to enter the United States again, Virgin that partners Disneys own vacations here in the uk downed six planes that they use for Orlando.Your first question could be huge. I'm wondering that also
And why they are still allowing booking - how else will they get numbers to do the math with? That could be what is taking so long for them to announce any dates. They might still be trying to figure out that math.

How so? Are you referring to the "positive contribution" quote? That could be taken so many ways. I don't see how it's not positive to get people back to work and to get them familiar with new procedures, while also allowing those most likely to go anyway the chance. It's not positive to everyone, but still positive. And it could be a benefit to everyone and allow to open to everyone sooner than it would have otherwise.
What’s interesting is there was no real leak about Shanghai opening as soon as Monday. So we may not get much notice for the other parks either. It might be like 2-3 weeks max. I expect DS to open next 1-2 weeks based on the rumors of activity etc,

And a lot of international have been sent home & no college program so that’s done already. Plus the task force recommendation that those 65 of older stay home too.I imagine it will go by seniority when calling CMs back.
