When trying to control crowds I don't think you open on a holiday weekend. In fact I don't think you open on a weekend at all. I think you open on a monday. If I had to guess a date I'd go with Mon, July 6th.
I hope you’re right lol, our trip trip starts July 8 😖. Hopefully they give us specifics with advanced warning so I can cancel if I don’t like what I’m hearing.

Did people (outside of that one FB post) receive cancellations for trips that started outside of the first week in June? I ask because I have a June 13-19 reservation but it is renting DVC points so I don't know when I would know it is cancelled.

I got emails that horseback riding, starlight safari, Droid Depot & Savi's workshop were cancelled, but they're still in my plans.

Just a waiting game now for the refunds to show up...

DVC is being cancelled 5-7 days before check-in.

My son and his friends had a June 1 - 8 trip booked at Copper Creek using our DVC points. While he hasn't received any communication from DVC about a cancellation (as noted above they are cancelling 5-7 days prior to check in), all of their ADR's and fast passes disappeared through June 6 on MDE. This was a replacement trip for a previously cancelled one, May 11-18. It's supposed to be their grand college graduation victory lap trip.

I just finished rebooking them July 18 - 25. Here's hoping third time's the charm!! 🤞

I get the sentiment but I don't think they can. If they named a date people after that date would think they are fine and then if they can't hit it then that may upset people even more. Look how quickly everybody latched onto an unannounced June 1 date (and I do agree having the recovery offer for june was a bad idea) and now upset when it wasn't met.
I just think they can say “...we are working hard to open for (date). This date is subject to change...blah blah...fluid...unprecedented...blah blah...government/public health guidelines...blah blah...”
It wouldn’t help everyone, but it would help the ppl who are booked in June if they have no intention of trying to open.

Well I thought I finally got the email for my 6/4-11 trip...opened it and it was to tell me reservation at BOG was impacted :sad2:

But what happens if it gets to be that date and they need to push it back further again? That's the exact same situation as their dining offer.

Did anyone talk to a CM about them keeping the FD offer if you rebook?

Got ours, too. Bummed out. Was hoping WDW would be a sign things were headed toward normal in the world.

Then they have to do it. They already said fluid, unprecedented, etc in the announcement.

I think that’s what it is for me too. It’s less about Disney world & more about the abnormal world now. Things seemed closer & with these new cancellations, it puts all this into yet another month.

My ADRs, FPs were cancelled this evening. 6/5 through 6/7. We have resort checkin in and other reservations for 6/8 -6/13 that still remain.

My ADRs and FPs were cancelled this evening also, May 31-June 8.

I have AKL Kidani via DVC points, That reservation is still there, but anticipate that they will just send an auto cancelation 7 days out as their IVR says. We will go ahead and reschedule for next year and i will move on t Plan B for this year... boo :-(

First of all, they obviously had the intention of opening in June and they very well still could open in June. What happens if they make a statement like that and end up opening sooner?

Things were looking up yesterday for June. I just really think the shear size and amount of resorts involved is causing the delay. Too many moving parts to get it all opened, or the logistical nightmare of moving people to different resorts to meet capacity limits, was too much for an early June opening. Sorry to all those DISers who were affected. I'm not out of the woods yet with my July trip.

giving dates they don’t know 100% they can meet would still be a problem. They never promised June 1 and people still assumed it was going to happen. Indefinitely is the right move. They already missed one date and they didn’t want to keep missing dates.

I think that is the thing that bothers me the most. Instead of saying "we will not be open in June", so all the June people can plan their life, they prefer to eek out whatever they can get from us and keep reservations they know they wont be able to honor. If they were ready in June, and told everyone they weren't going to be open until July 1, they could do a soft opening with locals. You know people would come. But, instead, they are waiting as long as possible to keep us all hanging on so they can get our money if they can. Not a good look IMO.
