Anyone going to Disney next December?

We are booked in a Treehouse Villa for December 6-15. :woohoo: I am so excited. Katrina & Becky will be coming with their boyfriends for the 9th-15th. If their boyfriends can't make it, they will invite a female friend. We have also invited my mom and aunt for the 6th-11th. My aunt has never been interested in Disney so she has turned us down but I told her I am going to keep trying to change her mind. She is my favorite aunt and both Chuck & I have wanted to share Disney with her and mom without kids.

We are not going in March so this will help me make it through that. Now on to the planning, planning, planning!!!:cool1::cloud9::woohoo::dance3::cheer2:

Boo! Well, YAY for you, but boo for us. We'll just miss you. The girls and I will leave on the 4th. However, I think Jennifer might be there until the 6th or 7th so you might have a chance of crossing paths quickly.

:banana:Yay for booking!

I would so like to take Terra on the new Wild Africa Trek tour. It looks amazing. Maybe someday we'll travel with someone who could keep Deva for a little while since the age is 8 and up. Oh yeah, and we'd have to be able to afford the almost $400 for the two of us. :scared:

Way cool! So why does this and other places say it is like $129 but it is really about $200????

Did you listen to the 1/9 podcast? At about 7minutes they talked about a 3 day experience with Jane Goodall. Unfortunately you had to book by yesterday. OH...and it was $8,500/adult and $7,500 for child. That included stay at AKL, park tickets, all sorts of dining with Jane and of course that new trek.

Hey guys. You might want to set up a new page this weekend. Once you do I will close this one, and sticky the new one. Thanks, Penny:goodvibes

Well, there's a special "introductory rate". The pricing so far is $129.00 (non-taxable) January 16, 2011 - February 26, 2011 and $189.00 (non-taxable) February 27, 2011 - April 30, 2011. April 30 is the latest you can book for right now so hopefully the $189 is as high as it will go, but who knows if their reserving dates to reserve the right to jump the price more at least for the summer. I think if I were going right away, I might try to scrounge up the money for the $130 each only because it won't ever get any cheaper and it would be so perfect for Terra, but even then that's a lot of money. I'm actually hoping that Phil's parents will consider getting her a "zookeeper for a day" package at our zoo for her birthday. It's about $100 but it's only 2 kids and the keeper for like 4-5 hours. Sounds pretty cool.

Hi, Penny! Do you want us to close this one before it reaches 250 pages?

I forgot to reply to this! When we did the Sunrise Safari last month our guide was telling us about this Tour. The construction is all over the place and it does look pretty amazing. My biggest complaint about this and also the Wanyama Safari is that the prices are really getting out of line, in my opinion.

Good Morning,

Thanks for all your support. I did get a few answers, I have a tumor on my right hip, it is a benign limpoma, which is a good thing, but it may be pressing on some nerves and causing some of the pain I'm experiencing, but I also have osteoarthritis so that may be the cause of the pain. I've been through the tests for RA since I have problems with multiple joints but those test have come back negative.

Unfortunatley there is no treatment for osteoarthritis, basically they treat the pain until it gets to the point where joint replacement is required. I questioned my neurologist about the neuralgia, it seems strange that the increase in joint pain and neuralgia are occurring at the same time and are not related, he assures me that they are not. He's increased and adjusted my meds for the neuralgia and he thinks they may help with the joint pains also.

Tia, Jennifer and Bernadette - I hope you're all feeling better soon.

Thanks for explaining. I agree with Elin-$189 is very expensive.

:hug:Will they remove the tumor?

:wizard:Hope the new meds will provide some relief.

My doctor showed me extra bone growth up by my ankle on my foot xray-he said that was osteoarthritis as are my bunions.

My right foot is still not Disney ready. He suggested a CT scan to see if that showed something the xray didn't. I think I will call his office tomorrow and tell them I don't want to do that just yet. He really thinks my foot just needs more time to heal. Why spend the time and money for the CT scan if it isn't going to show anything new? I really don't have the time to do it during work hours anyways.

I have to tell you guys what a great son I have. I tried wii fit for the first time yesterday and Joe told how mean it was to TOTALLY disort my mii into a fat little mii. Isn't he the best? Then he kept me not to over do it and hurt my foot. He is so sweet!

Debbie how are they planning to treat the tumor?

Debbie - Although you are experiencing some pain it is good to have answers that are not scary, right? I hope the meds can help control that pain, though.

Wow, Debbie! My heart just plummeted when I read the word tumor! Then I read benign, and I began to breathe again! I'm sorry that you are still experiencing pain, but glad that it's not worse!

Vicki - Hooray for planning a trip!!! We are heading to DL the first week in August, and I'm starting to gear up for it! Should be fun!!! I've got some shirts designed for the whole group to wear one day (27 people), and my sister and I are going to try our hands at the tie dye Mickey shirts for the grandkid picture day! Wish us luck!!! We're going to wait for spring break to do the tie dyeing. That way, the older kids can help, and we can do it outside!

I do have some sad news to relate, along with a request for any spare pixie dust and prayers. Alan's youngest brother, Mike, has had a really rough life! He is adopted, and his bio mom was on heroin when she was pregnant with him. He was born addicted, and it seems like his life just spiraled downward from there. In the last 10 years, he's really tried to turn things around. He gave up drugs and alcohol, stopped smoking, and married a wonderful woman who supported him through all the rehab. At that time, he was diagnosed with MS, but he hasn't let it get the better of him. He's pretty upbeat about things, and has been really enjoying being a husband and a step dad!

His wife, Carrie, has been having stomach pains, and a lot of other problems in the last few months. She lost about 70 pounds in a couple of months and didn't know why. When she had some tests run, her PCP suspected cancer. She went to a specialist 3 weeks ago, and it was found that she has stomach cancer. At that time, they didn't know if it was Stage 3 or 4. She underwent surgery last Monday, and they found that the cancer is stage 4. Basically, they stitched her up, told her that chemo would probably prolong her life by about 6 months or so, and they sent her home. She's decided to do the chemo, and hope for a miracle. Mike is just devastated by this whole thing! Could I ask for any prayers for Mike and Carrie? They are going to need it as they go through this. Thanks!

Of course you have our prayers. That is to sad. How old are her kids?:wizard:

Glynis we will be going to DL in 2012. It will be either on the way to Hawaii or on the way back. It could be last week of July or end of second week of August depending on how the Hawaii reservations work out. I think our cruise is August 4-11. We would love to meet you guys there if it works out for your family. That goes for anyone else too :goodvibes We've never done DL and will have so many questions. Nick has a friend that lives in LA and he is definitely looking forward to her joining us for a day or two :goodvibes

What a fun trip!!! I'll be happy to help answer DL questions! I would love to be able to meet up with you guys! We'll just have to see what happens between now and then.

:hug:Lots of prayers for Mike & Carrie.

I have a coworker whose son is going through this exact thing. They operated on him last week. They were able to remove some fluid that was pressing on his spine and causing lots of pain and they put in a feeding tube so he can gain some weight before they start chemo. He's in his 30's and unmarried but just so sad.
