Fantasy 7-Night Eastern Caribbean (San Juan) Cruise 3/9/13 - 3/16/13

Had a great cruise! It was so nice getting to meet my DISfriends from this board.
Asked DS that now that he has been on 2 different ships, which does he seem to like better. He said the "Magic." Hmm.
We booked a dummy cruise on board.
For some reason we were given a dinner table to ourselves this cruise. Don't know why as I had been looking forward to meeting new people. Oh well, it worked just fine.
Now home and back to regular life.

My DH said he preferred Magic too. I guess cause it was our first ever. <3

A special thank you to Silverfox & Ssanders for organizing the FE..getting the board started...arranging for the meet & ensuring all are kept breast with all the pertinent information. Special thank you to everyone who participated in the FE! All the gifts we received were well thought out & had lots of Time & effort placed in creating them! Each was greatly appreciated. Trying to board a plane scheduled to leave originally at 1:55pm & now aiming of 5:15pm had to board & unboard....a little frustrating! Hope our paths cross again! Safe travels home for all!!

Hi everyone! Who is still swaying with the waves???

Had a great time and was so thrilled to meet so many nice people! Thanks so much to all the FE participants! Everyone is so creative!

We are at the Beach Club Villas now, all set for a week at WDW!

We had one "glitch" this morning in the rush to get off the ship. We received the wrong photobook from Shutters, and DH did not check it before we left the ship. So, I'm HOPING that the family whose book we did receive is a DISer, so we can maybe do a switch somehow.... I called DCL, and they gave me the phone number for "mycruisephotos" but they are only open Mon to Fri. I tried to submit a ticket request but it doesn't seem to be working...sigh....

Wow! What a fantastic cruise! We had a wonderful time! It was great meeting some of you at the meet & greet, ladies night, and around the ship. My hubby left his watch on his bedside table, we called from Budget, as soon as he remembered. They will have it at MCO waiting for us tomorrow. At AKL today, still feel the boat rocking!

Just landed in DFW. Thanks AA for our first class upgrade. Headed to Arlington in our car service. Laundry can wait until after church tomorrow. I was bad and had a meatfest on Friday. Oops! Catholic guilt ensues!

Thank you all for the fantastic FE gifts. It was great meeting you all. I was disappointed that I missed GNO. I went to Oh la La for a while but I must have had the wrong day or time. While there, there was only a couple in there so I didn't think it was our group. That just meant I got to spend some quiet time with my DH for a change!

I too preferred the Magic, but had a great time on the beautiful Fantasy!

Hope our paths cross again and for those still traveling, travel safely!

We're home in Austin. This was our first FE exchange. My son loved coming back to the cabin to see if there was anything new. Thanks to everyone for all the wonderful gifts. I booked a dummy date for Dec 2014 but hopefully we won't have to wait that long.

I agree! Fantastic Cruise!! Thank you to all who were so generous and had extra FE gifts for us even though we were last minute add ons! You guys had some really neat ideas that I may be tucking away for another cruise in the future!! My daughter also enjoyed coming back to check our FE. Sorry I didn't make it to GNO. I think that was the day my DD just had a rough day and it wore me out. She is normally a great napper, she was just too excited to sleep!

We are at the Grand Floridian until tomorrow. We weren't going to go to any parks (just relax). We ended up at MK anyway today! We are back at our room and DD is taking a nap! Woohoo! Looking forward to our last afternoon on vacation at MK and then homeward bound tomorrow.

We just got home a couple hours ago. Unfortunately, 3 of us got sick and made for a miserable 12 hours to end the cruise. But if anything, it made me extremely grateful to get off the ship instead of the dreadful walk off. Yesterday morning if anyone asked me if I was ready to cruise again soon it would have been H*LL no but I think i'll be ready for our couples only cruise in 7 weeks. We are feeling mostly better and can finally eat in small portions.

We didn't participate in the main FE but had our FE out to leave stuff for the kids and for our mini exchange with the other 2 families we sailed with. We did receive a few other gifts and I'd like to say THANK YOU to those of you that left gifts for us!

We booked 2 cruises, one a dummy and one Southern OCt 11, 2014. Don't know if we can keep it but we hope so

We loved the Fantasy but DH and I prefer the smaller ships. DD said she can't decide and DS says the Fantasy is the best!

Thanks again to all the FE participants for all the awesome gifts! I'm drowning my sorrows in FE chocolates this evening lol!

My youngest son who is naturally skinny weighed himself tonight and he's gained 5 lbs! Now he's also in a height spurt so who knows, but if a skinny 10 yr old could gain that much I'm avoiding the scale a few more days! I can only take so much post vacation stress at one time!

We made it back safely last night and had an absolutely AMAZING time!! I even got a little choked up leaving the ship. I want to say THANK YOU to everyone that participated in the FE gift exchange. Our kids LOVED it!!! It was one of the best parts of the trip for our kids. And a special thank you to Scott for putting together the FE group and for the map. The map was invaluable!!!

Back to reality. It feels like I have done at least 10 loads of laundry today. I hate laundry.

I am in the process of trying to upload and organize photos. I personally have pictures and videos on 3 separate cameras not including my mom's pictures. One camera has 1200 pictures. It is going to be a daunting task to sort them and put together our photo book.

We had a great time only marred slightly by the migraine from Hell that I got in St. Thomas. Fortunately it only left me out of commission for about 4 hours. I've had the migraine that has left me out for 24 hours before.

Sorry I missed both the meet and the GNO. I lost track of time while unpacking on arrival day and it was time for the safety drill before I knew it.

As for the GNO - the 2 year old decided she pretty much couldn't be without mommy all week. Maybe next summer in Alaska I'll get some adult time. Alice my 2 year old, did finally decide she loved the characters this time around. If there was a character line, she wanted to be in it. I think she has a crush on Peter Pan.

I'm going to try to do a trip report once I get all the pictures sorted. In short, we had a great time. I am not looking forward to going back to work tomorrow. I loved the Fantasy. I can't decide which I liked more the Magic or the Fantasy. I liked both for different reasons. Our dining team was not as great as our last two teams. There is nothing I can really pinpoint about it, we just didn't connect with them like we did on the last 2 cruises.

The girls loved the FE gifts. Thank you to all.

Oh - I almost made a huge mistake when leaving. I pointed out the wrong suitcase to the porter. Fortunately I noticed it before we loaded it on the Budget van. I had to go back through security with the wrong suitcase and wait while they located my suitcase and then be escorted back into the holding area to claim it and show my passport to leave again. I'm just glad we figured it out long before we made it home. It did cost us just enough time that we weren't able to do both Soarin' and Test Track before heading to the airport but that is okay. We did get Soarin' in. I guess I'll have to plan another trip to WDW to get to try out the new Test Track. I think I'll wait until the Snow White MIne Coaster is open though.

Next up Alaska June 2014.

I had planned on going to gno but ended up with a migraine as well , so missed it. I actually woke up with headaches pretty much each morning but most of the time they didnt last once I took an advil. Im thinking it either had to do with maybe the pillows , I sleep with only a certain type of pillow at home, have some problems with my neck if I dont use one like I have, or wondered if it had to do with the engine noise, it really wasnt bothersome but it was more noticed on this trip, maybe because we were aft and the last 2 trips we were forward and midship. The fantasy is a beautiful ship but in some areas it seems to have confusing layouts, our servers were ok but not the same as we had on the magic, we didnt really connect with them or the room host like we had with the past ones. The crew on the ship are amazing and each and everyone of them really are a big part of the reason we will cruise with disney in the future .I will make sure I bring my own pillow though and book a cabin that isnt aft just in case that had any bearing on my headaches. We had an extended cabin but would have prefered the extra room inside , had a 4e gty so didnt have the option to pick out our cabin location, will not book again with that cat. I prefer to do the picking! All in all it was a good trip and am looking forward to sailing again with hopefully a one bedroom cat, better start saving my pennys!

Well, we are back home in Albuquerque, and I'm actually at work right now (I don't want to let go of the vacation feelings, so what better way than hanging out on the DIS boards?!). Spent the day at the airport on Saturday before our 3:30 flight out. Had time to do the suitcase shuffle to make sure all the weights were correct. Thank you all for the wonderful FE gifts. I have to say, I think this trip all of the gifts were terrific. Hannah was very sad to be leaving, but with her next sentence she would be asking how soon before we would be home. Now she keeps asking what time is it in Florida and what would we be doing on the ship.

We have now completed the slam - all four ships. For me, I can't see if I like the Magic or the Fantasy better. Both have their merits. For Hannah, it's definitely the Fantasy. We have a dummy cruise booked for October 2014 that we will move to 2015 when the dates get released.

Now it's time to start planning WDW for 2014.

Thank you everyone for a great trip. The meet and greet was awesome. So was GNO. Loved the drinks in Oo La La and the company.

I'm back to reality and work now too. We stayed an extra day at Disney and didn't get home until midnight last night, so I'm still very much in the surreal vacation-but-not mode.

We had a wonderful cruise! The Fantasy was just as beautiful as I had hoped. We saw flying fish and dolphins from our balcony. We went snorkeling in St. Thomas and ziplining in San Juan. We had a blast!! We did not have the best dining experience however, as we got a table to ourselves (I did not ask for this), and our servers were rather slow and just not as friendly as on the other ships. We did have a great brunch at Palos with papertraveller and hubby, and Remy's chef's table with the 8 of us was incredible! Thank you to all who participated in the FE. We got some lovely mommentos of our trip and I'm excited to put some of them away to pull out when I need a little fix.

We booked a dummy date for Dec 2014, but will move it to 2015, likely. I'm sad to not cruise with Disney next year, but am looking for the same week of March and would like a different itenerary.

Thank you to all who helped to make the cruise so special! My coworkers think I'm nuts to meet people this way, but you all made it such a wonderful experience! I can't imagine not having the DIS boards!

Another Big Thank You to the organizer of our thread and the FE exchange- it was great! I was blown away by the creativity of the gifts, we all loved finding surprises each day. While DD and I were delivering gifts Thursday night we bumped into Captain Marco and he was so nice to stop for a few minutes and chat with us, just wished I had a camera

Chef's Table- big Thank You to Lisa for organizing the dinner and the other six participants- it was a great night of food and fun

GNO- I was so excited to attend, but my youngest was sick with the stomach virus Sunday night and "nicely" shared her germs with me and I was sick from Monday afternoon to early Tuesday am- it was a nasty bug, but it hit fast and left within 24 hours.
