After seeing people get park tickets, Universal tickets, and Halloween/Christmas party tickets with URs... I might see if I can use URs for water park tickets (Disney and Volcano Bay). If we go...
I tried to get the gate price vs the actual price paid on two different days and the evening on the second day I went to DS to the town common, or whatever its called now, and spoke to guest relations about it. They said they now track how much you paid for ticket regardless of what the actual price of admission was because they know you purchased a discounted ticket and also who you bought it from. That was just my experience and I let it be. It wasn't going to throw a wrench in my vacation. Besides...Disney already took enough of our money...whats some more!
I even tried MK for the first entrance as that is the highest priced park.
Yep.I'll end the 48 minute lack of posts!!
Southwest Business card - does selling items on Nextdoor constitute owning a small business? It's providing household revenue...
Oh my! I've not heard that. I honestly think it's great...as a homeschooler, I think less time in the classroom and more time to learn outside the classroom is great...However, I can't imagine the headache this will cause working parents!
"After 8/18, certificates cannot be upgraded or downgraded, regardless of when they were purchased" definitely get those upgrades in if you're thinking you might want one folks!More answers re Travel Package Certificates from SPG Lurker via FlyerTalk: https://www.flyertalk.com/forum/30086147-post25.html
This interests me because I am considering price bridging to AP's when I go to WDW in December. I just found this on the ticket board. I'm guessing you had a pre price increase ticket.
""Price bridging" for Upgrading Tickets has changed in many cases.
Tickets purchased from stock issued before the most recent
price increase of Feb. 11, 2018 (this may or may not necessarily be related to the date that you purchased your tickets) will be bridged only to the price that Disney sold these tickets to the public at that original time.
That means:
There are currently three different ticket upgrade scenarios:
NOTE: The date on which you BOUGHT a ticket from an authorized ticket reseller is not necessarily the date on which the ticket was "minted" (created) by Disney.
(The resellers sell from "old stock" tickets until they need to order "new stock" tickets.)
So, it is quite possible that if you bought tickets from a reseller/discounter a short time after a WDW ticket price increase, the tickets you have will be from the previous year's stock.
That doesn't matter if you use the tickets as-is, but if you intend to upgrade, it can mean
a higher price to do so."
only if I log in under my freedom. Checked on DH's CSR yesterday and no luck. Wonder what the hold up is rolling out the new interface to CSR?Sooooo has anyone had luck with Disney hotels in the UR portal since the change the other day? What dates are you searching?
except we still have no info on the mapping to know what to upgrade to..."After 8/18, certificates cannot be upgraded or downgraded, regardless of when they were purchased" definitely get those upgrades in if you're thinking you might want one folks!
Does the horse's travel at least code as "travel"?Yeesh you guys have been busy today! Made it to my horse show with only a slight delay in ATL this morning. We flew on what looked like a new A320 to ATL that was really nice. After we left our Hilton hotel this morning I sent a message on the app saying that our shower was taking 30 minutes to drain. I got a call about an hour ago from the manager of the hotel to apologize and let me know that he had checked it and had taken the room out service. He verified that I paid with points (20k) and told me he was going to refund me 10k for my trouble. I thought that was more than fair and thanked him for being so attentive! Definitely appreciate the prompt customer service, especially since I’ve never heard back from the Hilton Anaheim.
I also realized what a churning win this trip is. DH’s round trip flight was free, but that was from a previous work trip getting canceled and he had a balance on his Delta account for that amount (really don’t know how that worked, but whatever). DH has enough Delta miles for me to fly free round trip. The Marriott we’re staying in is a cat 1 costing us 30,000 points for our stay. And DH had a pile of Hertz points from when he used to travel for work that he used for our rental car, so we only paid $17 for our car! Somehow he ended up getting gold status (seriously he hasn’t traveled for work in 2 years, how??) and we got upgraded to an SUV.
Now if only there was a way to churn the costs for the horse haha just kidding. I love him enough to pay for him, but getting a horse to Oklahoma ain’t cheap!!

I have stayed at that Marriott a couple of time for work trips. It’s been a few years though. It was a nice location. I remember there was a rooftop barbecue restaurant there and it had a mechanical bull that people enjoyed riding. I did not attempt it though. Thanks! I’ve been looking at so many hotels lately I couldn’t remember last night if that was one that’s going down in points. I’ll keep an eye on it.
Yeah, the double beds is kind of a bummer, but this hotel seemed the most kid-friendly out of the choices and I want to be on Condado beach. We’ve stayed in double bed rooms before and managed alright.
There is an AC Hotel that has 2-queen rooms but it’s not beach front, and a Courtyard in Isla Verde. If you’re looking for Marriott options in San Juan that have 2-queen rooms. There are also a couple Ritz Carlton properties but I didn’t look at those.

Overall depends on what tickets you want. What is their price on UCT vs Disney? Then decide is 5x UR worth more than 3x UR plus the cash discount? I think CIP plus UCT will be best.
My example: 7 day hoppers for 2 adults
$1043.70 from Disney, $959.78 from UCT ($83.92 less)
If I bought GCs from Walgreens with my Freedom to pay, I'd earn 5218.5 URs worth $78.28 ($1043.70*5*.015cpp)
If I bought from UCT with CIP, I'd earn 2879 URs worth $43.19, plus save $83.92
I would have gone with CIP in this case.
ETA: Have had no trouble linking UCT tickets to MDE
Dang, I am so jealous. I'd love my kids to have that schedule. And I totally agree with you on the classroom thing. Frankly, in regards to parent schedules, I couldn't care less. School isn't daycare.
I have now tried that darn offer twice! I bought a $50 GC and a spiral notebook for a $.25. Both time I could not get that darn offer to kick. I have both DH and my AmEx linked and no dice either time. Thank goodness I was getting the 10% off else I would be really pissed. I’ve decided RMN is a joke. As much as I would to save $10, I have better things to do with my time. What I typed was vague looking back on it. I should have said...will a gift card purchase trigger the requirement or should I add on something else small so its not an even amount.
I tried all summer to talk the boys into it. My 8 year old was on board. My 10 year old was not. I couldn't convince myself to do only 1 kid and be tied to the school schedule for the other. You would make a good homeschooler
