Glad you are having fun:banana: Sorry about your husband not feeling well
Hope you guy's have fun at T.L. :beach:

Sarah~ Things will "right" themselves soon I'm sure of it.

I'm still waiting for that to happen!! :confused3

The new floors went in and they're lovely.

My husband started his new job and, er, he loves the iPad they gave him (unsure of how work is going, but he is enjoying the toys).

When we got back from vacation, my boss walked in to my office and informed me she'd been diagnosed with (Stage 0) breast cancer. However, this Monday, she had appointments with all the doctors that will be involved in her care, and it's worse than expected (though not, like, Stage IV). I got that in an email on Tuesday, while I was working from home. She was out Wednesday for another biopsy, but was in yesterday, will be in today, may or may not be in on Monday and then will probably be out 8-9 weeks starting on Tuesday. It's incredibly stressful for me and she's ONLY my boss!

Oh well. I indulged in a little retail therapy so hopefully that will help.

SPEAKING OF: Yesterday, in the mail, I got a Disney gift card from my TA, as a thank you for referring some friends who went on a cruise with us.

In February.

*facepalm* Not my brother, who used my TA for the first time in June. But a gift card from FEBRUARY. Two weeks after I'm back from Disney. I can't decide what to do with the card (especially how to not lose it!). Oh well.

:( I'm sorry. That's terrible. Admittedly, the card is a little amusing. The rest, though, not so much. :(

At the WL we actually got upgraded to club level for free! We were a woods view. When checking in I asked about it and actually got it. First time I ever asked for something! It was awesome having snacks all day for the baby. It was nice for us too. Breakfast was a real plus for us cause we both usually just eat cereal and fruit. That saved us 20 bucks a day alone. @ nights we stayed back for the dinner thing with them. It was real good both nights. nice pick of choices to eat. We actually filled up and cx'ed dinner those 2 nights. Didn't expect to either. Nighttime dessert was ok. nothing special. I would say breakfast the big plus for us along with food for the baby. She made herself right at home. Everyday when we got up or came back to the 7th floor she went right for the fridge to get apple juice. it was pretty funny.
our room was a magic kingdom woods view. perfect shot of the castle through the trees. we were room 7050.
all in all great experience and are deff thinking of changing to a jr suite for november's trip if the sister-in-law decides to come.

jim

We are a family of 5 so our CL room will be on one of the lower floors (there are no Jr.Suites on the 7th floor). This was our last trip with our youngest being free (She turns 3 in November this year) so we were able to stay in a bunk bed room with a beautiful court yard view (4145 I believe was the number). We are serious WL lovers though and find it suits us just fine with everything in one building, great views in the lobby where you notice new things every visit and a GREAT staff! We were treated to a view of Wishes from the roof of the Lodge on this last trip as well as a white chocolate Donald complete with a fruit tray and Granola with a great bottle of Evian and buckets loaded with treats for the girls. We have visited other resorts but just didn't feel any vibe from them.

I hear ya. I loved the feel of the lodge. It's warm. I always felt the GF was cold when we stayed there. There are always kids running around in the lodge. No one says anything. Just a fun place. I can't wait for our thanksgiving trip when all is decorated. I love how they bring Mickey and Minnie in for pics at night and all the games for the kids.

That's awesome about wishes. I heard about it. How did u come to be offered it can I ask?

When we checked in, we asked about being a Flag Family while we were there, but it was all full sans the day we were to check out to come back to my folks house here in VA. I kept telling the CM checking us in it was ok just let it go to another family and the manager was there listening in and said "No, we will work something out" asked to see our ADR list and since we had early dinner @ Ohana one night he set it up then. He asked if we just wanted to go up and see the view and I told him that's what everyone goes up there for lol. He told us to not tell our girls but be in the Lobby at 9:45pm. We were escorted up by a lovely young gentleman (I want to say his name was Tyler). Stopped on the 7th floor where he offered us things from their goodies that night but we declined, then he took us up through another door with stairs to the 7 1/2 floor and up yet again to the roof. We could see EVERYTHING from the 7 1/2 floor! It was awesome!

I agree with the GF, it's way to stuffy for our tastes, I love that my kids can run through the lobby ahead of us to the pool or towards the boat dock and no one shakes a head either direction.

Carrie - You've got the Disney Maniac Fever. As you know, you'll have all the energy once you get settled at Disney. Have a great time !!!

We are confirmed for July 14th - 22nd 2012 - We are going through WDW withdraws right now !!

Sometimes my DD's friends are over for the weekend to swim and sleepovers. I am use to cooking, cleaning and entertaining them until they all go home. At times, I could have up to 6 girls over at a time. They all call me Mr. Bob - Dad. I 've known all of them since Pre-K and they will all be going into the 6th grade this year. It's fun having them over.
Bob, I don't think I relaxed at all from that moment until today, really :) You are a brave man, first all those girls over at your house and second going back to WDW in July. We've decided we're over that. Perhaps another summer visit in August in a few years. Next year, we're planning on some time in October.

Happy belated birthday!

I think I'm finally almost recouperated from vacation :lmao:

We had a wonderful time at WDW! Honestly, the only thing I can say we'd do differently when we go back, is we would rest more and not try to cram everything in! We also would NOT go in July so we could miss the stupid "Backpack Brigade" as I now call them. You couldn't go into one of the counter service restaurants in the parks without having to deal with them, and their apparent inability to clean up after themselves! And if ONE more of them ran into one of my kids without so much as an "excuse me" I'd SCREAM!! I just started shoving back :)

...

Hope everyone leaving this weekend has a GREAT time! And if one of those annoying Backpack Brigaiders gets in your way, give them an elbow and say it's from me! :rolleyes1

Congrats on both your engagement and your nephew's good news! We're in agreement with you about July. Maybe someday the trauma will wear off. We've been in July before. It wasn't as bad as this trip at all, maybe because we went earlier in the month?

Just got back to my mom's house today. We had a GREAT time (even with the heat and the BTG's) and it was so nice to meet the wonderful ladies in Epcot on the 20th! I just looked at my photo pass pictures (and edited some of them) and they look awesome! I won't be home when my CD comes though (at least I don't think I will) but will post them up as soon as I can! DH had a GREAT time and even said he want's go to back NEXT YEAR (although not in July lol)!!!!! We are thinking about going down in November for Gillian's 4th birthday.

Carrie, Tink, PopArtGal, DalmationGal, and Mo~ It was so nice to meet all of you and your wonderful families! Hailey really enjoyed having little girls near her own age to play with in the parks (if even for a little bit) and hopefully we can all get together on another trip for a visit (and maybe a lunch).

To those of you on your way down there now or shortly~Have a GREAT trip! Enjoy yourself and enjoy the magic! Don't let the BTG's take away from your magic, hold on to it for yourself and keep it close! Remember to enjoy the pool where ever you stay and take breaks from the heat!

It was great meeting you, too. It was nice for the girls to get to play with someone. Kristina is usually so quiet I was surprised when she started talking to the other girls (finally! lol).

In other news ... it's my birthday today :cheer2:

Happy belated birthday to you, as well :)

SO glad you had a great R&R!!!!! The guys (and us!!) deserve it!!!

We are hoping to go next October for Alex's birthday LOL We will probably miss each other by a few weeks again if it works out!

Enjoy the rest of R&R :) How many more months will you have left once he goes back? We still have 6 months left :(

Hey, we are going in October next year, we just aren't sure exactly when yet. We get Jewish holidays off in our schools here, so whatever week they fall, so we can miss less school, that's the week we'll go.

NO! DO NOT DO THIS!

Thanks ;) I did remember that! lol

My Mom got DH and I a hotel room for one night so we could have some alone time and she also bought us 50 dollars for Olive Garden. We had a nice Adult's Only night and were discussing our next trip:banana:

Sounds great, hope you guys had a wonderful night! If you come down to this side of NY, let me know and maybe we can meet somewhere for lunch or something!

Well I'm home!! :sad2: That was the quickest 2 weeks ever!! Had a lovely time as usual!! Missing it already!! Enjoyed POFQ but not our overall favourite.

Was great to meet everyone on 20th - everyone was even nice and normal, not internet weirdos - hahaha!!

mo x
Sorry about your jet-lagged little guy. It's rough at that age. I was glad there were no internet weirdos, myself :rotfl2::rotfl2: We enjoyed the rock; thanks !! Glad it was nice when you got home :)

Well we are home. Safe and exhausted.

Glad you made it safely :)

I think I've made it through all the pages I missed since I was gone :)
To everyone still there, hope you are having a great time!
Indy, miprender and becky: Sorry you guys couldn't make the meet, but hope you all had great trips!

Glad you are having fun:banana: Sorry about your husband not feeling well
Hope you guy's have fun at T.L. :beach:

We are having a blast! Thank you ^_^
Yeah, it was just a bit of tummy trouble. He was fine in the morning :)

We did have a lot of fun at TL but we got sunburnt!! Blah! We were so careful with sunblock! We still have 1 more day (AK) then a 4.5 hour flight to Utah ... last thing you want is a sunburn. Lol here's to hoping it's a mild one! :rolleyes1

Super - :thumbsup2 - Be careful going home.:flower3: Utah is a beautiful state.

To All - I am very glad everyone had and is having a great time. :thumbsup2

This year is the first time I have been on DISboard and it has been a lot of fun visiting with all of you. :lmao: It has made our pre-vacation, vacation and post-vacation a blast.:dance3: You all are a super neat group of Disney Maniac's and to be a part of a Dis meet, WOW!!! it was grand.

I have been viewing pictures and video's of our trip :happytv: with my DD and we really miss WDW. I have Pic's and Vid's of all 11 WDW trips.

Thanks to all of you friends for making our vacation complete.

Well we are home. Safe and exhausted.

Glad you got home ok! It was nice to meet you!

Carrie~ We will have to see what the Army has in store for DH, if they have us there for a few more years then I will most deffinately take the Mega Bus to NYC for a weekend and we can get together. I will introduce you to a Frozzen Hot Chocolate too!

Marc and I enjoyed our one kid free night but kept thinking it was weird not holding little hands or having a 2 year old crawl into bed with us at 6am :rotfl2: I HIGHLY recommend seeing Transformers:Dark Side of the Moon though! It's an awesome flick!

I'm in the soft planning stages for November 2012. Currently scoping out resorts to see if renting a Villa would be more economical or if we should do CL at the WL or try the Cabins at FW. I wouldn't mind doing the cabins so much if we drove to FL but will have to see where we are living next year. DH has put in for Ft. Bliss in El Paso which has me excited, I've only ever driven on the 10 towards CA past El Paso lol.

Seriously  my DIS friends to the max and hope I get to see those of you I already met again and meet more of you in the future!

Texas will be a big change from Drum LOL We are in 'PCS' mode too ... trying to get Tampa (Macdill AFB) but we will see what happens. Also thinking of Ft Stewart or Ft Meade or Belvoir in DC area ... but we probably won't move until December 2012 or possibly try and stay until summer of 2013, to minimize school issues.

I agree, dis friends rock!!!!

Awww 3.5 months will go by fast!!!! I am really sad Dennis will miss Christmas... they *could* come home as they won't be needed past November, but someone over there who has no life has made the decision to stay 'for the extra money' ... grrrr!!!!!

Yep I think next trip will be October 2012 for us. I was miserably hot this past trip!

I am not sure about military discount for rooms ... I hope they continue it! I am sure they make lots of money off of military families that would not go without the discounts!

I hope they keep the discounts - the military really deserves it!

I agree - DIS friends are the greatest - this has been an exceptional group!

I used to live in El Paso - my brother was stationed there multiple times. It has been awhile, but if you do end up there - I would be happy to answer any questions or give you suggestions.........

Kellie~ When DH and I got married, he was stationed at Ft. Hood in Killeen and I lived in San Antonio. My main problem with Drum is EVERYTHING is so spread out! I have to drive 30 minutes to get to one friend's house:eek: I am so ready for change though! Oh and if you do get Belvoir you will most surely like it! There is a pool near one of the chapels (next to the PX and the Commissary) that has slides and other little things of the like for your kiddo's!
I hope they keep the discounts - the military really deserves it!

Wendy~ Would love any information I can get (including suggestions!). We are still waiting to find out what is going on with us though. DH found out today that we hadn't gotten orders prior because he made rank and once you do then your stuck at that duty station for 3 years. Lucky for us we have been at Drum for almost 4 years at his current rank.
I hope that Disney keeps up with the military discounts too, it's one way we can afford to go. I know other military would say stay at Shades of Green, but I like that while staying on property I can get the dining plan and that's one less thing I have to worry about saving money for. I think the discount is year long though and if that's the case then we will most assuredly be going in November (The heat was just to much for us this year).

DH told me he is on one of the FIRST flights back to Drum in the fall!:dance3:
He also told me he gained 10lbs while we were at Disney:eek: I can only guess how much weight I gained back lol

Would you believe that when we went through security at the airport there was a BTG on the other side, you should have seen Ashley's face! What really did her in was the group on Spaceship Earth taking flash pictures the entire ride - she was livid - she was complaining about it very loudly......

It was so nice meeting you and your family - Ashley also thought your daughters were adorable -

I missed this post somehow:laughing:

Tell Ashley I feel her pain! We had part of a BTG on Pirates with us who kept snapping flash photography the ENTIRE boat ride! I so wanted to toss their cameras in the water! I do admit though that I took 2 pictures of CM's before the boat got going lol. You and your entire family were really sweet (even your son running around looking for a Photo Pass guy for us!). Hopefully we can meet up again some time!

 Hello everyone. Only 2 more park days left and we leave on Wednesday. I can't believe how fast two weeks can go bye.

We did the Pirates League today and it was a great experience. My DD said she liked it better than BBB and she is a total princess so that says something:lmao:

Hello everyone!!

Just got back from the airport ... our flight was delayed, as we were on the flight. Rather large storm right over the airport ... I wonder if WDW got some?

Anywho, I'll hopefully start my trip report this week and if not, next week at the latest ^_^

Sad I didn't get to meet any DISers, maybe next time ^_^
