Hey Devin, nice to 'see' you! I was just telling Double Dip and vow renewal stories at work Friday!

As Nancy mentioned, some of us will be at WDW in six weeks for a little Turf n Surf frolick with a 3 day on DCL. A year just feels WAYYY to long to go between cruises, but with only five months between this one and the '08 cruise, my pocketbook is screaming a little!

I said to myself yesterday, "Self, I wonder how much money I have given to Disney in the last decade?" I REALY DON"T WANT TO KNOW!

We haven't picked our next cruise date, but we leave in 9 days to go to DL! :thumbsup2 I'd rather be cruising, but the trip will still be fun. :goodvibes

Three weeks from today, I'm done with work and will be preparing for a Sunday departure to WDW/DCL :cool1:

SIX MONTHS from today, I'll be back in FL and waiting for my final 'sleep' before getting on the Magic for 14 days!! :cool1: :cool1:

Wendy, enjoy your trip to Disneyland!

Hello All!!!
We can't wait till our 10/25/08 cruise. Our friends who cruised with us last time are actually at our house this week end for some Disney fun. We are going to the mvmcp and for the first time the castle will be covered in 200,000 lights. We can't wait. WE are also looking foward to hopefully seeing out cruisin' friends in December.

I'm glad the lights are up and ready for us!!!! We are planning on hooking up with you for lunch on Wed. Does that still work for you???

We are then gonna try and head over to DTD or something like that (people refuse to spell stuff out for me ) but I know it has something to do with getting ice cream with Dee & Winn... wouldn't that be lovely?

Did Jackie tell you that our sis-in-law is coming with us for the cruise portion? We are VERY happy about that! I've known her since I was in grade school - my brother and her are now divorced, but she's still my sis and always will be.

I'm glad you are enjoying your pals - please tell the Vito's Hey for me, and Angie too!!!:woohoo:

I can't wait to see you guys!! And let me tell you the castle is AMAZING!!!!! Words can not explain how well it re-charged me.We had such a wonderful visit with our friends. Angie was sick and of corse I am now sick but all in all it was a fantastic weekend.

For all of you who may be going on a cruise on 11/8/08 there is a thread already started for you want to go there. Here is the address:
http://www.disboards.com/showthread....5&goto=newpost
Some cruisers are on another thread right now as they are going cruising in a week, but hopefully when they get back and settled they will join us all here.

I'm confused... are the folks crusing 11/8 people we've cruised with before... or are you trying to tempt us into cruising then? I've pretty much decided I'm not cruising Disney again until I get the itineraries I WANT. HEAR THAT DISNEY??? ALASKA AND HAWAII!!!! Ok, I doubt that will work, but I do want to check out some other cruise lines. I loved Disney, but I've run some numbers on other cruises... holy smokes I can get a SUITE for the same price as a Disney regular room - no verandah. Now, granted, I won't have the Disney experience, but I'm willing to spread my wings a bit... now watch - I'll hate it and be back begging the DISNEY God's forgiveness....

Some of the people that have popped into that thread were on the cruise in Nov 2006 and will be on the Nov 2008 cruise. Some are new cruisers to Disney. Yes I agree there are much cheaper cruiselines and just as nice as Disney, but if you are a Disney fan you want Disney and all the amenities that go with it. I certainly enjoyed my first Disney cruise in Nov 2006 and will also enjoy this one in Nov 2008. My biggest impression with Disney is cleanliness. Maybe when the other two ships are built they will put one on the West coast that will cruise to Alaska and Hawaii. :thumbsup2

Ok, gotcha!!! I'll have to pop over there and check it out... Disney is clean that is true... but how nasty could the others be? Hmmmm maybe VERY nasty... :lmao: :cool1: :rotfl2:

Hey strangers! Been a while...

just got noticed to host a DCL party. Guess I'll spend the next six weeks getting the past two years pictures in an album or scrapbook--FINALLY! Very excited! Oh! and if anyone remembers the Konk Kooler recipe or where it was I could find it, would you pass it on? DH wants to make them for our party tomorrow night and it's been a year and I can't find the scrap piece of paper I wrote it on!
melanie

Sorry Melanie- loved the drink, but I don't have the recipe either. Have fun with your DCL party!

I was in St Thomas and I went over to the Marriott Hotel Wednesday to see the MAGIC leave the harbor - I felt very sad not being on her - but she sure is looking good!!!

I thought I saw you waving at me :rotfl2:

Really, as the ship went by, we could hear the sailaway music...and the announcements - Good afternoon ladies and gentlemen, boys and girls..... :woohoo:

My DH had to restrain me from swiming out to the ship  :yay: :dance3:

Hi Dee -- How did you like the Marriott at St. Thomas? Have you stayed at the Aruba Marriott?

We are Marriott Vacation Club members, are thinking of staying a week at one of these properties. Any recommendations?

P.S. Lovely pictures!

Hi Woody,
I own at the MAR Aruba Surf Club - going for 2 weeks in March - we go every year and love it - great beaches and wonderful restaurants - a flat, long island..LOL.. so the driving is easy. Really nice property with a beautiful beach and use of the hotel amenities - my favorite casino on the island.

St Thomas is very mountainous and also beautiful - you can also easily visit St John and the British Virgin Islands....driving is on the left and did I mention the HILLS/Mountains!
The Marriott's location is breathtakingly beautiful - on a promontory overlooking the harbor on one side and the ocean on the other....wonderful sunsets from the hotel, beautiful pool at the hotel.
The TS units are very nice - non-lock-off 2BRs. - hanging off the side of a cliff! All will have a wonderful harbor/ocean view.

Here is a picture from the hotel looking toward the harbor with the TS units on the right and the Disney Magic hiding behind the very big Norwegian Dawn in the background.

Thank you so much for the information. Every time we go from St. Thomas to St. John, we see the St. Thomas Marriott and it looks lovely. I've driven at St. John, and while for me it's not intuitive to drive on the left, I can manage.

We have four weeks banked for 2008-2009, and are exploring where to use them. It would be great to meet up on St. Thomas or Aruba some time!

Thank you again for the info.

Cheers,
Woody

Great pictures Pat!

My friend Cheri (who's house party I was at this weekend) won one of the two cruises DCL gave away to hostesses! Needless to say, she's just a bit excited and is now taking 'offers' from all of her friends who want to weazle in on the prize! :rolleyes1 She's never been to WDW, so will probably tie in a trip there at the same time if she can (retired teacher--fixed income).

Now let's wait to see if any of us 'guests' win one of the four cruises they will award in February....fingers crossed!
