I'll be working on getting everything together over the next few days, but I thought we just needed to start with a landing zone. Check in, subscribe, and let the Disney June Party begin!

Thank you so much for starting this.

We haven't booked yet, but we've always gone in June. We are definitely going. It is just a matter of getting a decent deal. I don't have our dates yet. We are so excited!

My DD will be 21 by then, so DH is taking her on an EPCOT wine tour. Other than that, no plans yet.

Can't wait to hear about everyone's June trips.

We're in the same boat. We're talking about booking by the end of next month, but so many decisions to make before then! Our dates will be the 20th - 27th or 28th. We always go that week because my birthday is the 24th and DD's is the 25th.

The conversation started like this...

DM: Maybe we should do a cruise next year...
Me: But we still have to do a day or two at Disney.
DM: Yeah...you're right. We can't break tradition and have to have our year shirts...

So.. a couple of days. One at Epcot, one at MK. We'd be happy.

DM: But we always do 2 days at MK and 2 days at Epcot. We couldn't NOT do that. ... But she didn't get to go on KRR this year...made her upset...so we have to go to AK so she can do that. ... Can't NOT go to HS if we're going everywhere else... And we were supposed to do a water park this year, but didn't...and mini golf...

So, where I was planning on at least a couple of days, it has, again, turned into a week.

That is not a complaint, btw!

Yay!! Glad to see we have an official spot now!

We just started talking about it, still not 100% sure but pretty darn close. We've never gone in June before and crowds are making me a little nervous as we start to think about it. Our DD dances and her year-end recital will be June 7 so I'm thinking of leaving either immediately after that, the evening of the 7th or the next day.

Like I said, just starting to think about it and pull some ideas (and prices ) together but super excited to start talking with you all!

I hear ya about worrying about the summer crowds, we went last summer June 23 - 30 and it was crazy crowded!! Swore we would never do a summer trip again. Well now a year later and I'm missing wdw big time so a summer 2014 trip it is lol!! Too hard to take the kids out of school but I'm hoping the beginning of the month won't be as bad as the end of the month!

I'm hoping the same as far as earlier in the month being better! I've read multiple places about how the first 2 or so weeks in June aren't too bad yet, so my fingers are crossed.

Our schools around here have gradually gone from getting out in early June to getting out around May 20 or so. Ideally, I'd do a late April/early May trip - that's been my favorite time to go. We took them out of school once (March trip, we won't do that again - weather just wasn't what we want on vacation and much more crowded than I expected) and I really don't have a problem doing it but I just can't justify taking them out when they only have a few weeks left, ya know? Darn school system messing up my ideal Disney time.

We've been going in June since 2006. Although, yes, it is crowded, it is doable. We tend to go the 3rd week.
Each day gets a little more crowded than the last. We are going to try and get there a little earlier this June. Maybe around the 10th.

Our school gets out June 6th next year. However, I have to take into account extra snow days. I am a teacher, and we can't take the last 5 days of school off for vacation. I know that if I booked right after school ends, we would have a blizzard that will close school for a week.

I have heard that too about the first couple weeks being less crowded then the last two so we shall see. The heat and humidity I can deal with but all the people makes it hard and we are a rope drop family and I found it really was only slightly less crowded for the first hour!

I wish our schools got out in May and actually their last day is scheduled or May 31st so I could even plan a trip leaving June 1st but there is always snow days that need to be made up and with our youngest graduating 8th grade she wont want to miss all the end of year festivities. Plus our older daughter will have finals since she's a junior, so I agree with you darn schools messing with our plans

I'm a teacher, too...and if you want to talk about "messed up" school schedules...

In Alabama, there is a law that says we can't start any earlier than 2 weeks before Labor Day (because of tourism...hasn't helped) or end later than the Friday before Memorial Day. Now, this law had a 2 year period, no one has tried to renew it, so it is gone in October.

In my school system, teachers go back the 8th. We'll have 2 Fridays off, but 5 days of Institute/Inservice. All kids in the state (that I am aware of, if they are in public school) go back on the 19th (2 weeks before Labor Day). After that...it's up in the air.

My DD9 is in a different school system. I will work Labor Day, she will be off. We will both get Columbus Day and Veteran's Day, but I get the whole week at Thanksgiving while she only gets 3 days.

I think both of our school systems get out the same day for Christmas Break, and the kids might return the same day this year. But, for the first time in a LONG time, 1st semester/term will extend into January. DD will get out with a 1/2 day January 9th (January 10th is a teacher work day, so no school for her), and my students will get out with a 2/3 day on January 10th (no work day for us.) We get MLK Day this year (I didn't last year, but DD did) as well as Presidents' Day. My Spring Break is in March 10-14; hers is March 24-28. (In the past, mine has been in March, with hers in April, then swapped...hers in March, mine in April...Now it's been like this for the past couple of years or so.) I *think* we both get Good Friday.

But...

She will get out the Friday before Labor Day. My students will get out the Thursday AFTER...my last day being the Friday after.

I think I've got that all right. My Mom will take off on Labor Day (again) to stay with DD (because the day care she would otherwise be at also closes for Labor Day.

The later in June it gets, the more crowded it gets, especially the last week. A LOT of people go for the 4th of July. It hasn't been too bad (to us), although it seemed extra hot this year.

Do want to welcome all of you to the thread. What all kind of information should we gather here? I see some of the other threads have links to useful planning information...others just have a list of who going, when they're going, where they're staying...DISmeets and the like.

We're debating if we should stay at CBR or POR -- or should we go to CS?

Personally We love POFQ. Small: so close to everything. Good food court. One word: Beignets

The bus picks up here first and lets off first before going to POR.

Thanks for starting this! We are planning a June- July trip staying at POFQ next year. It will be late June since we plan on being there for 4th July (yeah, so I guess I have divided loyalties here since I'm part July, lol)

Planning fanatic mom, we were totally supposed to go check out the beignets this last trip but didn't make it. We may have to think about that one, too... I know when FQ has it's own bus at the parks, that line is always shorter...

Really and truly, we'd like to stay at OKW, but the website says there aren't any availabilities for the week we want to go.

I can't wait to get a few more people. I'd love to do some Disney trivia, plan some Disney-themed nights....oh...if only I could just run down for a day or two before school starts!

Favorite Disney Movie: Such a tough choice! Today, my knee-jerk reaction is Lady and the Tramp. I think I may get the Lady pillow pet next trip, if she's still there...
How Many Trips?: 9 (1982, 1988, 1998, 2008, 2009, 2010, 2011, 2012, 2013)
On-Site or Off?: On for all but the first three.
Best Disney Story: The first trip in which I got to take my DD, who was 4 at the time.. We went in October of 2008, and, thinking we wouldn't be back for a long time, we went all out. We did the castle package at the BBB, afterwards having dinner at 1900PF. Cinderella came by our table first, naturally. We have a wonderful picture of Cinderella with my DD, also dressed as Cinderella. Just beautiful. Then, next came Prince Charming. Imagine the scene....Prince Charming, posed with my beautiful DD -- who is dressed as Cinderella... And... the camera quit working. (I say now that Cinderella broke my camera....) No picture of her with Prince Charming. No picture of her with either step-sister or Lady Tremaine. When the waltz started, Anastasia ran up to her and snatched her up, spinning and twirling and dancing with her. I looked over at Mom, who was contentedly watching and not videoing the experience with the video camera she was carrying. No pictures for me! And no video, either! The camera wouldn't work the rest of the trip, and that was a time when I was the only one who had a camera. The rest of the pictures were taken by my DD's 35mm Princess camera. Not BAD pictures, but I'm not a great photographer without that digital viewscreen. After the trip...I learned that it only took about 30 seconds worth of button pushing to reset the camera and have it working again. Was totally mad then, but it's a story that's so fun to tell (and you should see me tell it in person!)

Tip of the Week (would this be a good weekly thing? More often? Less?)
Are you celebrating something? Let them know at check-in, or visit guest relations in any park or at DTD and get a button. You may wear it on your special day, but you are generally encouraged to wear it all week! You may run in to all kinds of extra magic just because you are wearing that button. (Just remember, though, your mileage may vary on that extra magic business.) Ask me if you would like some examples of the magic we've experience during our birthday week!

Best Disney Story: First family trip to the World, DD was 2. We were in Dinoland at AK, and my wife was getting ready to snap a pic of her, when the costumed dinosaur came up behind her and pretended to chomp on her...she had no idea it was there, and she was just smiling "cheese!!" at my wife.

My family and by best bud's family (party of 10 total) are going June 1-8. Staying off property in a condo that will fit us all for a very reasonable price. Doing the 7 day water park option passes. Get to book ADRs December third. Can't wait!

I am doing the planning for the entire trip. My friend's family have never been to WDW, while this will be my family's third trip. Have lots planned with the water park and more options, including golf for the dads and two of the sons, spa for the moms and daughters, and Disney Quest, and our first trips to the two water parks!

We are hoping for some kind of deal for the beginning of June. I know that sometimes POFQ are part of the deals, but I am hoping of some fairy dust. We really like this resort the last time we went.
