Josh really likes the idea of the Food & Wine Fest. And I've never been to Disney while it was going on, so it'll be fun to experience it!

I'm pretty sure I'm renting DVC points at BCV or BWV.. if that doesn't work out, we'll probably stay at Caribbean Beach maybe?

We always go in the fall---leaving this Friday. Sept and Oct seem to have lower crowds and we have always been lucky with the weather. Love doing everything, even though we are in our 50's we are booking a character breakfast just for fun. Favorite attraction is soarin. And the food and wine fest is great fun.

I agree, the crowds that time a year are great!!! Our first fall trip (not including my honeymoon eons ago) was October 2007 and we just fell in love with that time of year. And last year we were warning my MIL ahead of time about lines (we figured because of free dining it would be crowded), but we actually walked on most of the rides. It was amazing.

I agree, nancy, Soarin' is one of my favorite rides. I listen to the music at work all the time!

Thanks for sharing. Hopefully, we'll get more people as time goes on.

We will be taking our first Fall trip next year!!

No plans as of yet. We are looking into Bonnet Creek (can't do that until Jan.) or we'll probably stay at SoG again.

I am so excited to go to MNSSHP and F&W. They are the two events at Disney I have been dying to go to.

DH isn't excited for the trip as of right now. He doesn't understand how I can plan another trip when we haven't gone on our December trip yet.

We came back last April and I immdiately booked this October trip. I starteed planning right away, so no, it's not too early. I am leaving on Friday for Disney and since this trip is pretty much planned, I am looking at next year. Have fun, get planning! It helps make the time seem to move along a bit quicker.

We will most likely be staying at CBR. That is where we stayed this past March and we really liked it. We also love POP, but with 3 kids now, we are outgrowing it My boys are 7 1/2, almost 5, and 13 mths.

I am going September 2011....its the BEST time of year to go...really low crowds and all....we used to always go in October, but the work schedule doesnt allow for it anymore, so September it is....I am already planning it all (i think we already know what ADR's we want), and esp looking forward to free DDP!!!!! We really enjoyed eating at Tusker House and Tutto Italia last year, so they are on our to-do list. Hubby is also agreeing to try Coral Reef. And, because my daughter was sick and couldn't go, we are going to do appetizers and desserts at the California Grill. I know free dining is extended through the end of September next year. I am hoping October will eventually be included, but I won't be upset if it isn't.....we'll just have to budget accordingly.

I think that if we don't rent DVC points, we'll check in before September 29th (my birthday!) so we can have free dining during our whole stay

Heey! I love Tusker House Breakfast (i did love it Dinoland tho to) And we did Coral Reef the last time we were there and it was delicious and sitting near the aquarium and watching the sea life was awesome! But we always do Chef Mickeys thats a must but i think we want to do something different so we were thinking maybe Mexico or Italy.... we havent been there yet. But i guess i still have plenty of time to figure things out

Count us in for October 2011. We have gone the past 5 years in September and moving it to October cause of dh work obligations. This will be our first time going in October.

Wow, I thought I was the only one who planned this far in advance!

I am looking at (but nothing is nailed down yet) doing the 8th-16th, although because of the commute (from Washington state), we'd only have park days on the 9th-15th. We'll (probably) be staying at the POP. It'll be just me and my mom for my 17th birthday - this will be her third trip, and it'll technically be my second, but I don't think a trip at the age of three really counts! She's not much of a planner, so I've been put totally in charge

-and I fully intend to make the most of everything! Can't wait!

Hello!!! I am so sorry....life has seemed to catch up with me and between football, dance, baton and developmental evaluations for the little one, I have been "off-line" for awhile.

Now, let's get down to business:
prnces1214: Italy has great food!!! Even my Italian-American hubby was impressed (and that's really hard to do!). I was stuck between linguini with clam sauce and caprese; and the food looked, smelled and tasted amazing. I can't wait to eat at The Coral Reef. I do hope they extend free dining, but I am not going to hold my breath. We don't do Chef Mickey's - too loud and a bit much for us, but to each their own. We ate at Tusker House for lunch and thoroughly enjoyed it. The prime rib was a bit too rare, but they had the most wonderful salads and other sides it more than made up for it (plus, they have more meats than just the prime rib).

stephgles - Welcome to the thread! My family originally started going in the fall due to my work obligations. Come to find out it is the best time of year for us. We'll be there approximately the same dates as you...maybe we can run into each other. I've always wanted to check out WL; I've seen pics and it looks great, but if I'm going to splurge, it's gotta be at the Poly!

Cayenne - Happy to have you on board! We don't count the first or last days of our trip either; to us, they are travel days. So, even though we are going Oct 20th to the 29th (or 30th, if I can wrangle it), we will actually only be in the parks on the 21st through the 28th (or 29th).

Mardeeld86 - Wow!!! I wish I could stay that long (but I wouldn't have a job to come back to). I bet your wedding will rock!! I plan to check out your journal very soon.
