School is Out, Let's hit the Road! We're Going to Disney World! PTR 5/27 - 6/11/2010

Dining Reservations and Other Plans

Friday 5/28 – Tony’s Town Square - Dinner - we have never ate here. This will be the end of our travel day and our one night stay at Coronado Springs.

Saturday 5/29 – Whispering Canyon Café for Breakfast - The plan is to check out of Coronado Springs. Head to Wilderness Lodge for Breakfast and then hit the road for our 2 night stay at Disney's Vero Beach, this will be our first off Property DVC stay.

Monday 5/31 – Tutto Italia - This is the beginning of our stay at AKL Kidani and our first Disney World DVC stay. We plan to spend the day at Animal Kingdom and have dinner at Epcot.

Tuesday 6/1 – Crystal Palace for Lunch - We also plan to spend the day at Magic Kingdom. I like lunch more than dinner because you get a break from the heat and afterwards, we will head back for a nap if we are tired and return later that night or head to a different park. We love park hopping!

also on Tuesday 6/1 – Allison has an appointment at BBB in Cinderella's Castle, she has had make overs twice before. She told me she is going to wear a skirt and not a princess dress because they are too scratchy!!! I am getting use to this attitude :sad2: I got her to keep the Belle Dress on long enough for a Photo session last year:

But before too long(about an hour and a half), she was back to this!

Wednesday 6/2 – Cape May Clambake - We really like this dinner. Last year we were the family of the day, we had a special table cloth, buttons, light house on our table and the kids got free kids drinks with a light up tinkerbell. Shawn was not feeling well this day, this dinner was perfect because there were so many good choices.

I think I got a little carried away there!!!

Saturday 6/5 (Star Wars Weekend - We are heading to Hollywood Studios)!!! We are having lunch at Hollywood & Vine - We ate here last year and it was nice to get out of the Heat of Hollywood Studios and sit down for a meal. The funny thing is I made the ADR so we could get out of the heat not for the characters, I could not remember all the characters names and nobody else could so we asked a family at another table. They knew them all. We did enjoy this lunch.

Sunday 6/6 (Another day at Hollywood Studios and Star Wars Weekend!!!) – On this day we will be eating at Mama Melrose’s for Lunch. Once again, I scheduled a lunch so we could get out of the heat for a while and relax. We have never ate at Mama Melrose. We have a reservations at 3 Italian eateries. We wanted to try them all and compare them, since we have not been to one of them.

Monday 6/7 - We are having Breakfast at Cape May. We have never had breakfast here, this will be new for us. This is also our Mommy/Daughter - Daddy/Son day! Shawn and Aaron are heading to Disney Quest for some game fun. Allison and I are having Tea at the Grand Floridian in the Garden View Tea Room. We did the Perfectly Princess Tea Party in 2008 and it was such a wonderful experience. Since then we have a tradition to have tea together at the Garden View Tea Room. We did this in 2009 and we are going to repeat this for 2010! I am not sure what we will do for the rest of the day. Probably swimming!

Tuesday 6/8 We have dinner at Ohana’s. We love this place!!! It is so much fun and we think the food is good too.

Thursday 6/10 Lunch at Le Cellier. Shawn really loves Le Cellier! So we go here every trip. We are not fans of the Cheese soup but we like the pretzel bread and the boys like the steak. Allison usually gets a hot dog and I try their sandwiches at lunch.

:dance3:

We love Liberty Tree, as well. Cape May is also a favorite of ours. Of your places, we are going to:

Cape May, Tutto Italia, and Crystal Palace (but we are doing breakfast here).

We love Mama Melrose's--the Chicken Parmesan is delicious!

Love 'Ohana! We aren't going this year, but we are trying Kona for the first time!

Liberty Tree Tavern was our first character dining experience way back when...in 2003...:goodvibes Need to get back there sometime.

Are you going crazy like me? I am so ready to be there!

Your pictures from Le Cellier look awesome! I'll have to go there sometime, I looooove pretzel bread!

Love the PP pics!!! Your DD is a cutie! :cutie:

We had a Cape May ADR for March but we ended up canceling it. It wasn't fitting in to our schedule. We will be eating there someday.

WWC- We ate there in March and I ordered the skillet. The chicken and potatoes were awesome but the other stuff... :crazy2: I wasn't really feeling it.

Chefs- Never ate here...

Ohana- I think it is my favorite meal in all of WDW. The food is awesome. The views are amazing. There is NO WAY to leave here hungry!

LTT- Never ate here

LeCellier- I had the best filet here!!! I loved the different breads and had the smores for dessert. Melody got the moose!!! It was a great meal!:goodvibes

Great ADR choices!!!:goodvibes Love all the food pics...yum!!:thumbsup2

We haven't tried Ohana's or Le Cellier yet but they are definitely on the top of our list for next trip!!

We love Liberty Tree Tavern!! It's one of our very favorites....but I really miss the characters.:sad2: I wish they would bring them back!!!

We ate at Kona for Breakfast last year. It was good but we have never had dinner there. I do not know if the picky eaters could handle it. When I took them to Boma, they threatened me. :scared1: So I try to be careful now. :rotfl:

I am so CRAZY LIKE YOU!!! I am losing it, I so need a vacation from my life and it is just not happening soon enough. I am packing, cleaning, making plans, packing......packing, and packing again!!! Really, I am! The Pretzel bread is really good but the cheese soup is not all that but you should try the cheese soup at least once you may like it.

Allison is a cutie!!! She is one of the loves of my life :lovestruc When we go to WCC, I agree, I am not ordering the skillet unless I am forced to. I am going to let Shawn order his skillet or we are leaving some food items off it. You should try LTT sometime, it is good. My pickey eaters (Shawn & Allison) love it. Hopefully, you can try Cape May sometime. Love the variety of vegetables, fruits, and soups and more....

Great ADR choices!!!:goodvibes Love all the food pics...yum!!:thumbsup2

Aww..Thanks Allison is my dream daughter come true. She is a girly girl but can't stand scratchy dresses. I enjoy letting her be a girl.

LLT - Definately miss Chip & Dale. They were so funny, in 2006 - they had a light saber fight in the restaurant. It was so hilarious!!! :rotfl2: Wish I had video of that one.

On with an update......Lilo & Stich Polynesian Ohana Night!!!

Hi Everyone!!!

We had Lilo & Stitch Polynesian Ohana Night the past Saturday 5/15/2010.

We did not make a menu and it was not as elaborate as the Toy Story or the Cars night but it was family fun. It was raining!! Blah...could have done w/o that and I am sure Shawn agrees, he cooked on the grill in the rain. It was just sprinkling but had to get our steak on.

Here are a few pics:

053.jpg
Table all decorated!!! We called the night our Lilo & Stitch - Polynesian - Ohana - Tiki Tiki Room night!! Way tooooo many titles.

054.jpg
Steak Kabobs! Yummy! This is why Shawn cooked in the sprinkling rain. We also had salads w/ the Ohana Honey lime dressing, fruit kabobs, chicken strips and I made dipping sauces the soy dipping sauce was good but the peanut sauce was terrible and was a shame compared to Ohana's Peanut sauce.

For Dessert we had Pineapple Angel Food Cake:

Here is Allison doing the Hula (see the wet deck behind her!!!)

Poor Aaron, I rarely post a pic of him here but he is usually playing video games! and will not participate in my disneyish stuff. Oh well. :confused3

After dinner, we watched the movie Lilo & Stitch! It was great, we had not seen it in a while. Overall, it was a great family time.

Wow, Disney nights must be the new thing, I have seen those on so many trip reports lately! They look like so much fun and I'm amazed at how much effort everyone puts into them. :thumbsup2

WOW Tina! Loving the Disney nights! You are doing an awesome job with them. The family fun is the best reason for doing them.

Your plans sound awesome. BTW, you have gotten me very hungry now. Love the food porn!

Ahh...I love your Lilo and Stitch night!!:thumbsup2 What a great idea!! It's too bad that it rained but it looks like it was still so much fun!:goodvibes

Another great Disney night!

I can feel for your DH but I grill in the rain all the time. I grill year round. I've grilled when it was -5 out and in snowstorms. The steak looks great!!! It is 1am here and you got me getting hungry with all the great food!!!!!! :goodvibes

Thanks! Rain, all it has done is RAIN for days around here. I am looking forward to sunshine and hot weather! :lovestruc

That Polynesian/'Ohana night looked wonderful!

Thank you! It was wonderful and fun. We were so tired from being busy all day but the menu was simple and I had decorated that morning. So it worked out.

Mmmmm....Food! We really like grilled meats around here. I don't know if Shawn has cooked in -5 degree temps but he has cooked out in 30 degree temps. In the summer, we live on salad and grilled foods and fruit. It is in season :confused3

:goodvibes

So we did online check in yesterday for Coronado Springs and for our Vero Beach Stay.

We are not doing online check in for our stay at AKV - Kidani. We want to request a certain location. Hopefully we will get it.

We want 2nd floor or up, we have a savannah view. We would like to be as close to main check-in area as possible (close to laundry) we do not have a one bedroom but a studio) and close to pool. So we will see. :cool1:

:dance3:

So one of our goals for our 2009 vacation was to have fun trying on different Hats around Disney! We are going to do something similar this year because it was so much fun and we got some great pics!

We had so much fun doing the hat thing, there were times the kids did not want to participate but it was few and far between. In fact, they started to add props and doing funny faces at times. We are definately going to do it again!!!

YAY! for online check-in!:yay:

Love all the hat pictures...what a great idea!:thumbsup2 I just might have to steal that for our next trip!!;) (If I can convince the boys...that is.:rolleyes1)
