DDA Chapter 5

Elin...after reading the guys review...I made reservations at Citricos in June

This place is opening a tapas bar later this year. Maybe you and a few other DDA folks who live relatively close to Fredericksburg could come down here for a couple of days and we can do touristy things here and go out to eat downtown. There are so many places that are fun and reasonably priced. Tammi and I would love to "host" a meet! Wouldn't we, Tammi? :rotfl:
Tapas sounds fun! I think my friends and I are going to one for my birthday-of course we'll have to go early or late cause I already have plans for my birthday.;)

Our progress pretty much came to a screeching halt today.
Hope things dry out!

Go for it!
Thanks! I got the first pass of the taxes done. Now I just need to check them to make sure they are right. I did go to JoAnn's and bought some Cars fabric and Butterick #3832 for top B(the orange one). I made a simular top for a niece years ago but this one is even better-no buttons! The only thing I was finding were for babies and I was glad to have found this pattern. I think Emma will like the lack of seams. It seems perfect for WDW. I'm really excited to make it! I saw SOOOOOOO many cute fabrics-not too many Disney ones but some really cute other ones.

Here you go... Boston Harbor at sunset

I might have recognized that.

In between all the baking, Alyssa and I hit the Carters store and spent $50 on some adorable froggie clothes and a frog plush for Noah. That will be his "theme" for his 1 week, 1 month, 3 month, 6 month, 9 month, and 12 month pictures. (We tracked Alyssa's growth with a stuffed bunny and Matty's growth with a stuffed duck.)
Can't wait to see froggie photos!

Will you come do my taxes? :flower3: I really need to start them, and am just SO not motivated. I usually never wait this long to start.

That pattern looks like it will be adorable. I think that model looks a bit like Emma, too. :goodvibes Something about the eyes.

Debbie glad to hear you are feeling better!

Kristine good luck with the real estate deal! Sorry to hear about Bill's mustache mishap :lmao: Your themed dinner with friends sounds like a good time!

Robyn :wizard: for your cousin Joe, hope all will be well

Terry sorry your were not able to go to the wine tasting

Sally sounds like you need a new Dr.! Hope your back is feeling better :wizard:

Amy I would have loved to been at your house today with all that baking!

Bernadette the patten looks cute!

Vicki look forward to seeing your fashion show!

Thank you all for the hugs concerning my friend. Sadly her sister passed away this morning :sad1: She was only 47 years old :guilty:

Gary finished our bathroom today, so I will post some pictures soon. It has been a long day, so I am calling it a night.

Talk to you all tomorrow!

I've seen some similar shirts on the boutique thread. I'm sure it will be very cute.

  That was very quick

It was very slow at work tonight. Thankfully I was the cocktail waitress. I just washed glasses and did some bar tending and lots of chit chatting. It was fun being behind the bar again.

My mother saw Hunter's room and isn't thrilled with the color choices. I don't really care since Hunter loves it, but couldn't the woman give out a compliment once in a while :confused3 She has Hunter convinced that we are only redoing the house because she told us that we needed too :confused3 I wonder what color the sky is in her world?

Hunter's floor isn't done yet, so I'm not taking pictures yet. This is the set that I bought for his room.

We found lime green curtains for under the valance

Picture the above with Mickey code red walls.

I think it looks bright and cheery for a kid's room. I also think it will last into his teenage years (hopefully)

Everyone- thanks so much for the hugs and pixie dust. I talked to Joe for about 2 minutes before the cell cut out. I heard him ask me how the weather was when he really asked how his mother was! I couldn't for the life of me figure out why the weather here was on his mind. :rotfl: He does not remember last night at all, just waking up in the hospital. I do know this car was totaled, he just bought it in February. I tried to call him when we got home but apparently he was discharged. I take that as a good sign. I hope to hear from him soon, he doesn't have his cell phone (I assume it was left in his car) and he doesn't have a landline.

It does sound good that Joe has been discharged! Hopefully you will get to have a full conversation with him soon. Really, if there is anything we can do on this end please let us know. Just don't ask me to cook. :rolleyes1

How sweet of you, I'm sure they will appreciate it! I just wanted to get a rise out you, nothing better than teasing a pregnant woman!!

I think that I am ordering a plain decorated cake from Costco, I'm too lazy to bake one!

I've never had a Costco cake, but Sam's makes a darn tasty cake! :thumbsup2

Elin...after reading the guys review...I made reservations at Citricos in June

Mmmmm. I like Citrico's. :goodvibes

Thank you all for the hugs concerning my friend. Sadly her sister passed away this morning :sad1: She was only 47 years old :guilty:

Oh, Janet, I am so sorry! How sad for your poor friend!

Deb - If Hunter likes his room that is all that matters! I think the pics you posted are cute! :)

Amy - I will have to remember the shirt box for cupcakes. :thumbsup2 Although I really am a menace in the kitchen so maybe I will just stick to place & bake. ;)

So DH The Enabler has been telling me I should buy a laptop. :rolleyes1
I usually don't pay that much attention when you guys talk about your laptop woes because I wasn't planning to buy one. So, if you wouldn't mind recapping them for me that would be great! I know there have been lots of keyboard issues, and some other things that needed to be fixed by the warranty. I know Jen is ready to pull her hair out. Please tell me the manufacturers of these lovely machines, tell me what sort of extended service plan you have, where you bought it, etc. We looked at Bast Buy today and I decided the dang things are too expensive! By the time you add all the crap to make it work even the CHEAP one was going to cost over $900!

Thanks! :)

I have an HP laptop. I did have to have the internal hard drive replaced, but it was covered under the warranty. I also purchased the extended warranty...just in case. I am very happy with it. This is not the best time of year to be computer shopping. I paid about $250 for mine and it came with everything that I needed to do basic word processing and spreadsheets, email etc. Of course I bought mine on black friday. Sears is having a VIP event tomorrow night. I'll forward the email to you. I didn't actually look at the computers, but it was one of these events that landed us the incredible deal on our tv.

That's great news!
