2009 Discussion-We'll make time fly by!

Just wanted to pop in and say thanks for all the warm thoughts. I always feel welcome on DIS and know that peeps will understand whatever is going on in my life. No change in Em's health -- in fact we just nursed her thru strep/flu AND an allergic reaction to the meds -- really need though prayers now gang.

BUT you may have noticed that I have left up the ticker (amazing but it somehow slipped under a year) just in case the $$ finds a way into our pockets (hubby says we might just kinda fiddle around with the mortgage since it is a secure line of credit not a mortgage as such) wish me luck on that one!

I am happy to be reading about so many "new" 1st time travellers, yur gonna LOVE IT

Joining in on the waiting game here. We're travelling in April to celebrate my mom's 60th birthday. It will be me, my twin girls, my mom, my cousin and her daughter (who I can't believe will be 17 when we go).

Book for Nov. 12 - 15, 2009 at the Beach Club. Then off to the ship from the 15-19. First trip for all 12 of us!!

Wow, I can't believe 2009 is almost here!!! This thread began sooooo long ago!! Of course, by now, I'd thought I'd have May hours and all my ADR's done...but that's OK. I'm still going to Disney in just a few months!!

I am with you! I was hoping to have my May hours and ADR's made by now. I guess waiting just brings more anticipation and excitment for the coming trip! :yay:

OK, haven't visited here in a while, but I have news. . .it's actually OFFICIAL now! We're booked at Pop June 15-22!!:cool1:

I guess nothing is gonna make my time fly now. Daughter has become ill and needs to admitted to an intensive in-patient programme that will become open for her in about 3-5 months. Even though our health care is covered this is a private facility so we have to foot the bill ourselves to the sound <gulp> of around 225 per night, for get this EIGHT weeks. So yeah there goes our holiday for our 25th .. those of you with children understand we do what is most important 1st but it doesn't mean i won't be sad come next December (oh and this summer when i would have been planning all my meals)

:grouphug: Prayers for your family

Under 300 days now. My 3 year old daughter keeps asking if this is the weekend we're going to disney. We have to tell it's after summer and at the time for Mommy and Daddy's birthday's.

I think we are in the first group to leave in 2009 since we leave on New Year's Day.

Only 4 days from now!

Is anyone else going the first couple weeks in January that might be interested in sharing a photo pass CD?

OK, I have to say this finally. I am going to Disney World this year!!!!! It is finally 2009. I remember last New Years Day I was excited to say I am going to Disney World next year but this is much better.

Happy New Year!!!

I can't believe it; time is ticking away and we're going to Disney in less than 3 months. Finally told the girls on Christmas Day. They are sooooo excited for their first trip. Question for any veterns who may read this thread. Does anyone know how much it would be to get a taxicab from Pop Century to the nearest WalMart or should I go to Downtown Disney to get one from there? We are from Canada, flying out of Buffalo and want to get a few things such as breakfast bars and water and stuff for the room and parks. We are on the dining package but don't want to waste time in the mornings on dining. I also heard that the closest WalMart has an outlet are right there as well. Is this the case? Would really appreciate any info on this. Thanks loads and happy planning! I got the deluxe, leather Passporter for Christmas and have been reading ever since.

Our family of 7 is also going this year in August. The hardest part is choosing where to stay. # rooms at a value, 2 rooms at a deluxe or mod or a 2 bedroom villa. I change my mind daily. Definitely going in August 2009!!!

I know isn't it great :cool1: :cool1: :cool1:
I am excited because we are now down to almost under two months

I can't believe it's FINALLY here!!!!

And, even better news - we may be going to Disney TWICE in 2009 now!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! We may go next Christmas!

After all the chaos of this holiday (esp. with SIL and MIL fighting) and then DH's company closing on almost NO notice for the 2nd year in a row (and it's either unpaid or use your vacation days - luckily this year he had 4, last year - none, his anniv. date is March 1), we started talking - heck, let's get out of here next year!! If he's going to be forced to use his vacation time then, basically, and the kids are out of school, why not go???

Sooooooo.....we'll probably be doing a 10 or 11 night trip, I can't believe it!! We haven't had a trip that long, due to his limited vacation time/ability to get away, since our Honeymoon (when he worked elsewhere)! Remember many months ago, I was saying - I'd stay value or offsite if it meant a longer trip - which it doesn't for us, so we stay Poly. Well, it might really happen!!

We haven't decided exactly what, though. We may do all 10-11 nights (thinking Dec. 19-29 or 30) at Disney. We'd likely stay offsite in a home and do most of our meals in. I know the crowds are nuts, but we'll be prepared, and having just gone in May...if we don't see everything, no biggie. Probably do parks just in the AM till it gets too crazy, then relax, swim the rest of the day. A day trip to Cape Canaveral. We drive down, so we'll bring a little tree, all our gifts, etc!!! I would LOVE to see all the Disney decor! OR, we may just do 4 nights at Disney, and then a week at a beach somewhere in Southern Florida (Keys or south gulf coast). I honestly don't know which I want more - love Disney of course, but Christmas on a beach sounds so wonderful. I'm most worried about weather - if it's cool, at least at Disney we'd have plenty to do, and if it's warm, great we can swim/do BB, etc. At the beach, if it's cold....hmm....

I know this is kinda OT, but I'd love anyone's thoughts on the above!!
