We finished the wall letters, and since I'm pretty much having another down day here's the babycraft for today. DD called me a dork again, but I think they are cute, they're for the shower.

They are adorable you dork, you! :rotfl2:

I think they are sweet and look so professional!! Well done, Debbie. You aren't excited or anything, are you? :lovestruc :cloud9:

I had to get off here that night because she started guessing. I knew she wouldn't EVER guess what he had planned, but I was afraid I would say something to tip her off that myBob and I were coming too.

What you don't know is how much time herBob took in the planning and execution of the surprise. We didn't know each other's last names so he couldn't call me (although he knew I was Mrs. H there was no listing in the phone book that way... :rotfl: ) so he came to my studio last Monday night and hung out outside with his DD until my classes changed. He came in, quickly told me about his idea and gave me his cell phone number. And since I called him he now has my phone number too.

Oh, and we know each other's last names now too! Just imagine the mischief we can plan now. :lmao:

He's such a keeper! :thumbsup2

I need some opinions, my inlaws have their 50th Anniversary this summer, and my SIL's are planning on a reception/party and a large group gift. The expenses would be split 4 ways, the fifth will have some excuse as to why he can't contribute.

I'm fine with doing either or, I think helping with the reception, expenses and the work, is gift enough, I don't think both are necessary. I'll have to talk it over with DH, but if it doesn't involve Disney or grandchildren he is usually against spending money.

I do plan on telling them that they need to keep expenses under control.

Any ideas?

Maybe the group gift could be a WDW trip!

Debbie the Precious Moments art is really cute!

Vicki look forward to seeing your new haircut.

Bernadette I hope Joe is better today :wizard:

Tom love the outfit :thumbsup2

Tammi sounds like you had a wonderful birthday dinner surprise!

Thanks for the dittoable!!

Bernadette-tell Joe happy belated birthday and I love Pete's Dragon:lovestruc :lovestruc (candle on the water is my favorite song...it's the only song I can finger on the piano).

Terry or Steffy,
What are Mousefest days usually?
Just curious as I can always move my dates a little if I get to see you ladies again in 2010.:)

Deb - That sounds like a very draining night you had. I am sorry things went so badly, but I agree with you that there is no excuse for running out of your staples. I hope someone listens to your suggestions based on experience.

Deb-what a night...you are right, the truth can hurt but it needs to be said!

I'm not going to get to see my mother after all today. I'm bummed but I'm not driving up with the chance that they are going to get more snow. When I got up it was snowing still. It wasn't as bad as yesterday but enough that I don't want to be out driving in it. My mom is 2-1/2 hours away. I would have really enjoyed to spend some time with her but it just isn't worth it when the roads are bad.

I am sorry, you are right though, better to be safe.

church, using a gift card for lunch and then hopefully taking Christmas down!

Hope you have a fun day. Bob and I looked at the Christmas tree here in the living room again the morning and made the mutual decision that it is staying up at least another week! We both love it. :yay:

That is pretty darn impressive!! He's a good guy Tammi!!!!

Bill has only pulled off one big surprise.....

prior to getting married, we were celebrating his birthday....he told me to invite everyone (both families) to my house for pizza and we would just have a good time...so I did. I thought it was odd that he was wearing a sport's coat because I didn't think it was a dressy event...but whatever.

After pizza, I bring out the cake and he jumps up and says, let's all drink wine first....wine before cake? whatever....so I pour everyone wine...and the I proceed to want to cut the cake...he jumps up and says, "I want to make a toast" at this point I am just thinking he's nuts....but again, whatever....

well, he launches into this whole sentimental speech, drops to his knee...takes the ring box out of his sports jacket and proposes! :faint:

Bernadette - poor Joe! I hope he is much better today and none of the rest of you get that nasty bug.
Thanks! I really don't have time to be sick.

Good morning. I promise that I read everything, but it was late when I got home last night and I didn't have the energy to post. I know that there were so great achievements :cheer2: from Vicki, Becky and Tom. There were still some sickos :wizard: :wizard: and I'm sure there was need for some hugs too

I worked last night and it was a fairly decent night in some aspects. We had people coming through the door. I actually waited on 37 people :cheer2: Unfortunately that was really the only good part. The new kitchen could not keep up so meals were taking forever to come out and when they came out there was sure to be something not cooked as ordered. So all of the waitstaff spent most of our time trying to keep customers happy until food finally came out. Thankfully we have a huge salad bar so people had plenty to munch on if they so chose. The new kitchen also does not know how to order and we are now frequently running out of food items that are on our main menu, not to mention staple items such as our famous prime rib ( a HUGE prime rib that draws customers in and brings them back) and we even ran out of baked potatoes for a period of time while they cooked more. Obviously there is no excuse for any of this and it makes the restaurant look bad. I can't tell you how much apologizing we did, and that was before their meals even came out. We probably did over 300 meals, but there have been times in the past when we've done over 500 meals in one night. These guys have no ability to put out that much food :sad2: So after we finished up all 8 waitstaff and one of the busser/waitresses went out to the bar for a well deserved drink. 15 years ago this was a regular thing for the waitstaff, we actually socialized. During this time a staff meeting broke out as on of the owners walked out. We feel that this impromtu meeting brought out a lot of our concerns and stresses as well as many things that the management may not be seeing. They are now trying to organize a full staff meeting. They are thinking a Sunday afternoon in a couple of weeks. As the first impromtu meeting was breaking up one of the other owners pulled me aside. He needs me to do some car rental searching for him, but that too turned into a business meeting. He is the owner that is always sober, listens, but he is not the one that we usually deal with. He does however respect my opinion. He actually asked me what I would do if I were him. I gave him straight answers, some of which I think suprised him. I also hope that I didn't offend him when I told him that they don't have a business to sell anymore, they have a parking lot and old building (sometimes the truth hurts). It seems that they really want to make these new guys work out rather than starting over again (that may not be possible in my opinion, but it is not my call). So now we wait to see if anything comes of all this. The second owner did say that he wants to sit down with me sometime to discuss it further :confused3 As you can imagine I was pretty wiped out by the time I got home.
That really does sound exhausting. So you have to work extra hard and then get lousy tips because the customers experience wasn't great due to things beyond your control.:scared:

I'm not going to get to see my mother after all today. I'm bummed but I'm not driving up with the chance that they are going to get more snow. When I got up it was snowing still. It wasn't as bad as yesterday but enough that I don't want to be out driving in it. My mom is 2-1/2 hours away. I would have really enjoyed to spend some time with her but it just isn't worth it when the roads are bad.
 Sorry you won't be able to see your Mom. Stay safe!

That's the only reason I got it, because I got the prepurchase discount. I'm not thrilled with the layouts either, especially the princess ones. I think I only used them for the pictures of our dinner at Park Fare. Mostly I used the vintage and classic. The thing that I don't like about ANY photobook place is that you can't choose whether you want portrait or landscape layouts. Yes, you can choose a layout that has a mixture, but it never fails that I have more portrait than landscape pictures, which causes me to add extra pages to the book. I'll let you know more when I get it.
Thanks for your insights. I think I'll skip it on this trip. I can't justify that it would be twice as nice as something I could get elsewhere (like Kodak). Maybe they will improve it by January 2010 for Emma's 7th birthday trip.

Good Morning DDA!

Number 2 is DONE!

I stayed up most of the night to finish it.

I am going back to bed. I work nights so I usually sleep during the day anyway. And, since I have to work tonight, I better get a little more sleep.

I really do like this one! It looks so much better in person. The bright snow in the background made the pictures too dark. I wasn't about to find a brighter spot outside though in my pj's;)

Once I can get Leighanna to model these, I am sure they will look perfect!
BEAUTIFUL!!!! LOVE your fabric choices!

Adorable!!!

Bernadette - oh No! I am sorry Joe is sick! I hope he is feeling better today! :wizard: and that no one else gets sick.
Thanks!

I agree that a party OR big gift is enough. Could you do something like a photo book for them?

 Tammi-so happy for you that you have found such a wonderful man!

Bernadette-tell Joe happy belated birthday and I love Pete's Dragon:lovestruc :lovestruc (candle on the water is my favorite song...it's the only song I can finger on the piano).
Thanks! I really believe Joe is going to my true Disney fanatic! He loves all the classic stuff. I give the kids a $25 limit at Disney. On our last trip Joe picked a matted black and white photo of Walt drawing Mickey with Walt's autograph on the mat. He loves all the classic stuff at WDW like Carousel of Progress and he LOVES One Man Dream at MGM. For his birthday I also got him a canvas print of Oswald the Lucky Rabbit. It was on clearance at the Disney Store for $6. It will look great in his room with his Walt photo.

Do you have Pete's Dragon? I'd be happy to send you our video if you want it.
