First Timer Question:
I just got my first batch of GC ($500) and I've loaded them all in DisneyGiftCard.com. Everything was activated so so far so good! I plan to now transfer on one card to make room for more cards. Upon transferring is it safe to then delete the $0 Balance Cards and throw the actual card away???
I'd rather not keep a pile of GC around the house as my kids are likely to discover them.
Yes. FWIW I keep a backup empty card to pack in my suitcase in case anything happens to my loaded cards so I can transfer the balance if I have to.
A few comments from my experiences with multiple gift cards and value transfers on DisneyGiftCard.com (in case it hasn't been noted).
* The max amount that you can load on one card is $1,000. Just keep that mind as you plan the transfers.
* The max number of cards you can have on DisneyGiftCard.com is 4 or 5 (think 5). So you end up having do delete the zero balance cards eventually in order to add the next cards you want to transfer balances from.
* Had trouble trying to use more than one gift card to purchase tickets online when the total cost was over $1,000. Don't worry, just break up the purchases so you can use one gift card at a time.
* Had trouble trying to use more than two gift cards to purchase tickets when calling into DVC member services (not sure how it is through regular ticket purchases). They could only use two gift cards at a time. The CM was nice enough to recommend just breaking up the purchase so I could use all the cards I had (three of them). Not sure why I didn't think of it before hand (I tried online and couldn't use them as noted above, so called it. I wasn't' thinking straight).
* It was mentioned on another post/forum that if you need to get a refund, Disney CM will need to put the funds back onto the same cards. So in regards to throwing out the cards, I would recommend at least keeping your purchase receipts or the numbers for the gift cards if they don't show on the receipt.
