:yay:Happy Dance:yay: Called Chase this afternoon and my CIP app was approved! Called Customer Service and tomorrow they will ship my new card, no charge, via UPS. It will be here be Tuesday!

Oh and I don't have to worry about what to do about telling the hubs. He walked in while I was on the phone with Chase and wanted to know what was going on. His response to my answer was "Cool. Can I have a new card too?" :D We're on our way now! :drive:

Thanks all for the help. I'm sure in a few weeks I'll be bugging you for advice on the NEXT acquisition. I got my first Chase card 10/17, now this business card. What is a reasonable amount of time to wait for the next Chase hit? Probably going to take me close to the three months to make the 5k spend though. :snail:

If you haven't taken it yet: https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/F3HVYDH Have at it! Hopefully you enjoy a trip down memory lane with all of your cards!

I'm going to leave the survey open until Tuesday next week then post the results. However, in the meantime how about a fun little challenge:

So far there is a clear TOP card and 3 cards tied for second... Any Guesses on what those cards are? I'll give the answer tomorrow after people have a chance to post their guesses!
I'm going with CSP for top, with CSR, Freedom & Chase Disney tied for second!

Congrats!! I wouldn't hit another Chase card until you're about 2 weeks away from hitting the min spend on the CIP. Ideally if it takes you almost three months to hit the spend that means you'll put at least 2 months (or more) in between those Chase apps. I believe your first card was a Disney Visa - do you know what you're going to do next? That CSR/CSP double dip would be a great idea.

You'll also hear us talk some here about "slowing our roll" with Chase to not draw too much scrutiny. That's where an AMEX business card can be a perfect solution - so you could do something like...CIP (then wait 2+ months), CSR/CSP double dip (then wait 3ish months), AMEX business card (then wait 3ish months), then come back to Chase and you've basically then put 6 months in between that double dip and your next Chase app. Good Luck - you're well on your way so far!!

Booking Disneyland offsite hotels with UR: Just booked for 1 night before moving onsite for our Disneyland trip with URs on Chase portal. That thing is being- is being- is being----- gah!!! There are not appropriate words to describe how ENTIRELY screwed up their online booking system is! I knew from my basic Disneyland knowledge and Expedia what hotels I was interested in and what was available and I could not get them to show up. And I'm traveling so yes internet where I'm at but cell phone coverage sucks so no calling Chase. After an hour of switching between browsers and searching different ways and sorting different ways I finally got UR to show Hilton Anaheim and Marriott to show as well Residence Inn maingate, residence inn convention center, Springfield Suites convention center and hyatt place convention center (everything I was interested in). Almost booked refundable rooms at Hilton Anaheim but found I could get refundable rooms we wanted for just $10 more and free breakfast and better beds (imho- @Lain got super comfy beds at hilton anaheim, I'm jealous!) so I changed my mind and went Hyatt Place, which of course meant another half an hour of searching to get hyatt place to show up again (eventually, I searched Garden Grove instead of Anaheim and got the hotels to show- gah!! If I had a stress ball I would have thrown in across the room and broken something!). And then right before confirmation Chase popped up and said we found a cheaper rate, do you want it? I'd never seen it before so paranoid me said: no! they're trying to put me in a non-refundable room or the wrong type and greedy me said: YES! more UR points for ME!. Greedy me was louder and won (after I clicked and re-confirmed everything and double checked I could still cancel). They were indeed the exact same rooms, just a couple bucks cheaper on each. Weird. (For those looking, I wouldn't recommend Hyatt Place as a Disneyland hotel if you're looking to walk to the parks, it's too far to walk imho.)

That was ridiculous, time for work to finish and to watch some Netflix with a big glass of wine... yes, I'm on the West Coast but it's 5 o'clock on the East Coast right?

:faint: I'm tired just reading the effort it took you...

I would think the Southwest Cards are up there. Reserve and CIP. Agree Amex SPG too. Sorry I wouldn’t attempt to rank...

My guess is CSR at the top, and the tie for second is between CSP, Freedom, and one of the Disney cards (considering where we’re posting).

Thanks! I wouldn't have been smart enough or brave enough without you guys here to hold my hand.

Yes, my first Chase was the Disney NF Visa 10.13.17. Now the CIP. I really can't do the double CSP/CSR until hubby has his surgery and we have no idea when that will be as of now. Or in late September, maybe. The spend is the killer here. November has insurance premiums and taxes but I'm not sure what the cc fee is to pay the taxes. If it's 3% that would be over $200. Not sure i want to do that.

The only other Chase cards that interest me besides CSR & CSP are CFU, CU and MAYBE the CIC Business. Do I need to keep one of the freedoms open to pc the CSR when I'm tired of the AF? Another possibility is the IHG, maybe. The only hotel loyalty we have is Best Western and that rarely gets additions to it as my dh has to use approved hotels for his work after they were bought out. (We lost a ton of perks then.)

I think my next card will be the CFU or CF. I'm favoring the CFU for the 2%. I already have rotating categories on my Disc, get 6% on groceries, and 4% on gas on other cards. After that not sure. Will look into Amex business cards to see what's available. I'm sure I'll be back before then with questions!

I also can get a card or two in my dh name. He didn't react too negatively when he heard me on the phone with Chase today.

I took your survey. You can probably tell mine is the one with hardly any cards!

Thanks again for all your help.

Sounds like you're thinking things through! Based on what you've said thus far CFU or CF wouldn't necessarily be a mistake. They seem to fit your strategy. Timing the double dip with the surgery 100% makes sense. Getting your husband in would be awesome too - by alternating applications you can naturally space out apps and keep banks happy and in the approving mood!

DLR peeps...Is the Hyatt House really the only walkable Hyatt? We will most likely be pushing our oldest in a wheelchair so the distance becomes an issue there more than anything. And getting an uber that can accommodate 6 people plus a wheelchair is hard. The Hyatt House comes up for individual days at 12k but it's a king room with a sofa bed. We'd need two of those. The Hyatt Place has a 2-queen room with a sofa bed which would fit us all (snugly!) for 12k but that looks further and I'm not sure I'm comfortable with the distance.

I think Freedom will be high on the list. Just cause it's an older card that I am thinking many of us have.

After that, I think SW (not sure which), CSR, and then a Disney card in that tie for 2nd place.

I'm a terrible guesser :)

Hyatt Place is walkable, it's just a farther walk. I have not done that walk myself, but I can't imagine it being very fun with a wheelchair. I'm guessing it would add another 5-10min to the gates, so you would be looking at a 15-20min walk. Do you only have Hyatt points to use?

No, I have IHG and UR. I was considering the Hotel Indigo also using IHG points but no rewards nights are coming up for my dates there either.

I do need to consider the fact that we will have the wheelchair. I had to push it down a busy road in Orlando going from urgent care to a Walgreens this past Sept when we were at WDW. And it was NOT fun trying to push down the sidewalk, crossing roads, going over curbs, etc. This is somewhat new for us so I forget about that when thinking about walking. The less walking, the better I think.

Hmm, the IHG options probably aren't very good then. Are you putting in more than 2 people when doing your search? The few times I've searched their properties I couldn't find rewards nights if I put in more than 2, but with 2 or less then they would pop up.

If you want to be within easy walking distance then consider the family room at Camelot or the one at Castle Inn. I've seen them both on the UR portal.

Yes, was putting in all 6 of us. I'll look at the Camelot and Castle Inn. Thanks :)

I’ve never stayed at Hyatt Place but am familiar with its location; it’s a little further down Harbor than the Hilton and Marriott so @Angrose is right that you’re probably looking at a 15-20 minute walk. (I’d also look at the closer motels like Angrose suggested, but can’t speak personally for the Camelot or Castle Inns.)

I also like @Albort’s idea about walking to the Toy Story parking lot and taking a shuttle to DLR’s eastern gate. If you look at a map, Hyatt Place is on the west side of Harbor Blvd., the Toy Story parking lot would be about 5 minutes, maybe a little more, up Harbor on the other side of that street, and on the way to DLR; you’d cross at Convention Way. Once in the lot, you’d head straight to the bus pickup, which isn’t too far into the lot. You don’t need to show any parking or park tickets to ride the bus. The shuttles are full sized buses that can accommodate wheelchairs and ECVs and is a nice way to start and end a day at the parks. Disney doesn’t overload the bus, which is nice but does cause the line to back up. (We don’t do it because we don’t like waiting for the bus, but with a wheelchair a bus ride would be a much welcomed lift.) The bus ride is maybe 5 minutes long and takes you right to the bus and shuttle drop off in front of bag check at the eastern gate. Beyond bag check is the Esplanade with DCA on the left and Disneyland to the right. The two parks are about 2 minutes apart from each other. You’ll really enjoy how close everything is once you’re in DLR. When you’re done, just head back out the side you came in, to the bus and shuttle drop off, and you should see the Toy Story buses picking up to your right (facing Harbor), ready to take you back to the parking lot.

@wendow and @Angrose depending on your dates, you can also consider walking to Toy Story lot and taking the shuttle there.

parking lot is not always opened if i recall correctly.

As for whether Toy Story lot will be open, it’s one of DLR’s two main theme park parking lots (the other being Mickey & Friends) and it’s open every day. Albort may be thinking that Toy Story is used as overflow for Mickey & Friends when that lot fills up, which is true; then there’s Pumbaa and sometimes Simba lots that are generally closed to the public unless they’re used for overflow.

And congratulations on 5,000 posts!

wow.....so you're saying that trying again and again got the list to repopulate? I've never experienced that.... it pretty much just had some on the list, and others, it just didn't.
....OH BTW thank you for the previous advice ya'll!:thumbsup2 I was asking about how to get the BB rewards....I have used Chasepay so I'm good with the ins and outs of that one- I got my answer-thru the phone number!
