Discounts on Universal Passes

I saw that Florida residents can buy the 1 day 2 park tix for $50 now. I am eargerly waiting to see if this type of deal comes out for APholders. I actually may just call to check as their website isn't always up to date. We leave next Saturday and while DH and I are preferred holders, we are taking family and would love to spend one day at US. If they offered the 1/2 tickets again for passholders we would do it, other than that we might have to spend that same amount at the MNSSHP and I just don't want to do it as I think spending the day at US is a much better deal.

I wouldn't be surprised to see the 50% off ticket deal for passholders again...it's definately a fantastic deal. :thumbsup2

Costco's website is showing a 3 park pass (US/IOA/WW) - 7 days for $119. Maybe the actual store has the $89 3 month passes. I'll check! Thanks for the lead.

Hi All - any ideas on best FL Res Annual Passes. Am excited to buy pass again after many years but don't want to be premature with HP coming up. Am really struggling with Premier Pass versus Preferred Pass as there does not appear to be any "renewal" benefits with Preferred. Would appreciate any insight as I'm hoping to make this a Holiday Gift (to myself :santa: ). TIA

Mac is correct on the renewal rate...it's $117 and some change. If you're going to the parks a lot remember...the Power Pass does not offer any discounts on food/merchandise and there's no free parking...not to mention discounts on HHN and other events. You would be better off upgrading...again if you're going a lot.

I am looking to buy 5 tickets for friends, all 1 day/2 park.

Saw this on the AP website:

Save on Tickets for Visiting Friends and Relatives

Now through December 20, 2009, 2-Park Premier and Preferred Annual Passholders can Save 50% off 1-Day, 2-Park Tickets and 2-Day, 2-Park Tickets for up to 6 guests at any front gate ticket window or by calling 1-866-PASS-4-FUN.

Price does not include tax. Offer valid through December 20, 2009 for purchases made at Universal Orlando theme park front gate ticket windows only. Valid for a single day admission to Universal Studios AND Islands of Adventure. Limit total of six (6) adult tickets. Tickets must be used the same day they are purchased.

What I am confused about is that tickets must be used the same day they are purchased part. They are not going to the parks with me. And I would have to call and order over the phone.

Anyone know how that works?

In the past, you could only purchase them at the gates and they must be purchased by the passholder so you must be with them. The tickets could only be used that day. My suggestion is to call the number listed and see if they can be purchased over the phone and used at another date and if you have to be there with them.

I always called them "instant use" tickets when you purchase them at the gates.

Update: was able to order five 2 day/2 park passes no problem. They didn't have the 1 day/2 park available via phone. Explained that I would not be with my friends when they went and that friends would not be there till end of December.

A nice perk was that they were Fed Ex'd for free. Except they require an adult signature. You can't sign the tag and have Fed Ex leave the tickets. In case anyone else is in the same boat, you can call Fed Ex to set up delivery so that someone is actually home to sign for them when they arrive.

Can anyone tell me if this is a good deal? Its from Universals own site:
