Off to an amazing start!!
I’m so excited!
For anyone not watching the Jets game, watch the final few minutes. You’ll see history AND absolute bedlam.

I read that this was the Jets' first playoff series win ever. Does that mean Jets 2.0? Or does that include Jets 1.0 as well?
It’s Jets 2.0 first series win (including the Atlanta Thrashers)
Jets 1.0 last won a series in 1987 (not including Arizona/Phoenix Coyotes)
Clear as mud?
It's all clear to me. I'm well aware of how the franchises changed locations. I was just too lazy to look up whether the Jets 1.0 had ever won a playoff series. Thanks for providing the answer.
Sorry if you thought I was being snarky. I totally wasn’t.
Two series ended today and not one comment?
Looks like it will be Winnipeg/Nashville meeting in round two. It’s too bad we have to meet in round two and not the WCF.
Honestly, I’m worried about this series but it is going to be a marathon. Twitter predicts every game going to triple OT LOL
I'm still here.
The Blue Jackets went from being up 2-0 to being down 3-2. (We were definitely the underdog going into the series, and all but one game has gone to OT, so we're not getting blown out of the water, but... ugh. The CBJ could really use some success. And Tortarella is hardly playing our 4th line at all. You can tell our top guys are exhausted. I hope we can manage to pull out a win tonight... and another one to win the series. But even if we do, I worry that we'll be out of gas by round 2.) I think they announced that only 12% of teams that win the first two games go on to lose the series. Please don't let that be us. Please don't let that be us. Please don't let that be us.
Was that the Preds vs Sharks? I was there and was exhausted from watching. I remember most of the concession areas were closed and looking for something to keep my energy up.Still can't figure out why the NHL hasn't moved to the same overtime rules as the regular season. I remember seeing one triple overtime game years ago, and I'm frankly surprised the players were even able to play. I would have thought by then someone would be so gassed that they'd make a mistake and game over.

Nah. It was late 90s when ESPN was still showing NHL hockey. I was at a Chili's having dinner when it was on in the bar area. When I got back home it was still on. I heard about the result in the morning.
I looked it up, and it was a little bit later and even longer than I remember. That was the 5 OT Penguins-Flyers game in 2000. I found something from a guy who worked the game:

I will never forget Keith Primeau's wicked wrister past Ron Tugnutt to end the madness. I have no idea what time it was when we were doing the Postgame Show, but I remember it didn't last very long. Michael Barkann sent it to me for a live player interview.
Longtime media czar, Zack Hill, brought out Chris Therien and "Bundy" could barely stand. I asked him one question and I remember thinking to myself, this guy looks like he's going to pass out, so I wrapped up the interview after one question and sent it back to Philadelphia.
One last thing, as the game was going from one overtime to the next, I was starving and remembered the cutoff time to order room service at the team hotel. I made the call between intermissions and had a burger and a few pops waiting for me in my room to properly end the most memorable game I have ever covered.

Did you even see the conversation? In the post I answered, She was talking about the kings.Did you even see the last two+ minutes of game 3? They took advantage of the officials looking the other way to slash, cross-check, and rough. Ducks players heading for the bench were taking whacks at Sharks players coming on the ice. There could have easily been 15+ penalties called, but only one was. The one that got called on Montour (who isn't even a goon) he just threw his stick into Karlsson, and while Karlsson was down in pain he cross-checked him for good measure. That was downright disgusting with intent to injure. I can't imagine this didn't come from the coach, like Coach Riley in The Mighty Ducks. It was like the old Activision Ice Hockey. Even a Ducks fan site called them out on it.

Down 5-1 in the 3rd period, the wheels began to come off, and the Ducks proceeded to goon it up in about as bad a way you can think, even for this team. Getzlaf took his second and third penalties of the game for slashing Hertl and then roughing Sorensen. The Sharks would proceed to score on the power play.
A few minutes later, the Ducks attempted to stir the pot again. Anaheim leadershipped their way to a Corey Perry cross check and a game misconduct for Getzlaf who would be thrown out of the game. Kesler then took a slashing penalty, and Montour took another slashing penalty at the end of the game.
To drive home the point completely, each one of the Sharks 3rd period goals was scored on the power play as Anaheim believed that the only way to salvage the game was to somehow go all UFC on the ice and flirt with boarder line assault on the San Jose players.
Put simply: the ending of last night’s game was a complete and utter embarrassment for the players, coaches, front office, and, worst of all, the fans.
