I found out that one of the Shell GCs I bought online from BB for an Amex offer was never activated. I called BB twice and they say there's nothing they can do since it's been more than 30 days. I was told to visit a store to see if they can activate it, but there's no guarantee. Visiting a store is not really an option given what's going on. BB has no email customer service, only chat & phone. I tried chat several times yesterday but never got an agent. I'll keep trying, but I'm wondering if I'm really just out of luck like the CS reps told me in not so many words. I'm not too confident in the reps since one of them told me he was googling how to activate a card and asked if I had tried that! I did confirm with Shell that the card was not activated. I think there's even evidence on my receipt since it shows only the first few digits from this card but shows like 16 digits for the others. If I can't get anyone at BB to help me, would Amex offer any protection?

Things I'm looking forward to -
A calmer society
DS getting accepted to college
Going back to church
Fresh vegetables from my garden
More "normal" grocery shopping experiences
Things not getting canceled

I would hold onto the card and your receipt and take it to a store when things resume normality - see, I have hope! Your receipt should be enough.

Good morning everyone. I hope all is well with you. I had an awesome experience this morning with AA. I tweeted them asking if they are waiving the fee for redepositing miles back and they said yes. I was able to cancel via twitter and all was set. It took maybe 10 minutes and I had miles back in my account. I was told I would get a refund for cabin extras seat I paid for. I am so grateful. My flights were in 5 days to Hawaii. Good luck. Hope this helps.

Well DISchurners friends... here we are in the midst of what might just be the craziest event any of us have ever lived through. For brief moments of the day, I'm able to forget what's going on around me and just live in that moment. BUT eventually my mind turns to so many things that I've missed, will miss, might miss, and hope not to miss. And so that's my topic for this evening:

Make a list of all the things you're looking forward to...big and small...and elaborate if you want! Feel free to list 1 thing or 100 things - post it here! Then let's spread the loves and the likes! Hopefully thinking about what's at the other end of all of this can help get us through!
I want all this to end up okay for everyone.
- I want to go with my brother and his family to Fort Wilderness. He refuses to take his kids to Disney so we were all crazy excited that they would experience this little piece of fringe Disney with us.
- I want to feel safe going out for regular errands so I don’t have huge anxiety for my cancer dad and diabetes mom. We live with them.
- I want construction to continue so we can finish our home construction on schedule. Plus, my job has a lot to do with construction and I want to keep my job!!
- I want my 7 year old to go back to his new school. It’s nature inspired and he loves it. He has a speech delay disability that he has made huge progress on but I’m noticing some regression ever since life turned upside down. I’m worried he’s a little depressed and doesn’t know how to express it.
- I want my niece and my sons best friend to have a graduation, prom, and go to Grad Bash at Universal even if it’s later in the summer.
- I need to set up a better schedule so this rare gift of at home time is as rewarding as I thought it would be during all those daydreams of working from home I’ve had in the past.
- I want to watch all the Marvel and Star Wars movies. Maybe that will be this weeks goal.
- I want to be able to start planning realistically the 2021 and 2022 summer trips for 2 of my sons’ graduations. They will be big trips.

I think I messed up because Saturday I canceled my trip online and then sent an email asking for the miles to be redeposited. I thought this was how my sister did it but she asked for the cancellation in her email. So far no redeposit and no refunds. These airlines are really screwing up. Either allow it or don’t but if you allow it, set up the IT systems to make it to happen. It complicates everyone’s life when different people have different outcomes - stress for us, stress for the airlines.

Hi - question for you for SW - has anyone had luck with them returning or moving EBCI from one flight to another? I have MCI-MCO flights booked for May (I'm still holding out for now). I noticed I can book flights out of ICT (Wichita where we live) for not much more instead of driving to KC. I was thinking I might as well do this, but it'd be great to not lose the $50 we paid for EBCI. Is this possible? I know if you cancel you normally lose it, but if you modify it you don't. But I don't think you can modify to a different airport? TIA!

Things I'm looking forward to:
- Letting the kids play outside with all of the other neighbor kids
- Not being in constant limbo about everything
- Hoping the economy gets back to normal somewhat
- Celebrating my DS2's college graduation! Poor kid is graduating into a pandemic and most likely a recession :(
- Warmer weather and planting flowers, working on our yard
- Hopefully still going to DLR, WDW, and UO this summer and experiencing the new attractions there (RotR, Hagrids, Skyliner, MMRR, and maybe Ratatouille).

Not only that but I could not cancel upcoming Jetblue flights online. I had to call and the wait time was stated to be over an hour. So I put in an online request to cancel which will be responded to within 30 days (flights are Easter weekend). It would be so much easier for everyone if they would just allow the cancellations online.

DP for you - Used JetBlue online cancel request 10 days ago - was checking the reservation yesterday and noted that it showed canceled, but there was a note that said ' Reservation is canceled but we were unable to process your refund online. Please call our call centre' . (I did not receive any email to this effect)

I called at 8:30 ET this morning - initial message said wait times may be over 60 mins - but after going through the menus, was advised that my call should be answered in less than 17 mins.

Connected to agent after being on hold for 14 mins, and redeposit of miles and travel credit for taxes processed a few minutes later.

So.....i have now had to cancel 4 JetBlue reservations - the first 3 were easily done on the website, and this one required a call for some reason I am not sure of....but it was taken care of quickly. I am more than happy with how JetBlue has handled my cancellations.

You can modify to a different airport and keep EBCI intact. The hard part is you have CPs attached since they need to be canceled in order to move the CP holder's flight. I have always called in those instances. If you aren't in that CP situation, you can easily select the new airport on change screen.

Things I'm looking forward to:
-not being paranoid about getting sick when I'm at work or grocery shopping
-having my DH getting paid full salary again
-having a full paycheck until I decide to retire
-having the stock market recover....at least some
-selling our condo
-decorating our new home
-seeing family
-laughing with friends

Things I am looking forward to:
>Spending time with my parents in person
>Normal daycare routine for my super social kiddo
>Work normalcy and healing of strained coworker relationships (things are very busy right now as I work in an impacted field)
>Planning a trip without having everything in limbo. Hoping our new November trip goes as planned since our May trip will not
>Celebrating my birthday again when things calm down...the real one this month really doesn't count this year
>Dining out!

Thanks! I just got my CP and I haven't attached it to this flight yet, so I'll end up just cancelling that flight (I didn't add EBCI to it, expecting to get the CP).

Great list!

Ha, yes. DS definitely needs a redo of his 13th birthday since his cruise was canceled and no parties with family or friends.

Good to know. Thanks. I will follow up.

This is number 1 and immediate

also, seeing my grandchildren as often as possible

getting through another year so that I can see family again next February in Orlando as we grow older and our days of being able to do this seem to have quickly dropped into possibly the single digits

I look forward each morning to the wonderful personalities on this thread who have woven it into something other than just a financial opportunity but at the same time, give helpful advice and stay in tune with the core idea of 'I Love Credit Cards' for travel and other pursuits.

I have to come back and revamp this just a little bit::

Looking forward to getting more UR cards. I was looking forward to a CIP but not sure the 80k link will still be an option once I get there. If not it will be a card that I can transfer UR's with, whatever bonus is offered.

I put this out of my mind as much as possible until I'll need to proceed, but it's almost the end of March. I keep forgetting when my under 5/24 is coming - I think it's June, or maybe August, but it's just a few months away!!!!

Then, once I get the magic card, I want to transfer a 100K (already have) or so to Hyatt for a 2021 vacation at the my beach. Just a simple trip but it is what makes me happy. Meanwhile I'll be building up more for future years.

Getting a Hilton card. Amex gave me a popup and I haven't tried since. I won't try until after I get my UR card. I've never had a CSP or CSR so have a few options to try. Won't be able to do the 15K card unless something major impacts my life that costs 10-15K.

I used twitter dm yesterday afternoon to get in touch with AA. Told them I hadn’t yet received an email confirming I’d cancelled my Disney trip that was schedule for March 16-18 and also confirming a travel voucher good for the amount of the trip. Didn’t take long to get an email confirming the cancellation but they said I had to call back about the voucher.

How are you generating referral inks for the old CIP offer? I would like to refer DH but cannot figure it out. Or is it just existing links?

Things I'm looking forward to:

  • Celebrating DD2's college graduation. She goes to Ole Miss and they have just postponed their graduation at this point. I'm very hopeful that they will still have a ceremony.
  • Celebrating DS's high school graduation. Nothing has been announced concerning his yet, but I'm even more hopeful that since everyone is local, we will get a ceremony sometime.
  • Shopping for DS's college dorm that he will be moving to this fall.
  • Feeling confident and excited to be planning travel again. Hopeful that we will still be able to go somewhere as a family this summer, if not, maybe over Christmas break! We've never taken a big trip during that time of the year, so would be really fun if we can make it work.
Those are a few off the top of my head. Since I only have older kids, they are coping well at home (the ones that are there), so family life is going fine. I'm a little worried about my mom who lives alone and is a very social person. She's doing ok so far, but I know will get stir crazy if our shelter in place goes on and on. (We're in Illinois and it just started for us Saturday night).
