April Check-In **Official**

1) The first thing you will do when you get to Disneyland? Try to get ROTR probably :-) And we are having a debate about where to head to first.
2) The food, snack, treat, or beverage you're most looking forward to? We will be doing supper at Blue Bayou for F! Package... DH has never eaten there. So that and a Dole Whip for me :-)
3) The ride or attraction you are most looking forward to? Probably Galaxy's Edge... and Splash Mountain. And Pirates. And just being there!
4) The ride or attraction that isn't your favorite, but you'll go anyway because it's your traveling companion's favorite? Another vote for Mickey’s fun wheel at Pixar Pier. I hate it but DH thinks me freaking out on it is hilarious so...
5) The character you would be most excited to get a picture with? Piglet probably. I know he's not always around but he's my favourite. Or Mickey. Not sure we will wait for pictures much...

Welcome @Squinty ! We’re all a little mad here.
Is anyone else planning to dress for DD?

I am, but I don’t know if my family will. Now what to wear?!

Definitely! Hubby and I have outfits almost ready. We will be dapper day disneybounding! He's r2d2 and I'm c3po... especially funny since he is tall and thin, and I'm short and stout...

We will be disneybounding a couple other days too :-)

Hi! New to this board so I apologize if this question has been addressed a thousand times already! Planning a trip to DL within April 22 - April 26 dates. I'm having trouble deciding which exact days to be at the parks, though, because the event schedules (fireworks, parades, etc.) aren't out yet! I thought 2 days should be plenty and was thinking Wednesday/Thursday but I don't want to miss special events if they only occur on weekends. Will fireworks only be on Friday and Saturday night? Is World of Color every night? How about Fantasmic? Anything else to consider? Thanks!

That sounds so cute!

Comfortable shoes!

It will really cramp my style, but better than cramping my feet!

I’m debating about buying a Disney dress and wearing it that day. Never worn a dress in the park.

You should! I haven’t either, but I love old pics of the park with everyone dressed up.

Disneyland and DCA you need at least 3 days and that is going at a commando pace. I’d say 4 days would be recommended so you can t

The problem I’m having is the price tag on the dresses!! For that it needs to fit great be comfortable.
I also can’t decide which one to get. I was looking at the tiki one or the new Minnie one.

I love the looks of them but just cant justify the price with all the money we are intending to spend when we are there (big star wars fans too so all the merch!)
If you're at all crafty, there are some great options to create things yourself that is fairly easy, and that can help you save some money.
My C3PO dress is a basic yellow dress from Amazon that I am painting and sewing. If I had the money I would DEFINITELY be buying one of those dresses though! They're awesome!

It's been quite a few years but I've worn dresses in the park. I wear dresses or skirts probably 80% of the time, but it's totally fine. I just wear thin shorts underneath for comfort and such.

And what fantastic pictures!

For the only dapper day I’ve done I wore a dress with converse. I was very comfortable. I’ll never wear heels in the park! Omg! I can’t imagine...

this dapper day I’m trying to decide what to wear...probably a dress again, with comfortable shoes.

Hubby found me gold flat vintage looking shoes... dapper day is our last day at the park and just hoping my feet hold out until then! Converse is such a great idea.

Hoping that my shoes are okay...

1) The first thing you will do when you get to Disneyland? We do an "arrival day" where we just relax and get some shopping done. We'll probably go straight to Trader Sam's to get some lunch and drinks and grab some clothes from World of Disney. (Honestly though we might run over and get some churro toffee....)
2) The food, snack, treat, or beverage you're most looking forward to? Food - Blue Bayou, Snack - Dole Whip, - Beverage - Anything from Schmoozy's!!!
3) The ride or attraction you are most looking forward to? Any of the mountains minus Splash.
4) The ride or attraction that isn't your favorite, but you'll go anyway because it's your traveling companion's favorite? Starwars.....the boys love it, me ?....I could care less. I do like the joy it brings people though.
5) The character you would be most excited to get a picture with? Cruelella DeVille because it will match our Disneybound for Dapper Day. :-):-):-)

I'd say if you're nervous about shoes... wearing tights helps to prevent the "back of your heel" blisters. Also, you can take pictures early on in cute shoes and then switch out to converse or even athletic shoes after that. That's normally what I do.

Oooh good idea!

Hi all! Joining the April Party. Thanks so much for starting this thread. We're a Disney World family making a long overdue pilgrimage West. My hubby and I honeymooned there in 2007 but this will be the first visit for our soon to be 9 year old daughter. We'll be taking a Western road trip through Arizona and Nevada before landing in Anaheim 8-13 April staying at the Disneyland Hotel.

1) The first thing you will do when you get to Disneyland? Likely won't have a park day the first day so I'll be all about some Trader Sams
2) The food, snack, treat, or beverage you're most looking forward to? Anything at the aforementioned Trade Sams and all things Food and Wine Festival
3) The ride or attraction you are most looking forward to? Mr. Toads Wild Ride
4) The ride or attraction that isn't your favorite, but you'll go anyway because it's your traveling companion's favorite? The fun wheel though pretty sure I won't be going anyway
5) The character you would be most excited to get a picture with? Me, myself, and I :earboy2:

4/5-4/11 - VGC (first night CCI)

Okay, everyone should be added to this point! As always, if I missed you, please let me know.

In the meantime, let's play a game. For veterans this should be easy; for newbies (like us!), take your best guess.

What is:

1) The first thing you will do when you get to Disneyland?
2) The food, snack, treat, or beverage you're most looking forward to?
3) The ride or attraction you are most looking forward to?
4) The ride or attraction that isn't your favorite, but you'll go anyway because it's your traveling companion's favorite?
5) The character you would be most excited to get a picture with?

My last Disneyland trip was in 2017 and I go to WDW more often than DLR. Star Wars opened at WDW a few weeks after my last trip, so that whole land is new to me!

1) I get to DLR in the evening; I will probably just eat dinner and relax.
In Disneyland Park? Hopefully secure a boarding group for RotR!

2) The beignets at Ralph Brennan's Express in DTD, although Mickey Bars and churros are high on the list also.

3) Both Star Wars rides - I have been avoiding spoilers as much as I can! Also, the rides that aren't at WDW or are different from WDW: Matterhorn, RSR, Space Mtn, etc.

4) N/A - solo trip!

5) Oswald
